My OVO energy

Anyone had this situation please....Had my meter  for years , ( Traditional) received NEW key today from OVO , but just topped up OLD key , so do I register NEW key ,after I,ve topped up with OLD which could be a while as I top up in advance ,and at the moment there is plenty in there .Or is it going to be a situation where my OLD key is not going to work and I loose my recent top up? Or will it still work and I can load my top up as usual,  Then  I activate the new one....sorry if thats confusing…Ps/ Just to be clear, Its not a smart meter,its an old style one.Thankyou.

I change a new boiler today and the engineer dismantles the gas meter during installation. However after install the new boiler and put back the gas meter, they found that no gas go to the boiler . How can I do?

A shame to see OVO fined for their performance in the smart meter rollout. The highest fine, even worst than the old SSE.https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/publications/energy-suppliers-pay-total-ps108-million-not-meeting-smart-meter-installation-targets-2022I really hope OVO focus on some of the basics like this over the next year.In their recent plan zero report OVO said  48.2% of their meters were smart at the end of 2022. My mum has storage heaters that come on at night on economy 7. She wants to change them to standard heaters to be used during the day. The storage heaters spurs are fed from their own DB which is supplied from a Aclara SGM1415-B meter from the second contractor , no.5, which is powered up at night for economy 7. She was given wrong advice from OVO in that if she changed to a standard tariff this would enable the supply to be on all the time. She has now been told this was wrong and she needs to get all the supply to the spurs feed from the other DB, non E7. Can’t the smart meter just be configured to bring the supply on all day from the old E7 supply now as it is on a standard tariff. Surely they are called smart meters for a reason. Or do I need to go to Distribution Network Supplier for advice? Any advice given will be much appreciated.

Last week on 31/10/2023 I top up gas with £20 and I used the heating only 3 hours in rest for  one week I didn’t use the boiler or something else. Yesterday I called OVO to changed the name of account, with my name and when I verify the gas and electric meter the money disappear. How comes this from 31 Oct till 07 Nov £20 disappear ? Thank  you.

Has anyone received their email yet with the final figures for October?Ive had the credit on my account so I know I've met, but curious to know what % i came out at, as i couldn't match my figures to the halfway email, whereas September I was spot on.

Hi, we're on an old fashioned fuse board and are having a new consumer unit fitted. Electrician came round yesterday and says we need an isolator switch fitting before he can do the work. Can anyone advise how i go about arranging this ? Cheers Stu

Hi Guys, brand new customer just switched today. I have added the Ovo charge anytime to my account and downloaded the app.I have logged in my VW ID4 with software 3.0 or above.  I have set the correct location for my vehicle and all I get it the following screen saying trying to locate your Volkswagen.  The VW app shows the correct location of the car. I have tried unplugging and replugging the car in. I have deleted the Ovo anytime account and set it all back up to no joy. does anybody have any advise please?      

First of all, this is a frustrating process!… I have just bought a flat and I am having no joy contacting OVO energy. The one time I did get through, who ever I was talking to, clearly couldn’t be bothered dealing with me and cut me off.The property is supplied by OVO energy for both gas and electricity. I think it is a smart pre payment meter for electricity and the gas seems switched off. I believe the property I purchased had been empty for a number of years. There is an outstand amount on the electric meter. This is now going into the second week, I am unable to move in as the place has no power.  If Someone could advise on how to get someone from OVO energy to contact myself, that would be greatly appreciated. Regards@steviemax 

Hi All, Just been on the National Grid and noticed that they are appear to be paying a minimum of £3 for each unit saved during the 12, or so, upcoming Power Move Plus periods!  Any comments?   Regards, Steve

A question… now that the data monitoring period for the Heat Pump Trials is now closed… is it possible to gain access to live data going forward from the Passiv Energy Monitoring System… I know the email suggests disconnecting it but it seems a shame that we cannot continue to use the system… my earlier approaches to Passiv were not successful and I would like to know whether anyone else on the trial has any success or what alternatives do you use ?… Many thank RAJ 

I have seen that a number of users have storage batteries installed. Given that winter often brings minimal charging via solar PV and most batteries have a cut off level (Li-ion around 10%) how do you manage your system over the winter months?I began by raising the lower threshold above 10% but have recently been charging overnight about once every week but we’re still trying to understand the best way to make use of and maintain it all. 

