My OVO energy

Hi,  The UK Gov has announced a payment for those single energy customers on oil fired heating apparently that's being delivered by energy suppliers but how is this going to work, OVO don't know I have an oil boiler, so what hapoens Gary

I’m loving Charge Anytime , now I’m becoming familiar with its performance.Was surprised at first that when I plug my car in it starts charging immediately but if I’m patient and wait maybe 7-9 minutes the system takes control, charging stops and restarts when scheduled by the app.The possibly dumb question which just occured to me is this: If I were to run my washing machine while the car is being charged under control of the app, would its consumption also attract the discount? How does my smart meter know which machine is receiving the electricity? 

The Ovo app is not showing the same electricity usage as the web page. I have an EV and I keep check on the power usage on the Ovo app and it has been misreporting usage. In some cases the EV charging has been completely missed. On the 8th Feb it reported that I was charging in the early hours when it wasn’t and then missed the short top up charge about midday and missed the charge commencing 22:00 which was due to carry on to 03:30 on the 9th Feb. However, the web page agrees with my usage. I’m happy with the information on the web page as my costs are in line with what I’m expecting. This is not the only instance but this seems to have started only recently. I can no longer trust the app data.

We have acquired the freehold of a property with  6 leaseholders. There is no separate  electricity supply for the communal areas.  Instead the supply for communal  lighting, sockets emergency lighting, smoke alarms etc.   is all taken from and paid for by  one or other of the leasehold properties.   So we want to rewire the property  installing an extra meter in the switch room  through which  all the power for the communal areas will be taken. The total electricity consumption  for the property should not change and on that basis we have been told the existing  3 phase supply to the property  will be adequate for the purpose.  How should we proceed?

I had a new meter fitted on 2/2/23 and £20 emergency put on it, which has nearly run out, I’m waiting on a new top up card, which hasn’t arrived yet. I also have £20 on my old card that I haven’t been able to use and need refunded.

I have just changed from a Hybrid to 100%EV with 98kWH battery. I have already got a home charger via the OVO scheme and am on a smart meter with the current Simpler Energy variable programme. Is their an EV friendly tariff still running that would be of benefit to me?

Current average monthly electric bills costing £ 500, question with the current energy prices is this similar to everyone else with the same kind of system ? Is the ASHP pump running efficiently at this kind of prices?  

Hi - sorry if this is a simple question.  I have just moved in and have storage heaters and an dual rate meter.  I know my readings when I moved in and I am trying to work out my usage while my account is set up (I’ve not had dual rate before).  I have been round and round the OVO website… can someone please direct me to the night time and daytime tariffs that ovo charge? 

So i’ve recieved the email telling me that Ovo Beyond, which I believe was supplying me with 100% renewable energy, will cease on the 13th March & be replaced by Greener Energy.The difference simply appears to be it will now cost me an extra £10 per month vs £6 per month now?  The suggestion is the price is due to significant price increases ove the last few year but I’m already on a variable rate so my costs have gone up already.  So what’s the additional £4 charge for? I’m all for supporting renewables but what are we paying an additional £48 per year for?

I wanted to leave Ovo, too many issues and disappointments to go into, suffice to say I’ve been banned at least 2x  in 5 years. Tried to go through the switch companies and all of them said no can do… Anyone know why?

HiHoping people may be able to help.Our energy bill has gone through the roof (yep I know I’m not alone here) and I really would like to find a cheaper supplier.Never been with OVO before. Are they any good? And is it even worth switching? Prices look similar but I’m wonderig if OVO might be cheaper in the future?

Hi. New to Ovo so just looking for some help to understand the readings below.It says:Opening reading on 7 july estimated 5157Closing reading as of 28 july (you gave) 5177Units used 221.15 kWh.Am I looking at this wrong because surely the difference between these readings is 20 not 221.15???

We’ve made a recent change that might help: OVO customers should ideally complete these steps in the web portal (online account) first. Once complete, these details will be copied over and available for use in the OVO App. Request a password reset from the online account login page. Select the option at the bottom of the reset email "open this email in your browser" This should then allow you to follow the steps as prompted and login into your account. 

I've just logged on to check my account balance and usage and am massively in credit and none of my previous month's bills are what they used to be.It appears all the gas information and charges have been wiped from my account. My plan details only show electricity details, nothing for gas Is there an issue with this that anyone knows of?

Came home from work to discover that our electric had been cut off! Not I may add because we were in debt to them or owed any money at all. Our meter is a smart meter, and paid each month on the dot by direct debit. We have lived here 35 years the house is paid for. 5 months ago I received a letter from Boost saying that a Fiona Stead owed them a considerable a mount of money for her electric. The address was ours, I phoned OVO immediately to ask why we had received the letter and that she had never ever lived here, even before we purchased the house. I was told at the time that it was sent in error to us. Well it’s now turn out after trying to find out what’s happening that because of this person we have be cut off!!!! We have one METER it’s not shared accommodation,?please answer me this? How can you have 2 supplies going through one meter? How can you paid your bills on time and have the app to tell you how much electric you are using and how much in credit your  can they c

Hi, am a forum newbie - I’ve tried searching for this question but couldn’t find it.My IHD seems to be connected to the smart meters OK, and is displaying KWH data for both electricity and gas. However it doesn’t display budget/cost data for gas. The gas usage figure also seems a bit high?Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Is the IHD broken or does it need a reset or something else? Any help appreciated! 

I’m in the habit of cut and pasting my usage cost date into an ongoing spreadsheet. The costs for one day in December were wildly out of kilter with the rest - impossibly so - and I was about to cut and paste the data from the website to ask Ovo what that was about. Yet I now find that all of the data for December - apart from the first two days - is different from what I captured from it two months ago: It has been changed.The three columns on the left are the December data when I captured it (and 31/12 is obviously ridiculous - even if I’d accidentally captured the wrong month, it could never be right. The three columns on the right are what the website now shows.Anyone got any insight into what this could be about? Decidedly dubious in my eyes...  

Hi as anyone heard of power rewards on play store is it worth down loading ?

HelloMy eldery mother has recently switched to Ovo but has struggled to understand what needs to be done and how she can manage her account.  She has had a 15 page pack sent through with a customer number but no Ovo ID (from what I can gather) How is she able to create an online account so she can check her service and raise queries etc? As she was getting nowhere with the customer service team she called back to cancel and she was told that she was unable to do so.  Her switch date is the 7th of September so she must be covered by some form of 14 day cooling off period.  That said, she is happy to remain a customer and switch providing she can get to her account.  She doesnt appear to be able to find an OvO ID which the website says is required for registration. She has a customer ID though Can anyone help or can customer services explain why she is unable to cancel prior to her switch date? Thanks

I have two open support cases - one about incorrect move in date (opened mid November 2022), and another about incorrect meter serial number (opened end of November 2022). I called OVO multiple times. In the beginning they were saying it would take up to 45 days to resolve the case, which is bizarre in itself, but now it has gone beyond that for both cases, we are at around 80 days now. The support personnel on the phone are extremely unhelpful - they simply do not know any additional information, they just say “I see it is in progress”. Any advice?
