I am a first time tenant who recently moved into a home supplied by OVO but I am receiving bills under the previous tenants account. I am non-verbal and have tried emailing and using the online chat service both of which haven't worked. Is there anyway I can resolve this without calling? The property mangers have already tried to resolve this by calling and explaining all this but the advice has still been to call. I also already looked into switching to a more accommodating service but unfortunately still need to set up an account on OVO before I could do so. PS- I live alone and quite far from any family so getting someone to help would be quite difficult. I also would prefer to not have to rely on such methods.

How do I add another account to my account 

I have my FIT set up with OVO but my energy supplier is now E’on Next. E’on requires me to have a smart meter.  Will this cause any issues for the FIT process for OVO and/or myself?

Hi I have an offer on my ovo account for a Tado smart meter for £120 which can be paid up front or in interest free instalments. However, when I go to pay it doesn't give the option for instalments. Has anyone managed to take up this offer and paid in instalments? I have emailed ovo a couple of weeks ago and had no reply.Thanks in advance :)Natasha 

Hello, I moved in April into a property with electricity supplied by OVO. I registered, but there was a mistake - my start date was listed 1 month late (14th of may instead of 14th of april, which is when I actually moved in).I immediately phoned OVO when I saw the wrong start date on the contract. The person I talked to was very nice, but said he could not do anything, but would forward the information to the relevant people, who would be able to fix this issue. It has been almost two months, and I have had no news...I have also sent in an e-mail a couple of weeks ago, but I have not received any reply either. Is there some contact number for the contracts team, or some other way to contact and fix this?

Tariff can’t be shown on my gas account. Works for kWh. But not cost . And no 30mins readings can anyone advise? Thanks 

Hi there, having been surfing this forum I can see that Ovo/Secure have started migrating Secure Liberty 100 meters to the SMETS2/DCC system, but that it will take up to October 2021 to be completed. All sounds really odd when it’s an OTA upgrade by all accounts - just pump it out??Anyway, is there any way of finding out if my meters have been transferred to SMETS2/DCC, or is it luck of the draw when changing supplier and the new supplier either gets readings remotely or doesn’t?I think it’s time I looked around as my deal is coming to an end but meter reading is a royal pain so want to try and maintain my remote readings functionality but not be stuck with the list of suppliers that can read an OVO-installed SMETS1 Liberty 100. Wasn’t this meant to improve customer experience?Many thanks

elderly person living alone, limited usage have had 2 letters saying my direct debit will go up to £149 per month if I refuse a smart meter, can they do this.I understand the direct debit may have to go up because of increase in energy rates thank you

I have a digital economy 7 meter I had to give my old supplier 3 readings, I press a red button and I get the 1st, press it again I get the second press it again I get the third which is the total of readings one and two however it doesn’t say what readings one and two are and which one is the economy 7 reading and I can’t find anywhere on ovo where to enter them

I cannot make up my mind about getting a smart meter. I quite enjoy reading the meters every month and sending the readings to OVO via my account. Anyway, does OVO provide a financial insentive to their customers for switching to a smart meter? Is there a cheaper OVO tariff for cutomers who have elected to switch to a smart meter? I imagine it must reduce the admin for OVO to manage their customers who have switched to a smart meter as OVO doesn’t need to email their customers to ask them to provide meter readings, as well as sending round a guy to read the meter periodically?

HiEventually getting round to installing solar panels (various delays from all sides) and we are being asked by installers: -“Is your three-phase smart meter (Aclara SGM1433-B) a ‘Vector Sum Supply Meter”?Does anyone know how we find this out as the Aclara documentation doesn’t seem to confirm one way or the other…Thanks 

Firstly. I should point out that I work on the technical side of smart metering so I do know a lot about the system and how it works.I originally had smart meters installed by OVO in April 2021. I live in the CSP North region, so that means Arqiva radio network Comms Hubs (EDMI). The Comms Hub did not have a signal at that point but I believe this is reported and DCC then have to address the coverage issue within 3 months. 3 months later, no improvement, but I left it for a while. About 9 months later, I noticed that the WAN LED was indicating a connection (LF flashing), but no HAN connection to the meters. I then had another visit from OVO who ripped all the existing meters off the wall (new asset provider) and recommissioned the whole lot. The service requests to add the electricity meter did not complete and I am now left in the same situation. The WAN is showing as connected. I know how to join the electricity meter and can probably work out how to join the gas meter. However, I ne

We have a 12 panel array which is feeding into our  Pylontech US3000 battery. On a good day like today our battery is 90% full the panels are producing 2.97kwh. As our usage is low at this time, 2pm, the energy produced by the panels is being fed into the grid. we are just about to go onto a new tariff paying 44p/kwh   A new Pylontech US5000 battery will cost £1400. Is an additional battery worth investing in? Not sure how to work it out. We are currently producing between 1/3 and ½ of our daily usage   This obviously goes down considerably in winter months between 1-3kWh depending on the weather.All our hot water at this time of year is coming from the panels via a solar iboost to an immersion heater Summary, half our production on a sunny day is being fed to the grid. What can I do? How many batteries would I need. 

