On my online account, my Meter Readings History (from my smart meter) used to show readings to 3 decimal places. Now it only shows the whole numbers, with no decimal places. So I often get several days in a row with the same reding, as it can take that long to use one unit. Why has this changed? Is there something wrong with the display on my account? Or is my smart meter not sending in the full details? 

It’s 6:45am, and my EV is not charged and has not started charging. I plugged it in yesterday at about 5:30pm.The Charge Anytime app said it was planning my charge to start after 8pm. Then this message changed to ‘planning your next charge’ (ready by 07:00 tomorrow) up until midnight then changed to ‘ready by 07:00 today’It worked fine the two other times I’ve used overnight charging. The Volvo car app shows the cable has connected but is not charging. The Hypervolt app shows no charging taking place, and that it’s under the control of ‘OVO mode’.Not sure what to do next as all the apps seem to be working and charger is locked into car - help!Any advice appreciated  

Basically as above.i have tried online but it just says am already on charge anytime and doesn’t give me a option to add a monthly subscription.i have tried the charge anytime app but that says monthly subscriptions are handle via the website and wants me to login via the website.went on chat but the person just kept asking what I needed help with.so am kinda stuck now.

I’ve recently bought a house which has solar panels already installed (no battery storage) along with the FiT Scheme. I have transferred ownership and I just have a few general/basic questions regarding the solar panels/FiT scheme. I’m only querying this as my neighbour in the same size house/same number of occupants (2 adults) is roughly £40 a month cheaper than us in energy bills without solar panels.I have just submitted my first generation reading to OVO and will receive my first payment in December. OVO have said that I am paid for any excess energy that I generate. Are the solar panels directly powering some appliances in my house and if so why don’t I see the benefits on my energy bill?  On average we use roughly 380kW per month and have a smart meter just for our electricity. Apologies for the basic questions, I just want to make sure I understand it all before selecting our new tariff. Thanks

Hi all, Could anybody tell me what the actual requirements for a smart metre are? OVO said they offer them in my area, then said “I don’t meet the eligibility as they tried to fit one previously”  We bought the house in 2023. Previous owner was 95 and did not even have internet.  The original metre, has since been replaced by Scottish Power to due during a full rewire it came to light the previous metre had been tampered with. The original metre was also completely inaccessible due to it being behind a built in unit which has since been removed. I have guess to explain this to OVO and all I get is “you don’t meet the criteria, but wont tell me what the criteria is? We own the house, metre is easily accessible.  We have since bought an EV and want to move to an EV Tariff but they all require a smart metre.  Any help is appreciated! 

Hi, I live in Dundee, Scotland which is a fairly large city, senior citizen currently on pre payment meter THTC and know all about the RTS switch off. Made arrangements with OVO to change over to pay as you go Smart meter, Engineer arrived yesterday and couldn't do the switch as the Smart meter failed to connect, he sent the relevant information to OVO that no installation had been made, what happens next?Engineer just said let OVO figure it out, can someone help

Noticed in my Charge Anytime App today it states “CA is moving” and we need to download and use the OVOcharge App to carry on using CA.I don’t remember seeing any emails about this so just curious what (if anything) changes for CA and any impact?I’ve downloaded the new app but it doesn’t recognise my login so looks like it needs a new registration. How will that impact existing CA account, credits and history etc? 

Has anyone else had issues where their new smart meters have been installed but not communicating at all, nothing being shown on display? In contact with OVO (4days ago) they confirmed it was a meter issue and would be in contact, still waiting for the call, and means another day staying in for the engineer, get a grip OVO.

I purchased a new Cupra Born in September.My new car purchase made me eligible to claim 30,000 free miles under the VWG promotion (10,000 miles per year over 3 years).Due to this I moved from Octopus to Ovo.I signed up to charge anytime and was initially being charged 7p per kwh.My first year of free miles was credited to my account - valued at £212.12. I believe this is based on 10,000 miles at a 3.5 mile per kwh charged at 7p per kwh.I was advised that charge anytime would be changing on the 4th November and the charge would be going up to 14p per kwh.However... as I was part of the VWG promotion, I was advised I would be staying on the 7p per kwh rate. This makes complete sense as if I pay 14p per kwh, I would only be getting 5,000 miles a year. I have since charged my car on the 5th November and was charged 14p per kwh. So can someone please explain what is going on and why I am being charged 14p per kwh?

