My OVO energy

Hi.  We had a 7 hour power cut today and when our electric came back on our prepayment key meter display was blank.   i have read it probably means we will have to have a new meter but I was wondering what happens to the credit we had on there?  I dont know the exact amount and obviously cant tell from the meter now because the display is blank.  If we do have a new meter will OVO know how much credit to put on the new meter?  Apart from the receipt from buying the electric I dont have any way of proving how much we had before the power cut.   also Im on economy 7.  Will my storage heaters come on as usual?   hope someone can help.thank you sammy

Hi, is anyone else having problems with the contact centre? Each time I call, it can take from 30 minutes to an hour with an issue not being resolved and most of the time stuck back on hold. I have called 8 times in the past 3 weeks, assured of calls back which hardly ever happens. The whole issue is a had £700 credit on my gas and £200 debit in my electricity, to me an easy fix, transfer £200 over and refund my my balance. This call took over an hour to do, to be told my gas smart meter hasn't worked for over 2 years, so cannot refund until they get a meter reading. I've explained on every call, the digital display does not work, so I cannot get a reading, so need an engineer to come out and fix the meter so I can get a refund. Again an easy fix, but somehow this seems an impossible task to get an engineer out, even after 3 weeks. Can anyone please help?

My new SMETS 2 meters were installed in mid September.  Since then, there has been no change in my account page.  The last entry there was that my electricity and gas were to be supplied from 5 May.  My smart gas meter does not appear to be sending any data, I’m only getting a feed from the electricity meter.I would like an idea of my usage, given the state of the fuel industry at the moment, I would at least like to have an idea if I will be in for some nasty surprises downstream. 

I have received letters stating that I am entitled to the warm home discount of £150 and will receive it by 20th December. Is the 150 in one go or split between several months, I have never had the warm home discount before and I have a traditional electric meter and not a new smart meter.

Switched away from OVO back in June. In July the final bill was provided at £0.14 in credit on the 18th of July.On the 31st of October I recieved an email saying that a bill was outstanding and that it needed to be paid otherwise my credit score could be affected. The bill is £36.52 from the 18th of July, in direct disagreement with their first bill.Its been 3.5 months and now we owe them. I cant see why a charge is on the account, as we switched provider so arent on OVO to get a charge in the first place.On the 31st of October I emailed hello@ovoenergy.com and got the automated:Thank you for getting in touch.You should get a reply within 48 hours. Had anyone heard about when OVO is going to issue the £150 Warm Home Discount for customers on certain benefits such as Universal Credit ? A friend of mine said she received a letter/message from her supplier stating that she is to receive it on her next bill. I've been moved to ovo. My current gas payment card isn't working. I'm not paying £5 my old supplier didn't charge. I can't get on ovo app to see if I can get a bar code. 

I used Ovo while renting a home in Cambridge. I was paying the appropriate amount for the gas and electricity I was using. When moving away from the UK in June, Ovo posted a final bill saying I owed over £8,000 for the gas I used. Immediately working with customer service reps, it was very obvious to the Ovo reps that it was a mistake in their system and that they would fix it. I went through everything I paid Ovo during my time there, and calculated approximate gas and electricity. It’s very apparent that I have paid for my gas and electricity during my time there and the Ovo representatives agree when I spoken to on the phone.  Every time I speak with Ovo customer service, they tell me that someone is looking into my case and they will get back in 3-5 business days. Hi 👋🏻  I currently have electricity with OVO and my IHD is paired and working fine , I’ve just switched my gas supplier from eon also to OVO when the switch is completed on the 29th will my OVO IHD automatically display both gas and electricity instead of just electricity as it does at the moment ?  thanks in advance 

Why, when I faithfully provide meter readings on time, each month, does OVO still give estimated readings on my bills?

Why has my online account lost my meter reading history for my non-smart gas meter?I note that the font has changed on the entry page, so OVO must have made a change to this feature and now that they have made that change, my previous readings have all disappeared.Is this a bug, or a new feature?Do other people see this issue? 

I’m reading a few recent posts on another group that OVO have stopped offering E10, and are now offering E7/E8 or E9, I’m aware that until recently OVO were the only supplier offering E10, can anyone else confirm this. Bit baffling as technically E9 and E10 are very similar - but obviously E9 has 1 hour less, are OVO just looking to save some money?

My understanding is that you put in Actual meter readings on the last day of your current billing period then you get a bill based on those readings If this is the case then why am I getting an estimated reading on my heating meter only on the 30 th September when my current billing period ends on the 8 th October which is when I should submit actual readings to obtain up to date bill for that period  I only have  electricity energy Not  gas 

Hi Ovo, I wondered whether the API that powers your live and historical usage page in the account menu is something you could look into opening up a bit so we can freely access our raw data and also perhaps it may stimulate some interesting community projects? For instance (more sport related), Strava and Fitbit.

Good morning I have recieved the letter from the government to say im entitled to the warm home discount,  but it was sent to my previous address, I have rung them to say it's the wrong address but they said they can't change it, will I need to ring ovo to get this sorted out, or will i not get it , what do I need to do  Shelley 

Why does my meter have to have zero credit before they will send and engineer, when the web page states to ring before your supply disconnects?

HiHas anybody else received an email proposing an increase in Direct Debit on a fixed rate deal with 14 months to run

I posted a question on here recenyly entitled “constantly changing direct debit”. It had responses and comments. I have the emails and notifications on this page to indicate it existed. I have gone to read further replies and theres an error page “page not found” and on my profile it shows I havent started any threads. Please explain why its been removed as now highly suspicious of this forums management. I dont believe any rules were broken. 

I’ve been trying to top up my Gas today however I keep getting the message to enter a valid account number despite it being correct. I’ve also tried topping up my Electricity to see if it was an issue specific to Gas but it’s also saying my number is invalid there as well.The numbers I’m entering are correct and I’ve even copied and pasted the account numbers from my previous email receipts just in case I had been making an error when entering the numbers and it’s still saying they’re incorrect.What is going on? I’m almost out of Gas.

How much do OVO change to have meter tails upgraded from 16mm2 to 25mm2?

Anyone else being forced to change their direct debit due to 'impending debt'?Apparently OVO don't think my current direct debit level will cover the final amount owing for the year, so they've already sent me two letters from their Collections Department, talking about 'how much debt' they think I will have if I don't rectify my payment. Bear in mind I haven't missed a payment and have been pretty good at giving monthly readings, so I'm not in 'debt', as they so succinctly put it, they just think I will be, despite the 'shortfall' being quite manageable.OK, so I acquiesce to this veiled threat from Collections and attempt to increase my direct debit payment. Hi any ideas on how to get a response from OVO here? They emailed me on 22 Aug saying they will increase my direct debit from £ 125 to….. £ 380!Some investigation revealed this alarming increase appears to be caused by an OVO error. The electricity meter reading history page on the website shows a reading of 79927 marked "Manual" on 9 July. No meter reader attended the house. We don't have a smart meter. Hello is there anyone who can point me in the right direction of assistance getting my account sorted as being charged high estimated billing when property was empty and no one is listening.!! Wrote a complaint letter with no response, tried online chat and got nowhere. They are refusing to accept photos of meter, now had smart meter fitted and still not got anywhere as threatening to increase direct debit again on estimated readings! thanks