I have permission from Network Power to install 9 kWp on my roof and they said to contact OVO to let them know. I cannot find where to contact let alone who to contact, is there anyone who can help on this forum.

I applied to change my Provider through Uswitch at the end of July. I have been informed by my intended new Supplier that the delay is entirely caused by Ovo failing to amend the database. This has dragged on for ten unneccesary weeks, if anyone knows how I can move this along and switch away from Ovo I would be really grateful. This has been dragging on far too long and I was assured that it was a simple process that would probably only take a fortnight.

Hi All, Started with OVO over a year ago moving from e.on.  So at the time of that move the tariffs sent to the meter by OVO were incorrect - VAT was added twice as I recall. I tried via customer support to get it fixed but to no avail.  I KNOW it does not affect the billing but it does affect the IHD budget/usage display.  In the end I forgot about it - it was roughly right. Moving to a new tariff in March (radically different) I hoped the update would fix everything :-) Well the electricity is now correct but Gas hasn’t changed from the incorrect ones of a year ago.  I raised this with Customer Service and Joseph emailed me “I understand that your In-Home Display (IHD) is missing some data. We have now sent some information to your smart meters remotely which should reinforce the connection to your IHD.Please allow 24 hours from receiving this email and then turn your IHD off and on again and keep it as close to your electric meter as possible (as your electric meter acts as the comm

I have a 3 Phase supply to my house. Years ago it had a commercial site here hence the 3 phase. I get humongous electricity bills. Scottish power have finally said they a have been billing me incorrectly. Before all this lockdown they were ringing every week for a reading. Told me to cancel direct debit to them until they could sort it out. For the last two weeks I haven’t been able to speak to them ..no one in the call centre because of covid19. I have been taking the reading and keeping them. I took a reading last week the top figure was 563999 this week it is 564696. Does that mean I’ve used nearly 700 kw ? Surely not !! There are no decimal points on my display but I’m praying that the last digit is ignored on this type of meter and the usage is 70kw which would be about right because there is only Me and my husband living in the house. paid £26 for this ihd6, looks like it can’t be paired, rang my providor who said I needed and installcode, not something it came with. No looking at the ivie bud at another 54£ thinking i’ve paid 26£ on ewaste, are these ihd6 only work if sent by providor?

Hi,We purchased our property with solar panels a couple of months ago. The previous owner provided two readings, solar panel tall and solar panel export (meter) readings. I’m not sure where he took those readings from, would it be from the smart meter where i would normally provide my electric meter readings from? Or would it be somewhere else? I also have the below device (see picture), but the reading only shows import and not export. I’ve also contacted OVO asking them to explain what readings i need to provide and by when something i am still waiting for a response onthanks in advance 

I was sent my refund in the post as a cheque. Only the cheque is printed at the bottom of the letter that was sent. In order to cash my cheque I need the reverse but there is nothing on the other side of the paper. How have others dealt with this?

I check my meter readings and usage figures on a daily basis. Since 6th April that data has not been updated online (browser) or through the app. Something is being accumulated and increased daily against the 6th instead of spreading over subsequent days as it should. Half hourly data is, of course, missing.Here is a picture from my IHD for the 6th. Note that WAN and HAN are connected and daily data is displayed for every day on the IHD. So for the 6th my total energy usage is a plausible 29.30 kWh.Now if we look at my online data it is a shambles. I have not changed plan/tariff since fixing last September, but something has gone very wrong. I assume it's just me as I've looked for other reports and found none, but online message chat-bot refuses to open and phones are closed so I'm stuck with posting here.If someone could feed the hamster and get things moving again I'd be delighted.

If you do request to switch to Single-Rate, your Smart Meter can be updated remotely via SMETS Commands, so you won’t need to have it replaced or have an engineer visit to disable Economy 7 mode. I hope this helps. If you need any more advice on what Economy 7 is or what it means, we’ve got some great guides on the Forum like this one. But if you’re still confused, feel free to ask. :)  I'm sorry, I'm not with OVO, but a Google search for my problem brought me here and I think this is the answer I was looking for! My tariff is currently single rate, but until last month my supplier couldn't communicate with my meter, now they can. (Before they could, they just set the day and night rate charge to the same amounts).
