My OVO energy

I’ve not seen this issue before but today (20th May) I went to get my May gas usage and it was only reporting up to the 15th. I looked at the day report for the 15th which was there but then I was able to right click right through to the 18th May and get the daily usage. Back to the month view and it is still only showing usage up to the 15th. Electric usage is being reported correctly as in the combined month report. This has to be an data processing error as it looks like the gas meter is reporting the data correctly.ThanksPeter

I’m looking for a bit of help and advice if possible. I have had a ‘smart’ meter fitted today but as it is in the basement of the house, it has been unable to get a signal. Basically I was told ‘there is nothing that can be done im afraid’. The reason for wanting the smart meter was to take advantage of the cheap overnight electricity rate which will save us around £500 a year over 2 electric cars.I was wondering if anybody may be able to offer advice on where to go from this point to hopefully resolve the issue or if anybody has had similar issues and managed to find a way to resolve it?TIA

How do I add someone to my account so that they can speak to OVO too?

My billing period is 19 May – 18 Jun 2023. Current charge is zero.I’m paying £136.00 on the 19th of each month. I arrive at the house on May 22nd. Does anybody know why I am being charged £136 tomorrow considering my billing period started in May 19? Is this normal?

Can anyone remember what the fixed rate tariffs for electricity, both standard and Economy 7 were in February 2021? There doesn’t seem to be an archive with this information.

I’m currently on a standard variable (like most people) for gas and electricity. How much extra would I pay if I was to cancel my Direct Debit and pay monthly via BACS on receipt of bill?

I closed an account on 1st Feb, gave the final meter reading, thought all was closed. I still have bills available on OVO and am now being chased for the £67 Energy support scheme which was added on 21st April. The account was closed so why was it applied? I don’t believe we’re due OVO anything. Can anyone explain it to me? Thank you

Hi All. We had our first ever smart meter fitted some weeks ago now which had to be replaced by an emergency engineer a day later as our storage heaters and hot water would not come on. (Economy 7)The new meter seems to be communicating with OVO to some degree but is only using TOU1 and is not using TOU2 at all which displays 00000 kWh. We have agreed a peak/off peak plan with OVO but the IHD is displaying a single tariff of 30.86p per kWh which is not our agreed plan. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

My bill period end date is the 4th which is when I submit my meter readings from the 5th to the 10th when I go online to check the total of my bill every day from as early at the 5th to the 10th I can get a total every day but it is always different each day - increasing always.  I cannot under why there computer has to calculate my readings why it takes so many recalculations over 3 to 5 days to produce the final bill I would have thought all the information to calculate my bill is in the computer and one run would calculate an accurate bill.  Any thoughts or similar occurrence I am On OFGEMs tariff not a plan which I would have thought would make it even easier?

I just opened my door to find a man reading my electric meter. When I said I send monthly readings he replied saying they have to do regular safety checks. Is this legitimate?

Hi, Just had smart meters and new style IHD installed and have a couple of questions please as have no user instructions. 1. By 6.00am every morning (when I get up) it tells me that I've already used around £1.30 of dual fuel on a total spend per day of around £3.50. Why so high when the central heating/water turns on around 5.30am? 2. What do the green/orange/red lights tell me at the bottom of the IHD, (not the meters)? Thanks. Jez

I’ve just got a notice of default letter, telling my that my debt is £0. They’ve warned me that if I don’t call back within 30 days, then they will share my data with credit reference agencies … Or get a court order for the money I owe, which is apparently £0.We have gotten letters for the past few days, repeatedly, even when we paid the full amount, and today just received this letter.Can anyone tell me what might be going on?

I‘m told my next “reading date” is the 1st. June., but the “Help” on the OVO site states “You must give us a generation meter reading before the end of each of these months to get paid for that quarter”. Does that mean I can give a reading any time in June and get paid within the stated 8 weeks from that date?

My Ovo Energy is showing correct daily readings for both electricity and gas, up to today, and my bills show actual rather than estimated readings but I have been sent a letter from Ovo Energy (with correct name, address and account number) saying I need to send them readings because my smart meter hasn’t sent them a meter reading for over 9 months.  Is this some sort of error on Ovo’s part or a scam?

As some of you will know, I keep a close eye on my fuel usage (as many do these days) but yesterday was a particular example. I use a few different data feeds to look at various aspects of both electric use and gas consumption. Although the OVO usage page does now show electrical usage during the current day (approx 1 hr behind actual), it doesn’t show any gas use until the next day. For this I use my Hildebrand/Glow IHD and the Bright app which tracks electrical use approx 10 secs behind time and gas in 30 minute segments. Yesterday I saw this Which confused me as after an initial heating burst on a cold morning, there is usually no gas usage apart from a blip now and then for cooking or hot water. I’m afraid I have nothing positive or supportive to say about OVO in any way, shape or form. I won’t go in to the detail as I don’t have the time or the spirit right now. Suffice to say that they have been unable to sort out a range of issues (related to meter readings and bills) for a vulnerable friend of mine who is an OVO account holder.  This saga has been going on for five months.In all my years of dealing with service industries I’ve never seen (or heard) such an ineffective and inefficient organisation. Why is OVO so inefficient and ineffective?Why can’t OVO actually see the problem and solve the problem? They have all the information.Why can’t they respond to two complaints I’ve written?Why can’t they prioritise this problem as the acct holder is (allegedly) on the Priority Service Register and the case has been escalated?Why can’t I reach the decision makers or get a senior input on the phone?An absolute disgrace and shambles

OVO just sent me a totally bewildering email saying they’re “making some important changes”.Could anyone explain in SIMPLE ENGLISH what these important changes are? Because the email seems like nonsense to me: sentence after sentence which doesn’t actually say anything, just wastes customers’ time, full of strange technical jargon like “supercharged upgrade”, “net zero”, “cutting carbon”, and “powering a more sustainable future for the country”. WHAT!?Half the email is about the “climate crisis”. Why is my energy company promoting political issues? If I happened to be an enrivonmentalist, that would be MY business, nothing to do with OVO. I hate the presumptiousness of it all, treating its customers as though we’re all obsessed with environmental issues. I’m far more obsessed with TRUTH and INTEGRITY.With that said, the email claims that OVO wants to “save energy” and charge its customers less.
