I have a very specific issue and I’ve been reading forums looking for a solution for weeks now. Please someone help me where to even start.? Same amount of power drawn from grid with Solar turned on or turned off. BUT if the usage is less in the house than the generated energy by my panels, drawing from the grid stops and it is actually exporting back to the grid. I have a smets1 meter. I did a test the other day. Turned off everything in the house except one appliance which draws 1 KWh. It was sunny so my panels were generating constant 0.5 KWh. I have a Netthings energy monitor hooked up to the Consumer Unit. This showed me that I am actually using 0.5 KWh which is correct as half of my energy was satisfied by my solars and half drawn from the grid. BUT after one hour the smets1 meter outside went up by 1 KW meaning that it completely ignored the solars. I did another test. Same thing, only one appliance using constant 1KWh. Solars turned off. Got the same results - 1 KW up on the sm

I’m not on a fixed Tariff, I have smart meters, and although I’m always in credit, in fact recently had a large refund, so why are OVO increasing my direct debt an extra £73? I been on the phone to their customer service for over 45 minutes, without speaking to anyone,  appreciate they must be busy but that’s ridiculous. 

Photovoltaic system (PS) installed on my house in 2019.  Utility installed a smart meter.  Utility bills were reduced some, but never was able to bank energy credits.  In May ‘22, I noticed  meter had stopped working.  It read “Er0000002.”  Still received power.  Checked our bills; They have been $0.00 since January!  Free electricity is nice, but I wondered if the power the PS made was going into the utility lines.  Installing company came out and said the inverter is bad; will be replaced.  That was today.  Question is, “Coult the PS damage the smart meter, or did the smart meter allow the PS inverter to be damaged?”

The kWh displays on my new Alcara SGM 1411-3 Smets 2 smart meter are in whole numbers, but I need to see them with 2 decimal places as on my PA meter.How can I change them

Is anyone here familiar with Solis hybrid inverter. I have just installed one with a Puredrive 5kW battery. I was flicking through the menus and found running messages. This page shows a ground voltage of 195V. What is this and is it a problem? Pictures provided below. 

Anyone know why my account is substantially in credit. It’s far too much to be anything but an error! anyone else had the same? 

We renewed our OVO energy contract just 2 months ago to the 2 yr fixed price plan. Having been customers of OVO for several years they had lots of info on our energy consumption. The offer of a two year fix at £118 per month seemed too good to be true since we had been paying £140 per month. I queried the amount several times when we signed up but was assured that £118 would cover our costs. Today, just two months into our contract we have been advised to increase our monthly payment to £128. Whilst we have probably used more gas in the last 2 months than last year due to the cold winter, it seems incredibly quick to make us start to pay more. A good summer could soon reduce our gas bills! I fear it's as we thought - a low offer to tempt us to renew our contract and then bump up our monthly payment. Has this happened to anyone else? And how did you deal with it? Sit it out hoping your consumption would even out over the year, or increase your payments?

I’ve been charged £30 exit fee after accidentally picking a new plan while checking my bill /usage.  Called OVO straight away but closed.  Emailed 15 mins later to advise it was an error then called the next day.   I was told I wouldn’t be charged for anything ie exit fee and electric would be charged at my normal rate.  Just logged into my account and I’ve been charged the £30 exit fee and electric at the new plan rate.  Why is this when they clearly said there would be no charges.  Anybody else had the same thing happen? 

I'm over £900 in credit. My ovo app is saying i can apply for a £500 refund. When i try to di this it informs m6to phone a number. I have tried this and have had trouble getting through. I have a smart meter my contract ends the end of the month, could this be a reason for not refunding me. Will i automatically get any refund paid at the end of the contract. Thank you 

Could anyone advise who or which department I need to e-mail at OVO to ask about a one-off discount.I should explain that about this time of year I do the laundry for the local “coats for kids” program, which is where old children's coats that they have outgrown get recycled to children that don't have or can't afford them.  I fund this out of my own pocket because I went to school in Sheffield in the mid 1980s  (All Saint’s, Granville Road) that had a pretty mixed demographic including some of the poorest areas and quite honestly watching your friends freeze in winter in the north of England isn't pleasant and if It's something you remember vividly 35+ years back it was pretty bad.  Past few years it's been around a 100 laundry loads, but with the cost of living crisis I suspect it's going to be more this year.I hate asking, but between the hikes in the cost of living (Brexit the gift that keeps on giving) and the tripling of my electricity costs it's something I don't really have a c