I’ve recently (15/10/2023) Tado smart thermostat from OVO. The bridge unit is faulty, I have discussed with Tado and they will replace the bridge but I need a copy of the invoice as proof of purchase. Lots of searching and email checks I cannot find any invoice.  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Feeling pretty demoralised as I feel like it is being made deliberately awkward to resolve!

Hi, already had OVO account set up for one property, now other property has been transferred to OVO. How can I add a second property to view online on my account? Each has a separate account number, but when I try to set up a second online account it takes my email address and only lets me see the first account.

Can OVO tell us what email address the notifications will come from so we can flag them as urgent and see them promptly? A text would be better!

So after spending a 2/3 hours waiting on the phone/web chat today sorting out an issue with my gas meter card, I was given a TAG code to go and get a replacement from the shop near me in around 3 hours time.When I popped around to said shop just now around 3.5 - 4 hours later,, they pointed out that the TAG code I was given, typed it down while on phone and checked 3 times, was missing a digit so they couldn’t activate the card on their machine with the partial code I have, However they did just hand me the cardNow my question is, if I insert this card into my meter will it register and then let me top it up anyway?Or would I have to go through the whole debacle again of having to sit in and try to call up and get the missing digit/new code for the card?

Are OVO obliged to replace non functioning IHD (pipit 500) and if so who do I contact as they don’t seem to answer emails?

So, some people are lucky enough, or unlucky enough depending on your lifestyle choices, to live in a house with a Dual-Rate meter. You probably didn't know you had one when you moved in. You checked the area, the schools, the bus-routes etc, but it didn't cross your mind to count the registers on your electricity meter. Of course not... No-one does that...Dual-Rate meters have TWO registers, Peak and Off-Peak, sometimes labelled Normal and Low, or even a cheerful little Sun and Moon. Off-Peak electricity is charged at close to HALF the unit rate.Lemme say that again. HALF. Half price electricity...Usually there are 7 hours of off-peak timing, which is why it's sometimes called Economy 7. Some people think it means Economy After 7pm. Has anyone else had this email today?  

We have an asbestos fuse, which needs to be replaced before a smart meter can be installed.  First the engineer (who was meant to install the smart meter) said he’d request it from the UK Power Networks, who need a D0135 from the energy provider in order to arrange for the works. Nothing happened for a good few, months,  so I contacted customer services. Three customer service agents assured me that the D0135 has been sent, but the UK Power Networks haven’t received anything. Not sure where to go from here. Can anybody help? 

Hello my parents who are in there 80’s has just had to have a pay as you go smart meter fitted to replace a key meter as the screen stopped working anyway the meter is a Aclara SGM 1416-B … the issue is that it’s so complicated to use as all we really want to see on the screen is how much money is in there yet I’ve been pushing buttons A and B and I can’t find it anywhere? I have downloaded the ovo top up app so I can top it up for them and I can see the balance on my phone usually 24 hours behind… but does anyone know how I get the balance on the screen so my parents can see for themselves … I’ve looked high and low but can’t find anything? many thanks 

I am at my wits end. I have spent several hours and complained several times about this. I do not know what else I am meant to do.Around October 2021, the accounts “were updated”. This kicked me out of my account and every time I try to log in it states “oops! Something is wrong”. I was assured in December that the case was a priority and would be sorted in 45 days and I would be kept informed. Obviously that was nonsense and I discovered through yet another call to ovo that no such case had been raised. I am also not receiving any bills. Seriously, how long does it take to fix such a simple issue? On top of this, not one of my formal complaints has been responded to. Absolute farce.