At the end of November last year OVO Energy's metering equipment in my home failed and had to be replaced. In April this year OVO Energy performed a Direct Debit check-in of my account following the renewal of my contract in March. This produced an estimate of my annual consumption which was 48% greater than for the same period last year! OVO Energy then demanded that I increase my Direct Debit accordingly.Within three days I messaged OVO Energy Customer Services pointing out the error. This was ignored, with the result that a further seven days later OVO Energy sent a message advising that they would be compulsorily increasing my Direct Debit, despite me having earlier obtained an verbal assurance that they would not. As a result of my persistence the threat was eventually lifted. Despite this, as late as mid-May, OVO Energy were trying to show that the original estimate was correct.It seems that the reason for OVO Energy's error lies with the replacement of the meter. Hi A lot of people had been saying they will/might be cancelling their direct direct and paying only the amount that they owe, I have searched the forum but can't find out what will if I do cancel it,  so will it be A or B A,  switched from my current fixed tarrif to the SVRorB, stay on my current fixed tarrif As being moved to the SVR will see a huge rise in my future payments come October and JanuaryThanks in advance  

I've just purchased 3 separate flats with the intention of converting them back into one family home. The property has 4 electricity meters-one for each flat and one meter serving the communal areas and fire alarm system. What are my options re connecting all the meters into o e and removing the redundant meters? Would I need the distribution network operator to put in a completely new meter or can they join existing meters up? In short, what's the best way forward given I want to make it a family home and reduce the standing charges?

Now my smart meter shows gas too, I notice without using any hot water nor central heating, when the boiler pumps water around the rads for around 90 secs (I gather it’s to help stop the rads silting up), it also lights up during that time, though the outflow pipe hardly gets warm. The result is 0.15kwh of gas used, EVERY HOUR or so.No gas is used when the boiler is switched off. Does burning gas help prevent silting up?Or are boiler makers just oblivious to waste?Can I somehow stop the gas usage when it’s just pumping around?(Even in winter the central heating is off at night, so why use gas then?)What’s the risk to the silt situation (I have filters) of keeping the boiler switchedoff when not in use (like all summer just turning it on for hot water)? thanks Danny   

I'd like to view my usage in £ not kWh that doesn't help me see what I'm spending 

I keep a careful eye on my energy usage every month and calculate what my charges should be for the forthcoming year by factoring in price increases. This has worked well for the past couple of years and I finished last year £19 in credit. When we started this current year OVO calculated no increase needed, but my calculations for the coming year indicated that I should increase my payments by £10-£11 per month, but now OVO will not allow me to increase by less than £21 per month. This figure has increased since last month and is probably due to a heavier than expected gas (heating) usage during May/June. OVO have applied this increase to estimate for June/July and the coming year. It has been 33C this afternoon and the heating is off so I don't expect such an increase in heating for the coming month. OK, we can't predict the weather, but since my year runs from May -> April, we are in credit for almost all of the year. If necessary, I would prefer a further increase later in the y

Hello,I have a smart meter and a IHD but my on-line account whilst showing the KW/H for both gas and electric shows no values (unavailable) for all subsequent months since April 2020 - only March 2021 has any £ values  - why is this?thanks

I was moved from OVO to Boost, and a prepayment meter, years ago. How do I now switch back to OVO ?

My usage graph on the web site is showing electricity usage of between 0.7 and 0.11 kwh per half hour overnight between 10.30 pm and 6.30 am.  During the day, my usage is as expected, but there are lots of 30 minute times when my usage is zero, so the overnight cannot be appliances that are continually turned on?I then looked at a time when I was on holiday, and virtually everything in the house was turned off - this was in the summer, so no heating, immersion heater, all pcs and tvs turned off.  In this case, I had between 0.5 and 0.7 kwh between 9pm and 5.30 am, and virtually zero during the day?What could I have that uses electricity overnight but not during the day, or is this not a true reading?

My Aclara Smart Meter SGM1411-B is displaying the “Reverse Run” Symbol. Is this OK? We have some solar panels.  

Our fixed rate ends on 21st October and we’re being moved onto OVO’s variable ‘Simpler’ tariff. Seems we have no choice about this - they’re not offering any fixed rates.  We have c. £350 credit on our account. Does anyone know if this will automatically be used towards (lol, “towards”…) our first bill after we move to the variable tariff? Or do we have to contact and instruct them specifically to put it towards the bill?

HiI'm just recovering from the shock of my new renewal quote and feel it has greatly improved the economics of solar cells.  My main house roof is east/west but i have a well  placed flat garage roof. Has anyone  experience of installing pannels on a garage roof? What sort of area do I need for a typical three bed bungalow with retired occupants? Thanks