Hi this is the same question I had before BECAUSE I'm getting conflicting info. I took delivery of a Skoda Enyaq in January and I asked if the 7p kWh hour would apply to me . I was told to email charge anytime team (which i did) but was answered on the forum and I was advised I would just keep going with the 7p.I thought I'd double check because when charge anytime did finally respond after 6 weeks and made no mention of the 7p but said I need to register for the free miles. So I contacted OVO via telephone and the agent advised I would need to register my cars SLI order number to qualify. I eventually found it and entered it via the link and was advised it could take 2 weeks. So I contacted OVO again yday and after an 1hr 15 wait an agent (nice guy) advised that I would only be eligible if the car was purchased after the 1st of Jan 2025. So today I received this:

I am using the Charge app and the Hypervolt Pro 3 (bought through OVO) to charge my Volvo XC40 Recharge. It doesn’t work.  Customer service has been woeful. I have to wait for 40 minutes plus to speak to someone, who doesn’t have an answer and who promises to ‘escalate’ it. I’ve had a ‘ticket raised’ which amounted to zero contact. I’ve sent three emails and had no response to any of them.  So what’s happening…The car doesn’t charge through the app. I set the schedule, wake up the next day and nothing. I thought it might be the fact that Vovlo settings have their own schedule internally - I disabled it. It worked. Then it didn’t again. When I looked, something between the app and the car had switched the Volvo’s internal schedule on again. This morning however, that wasn’t the case at all, it was still disabled but the car hadn’t charged. When I went to bed last night the schedule was set for it all to be done by 0700 this morning thr

Having just moved I realised that during the season that OVO supplied me with electricity in Colchester they also fitted me with the WRONG Smart Meter as I was on Economy 7. Anyone have a similar problem and did you get a refund?

I moved into property with all electric which had Smart meter 1 and economy 7 rate.Smart meter was upgraded to a version 2.I believe this was eventuallycommissioned two days later however since being fitted has not worked correctly.Instead of getting 7 hours off peak to heat water and storage heaters it comes on for 10 mins.I know this as boiler had been checked out and the boiler company tested how long off peak was being supplied.Ovo say its on the correct rate.This had been going on for nearly two weeks and despite an escalated complaint still getting no further forward.No one appears to understand what the issue is.Can anyone help.Thanks  

MY IUD says not commissioned, what does that mean. Is it compatable with my meter? i was told by an advisor my Elster meter is old, has it been discontinued? 

I’ve been with OVO for just under a year and the online booking tool still reports that I’m not eligible to receive a smart meter. I understand we’ve had a pandemic but I can’t fathom out why there continues to be a problem. I live in a new build development in Greater London and there are existing smart meters in the building’s meter cabinet  Any advice gratefully received.

The title pretty much says it all. I looked up the website on the Pipit documentation - www.securetogether.com - and they don't seem to exist any more. Do OVO have spare Pipits?

What are the charge anytime wait times? Currently up to an hour now on the phones and took 6 weeks to reply to email. What are the best times to call. This is ludicrous, I've had to listen to the Kooks 5 times - that's unforgivable. 

I have a 2024 Hyundai Kona, since adding the Charge Anytime Add on & linking to my Bluelink account it keeps coming up with  "Charging process successfully completed as configured" which isn't the case. I have to then press charge again via the Bluelink app. This happens within 15 - 30 minutes of charging. The charge anytime app still shows the car as charging when it clearly isn't.I contacted Hyundai and they advised it would be the 3rd party app causing this, is this a known issue and how can I resolve this as I want to benefit from the cheaper rate. Thanka

I have set up an account on the OVO Charge app using the same e-mail address as my OVO account. I am supposed to get a voucher code for £2 off one of the OVO Charge boost memberships for 6 months (effectively making the 'Light' membership free) but I can't see anywhere to get this code. Any ideas??

I'm looking to fit an EV charger in the future but first have to change to Smart meters. I’ve put it off so far as I have concerns that the meters won’t be able to communicate with each other and/or externally due to their locations and hoped the technology would improve with time.The gas meter is in the garage on the original outside wall whilst the electricity meter is in the opposite corner of the property, in an upstairs bedroom cupboard. As such there is ~12m between them, two thick brick walls, a ceiling and two wooden doors.I had hoped that prior to the installation a signal check would be performed to check that both the HAN and WAN would work to allow the Smart meters to be ‘Smart’, not dumb. From the various posts and articles I’ve read on here this doesn’t appear to be the case with many people posting how their meters were installed but don’t communicate and they’ve had to raise this as a problem and wait for various additional aerial, boosters and extender

Hello I have just moved into a one bedroom property (one open plan living area/kitchen downstairs) and one loft space bedroom upstairs. I am electricity only and am racking up useage of £90 a month. I am not using my heating (it's 9° inside!) I'm not using my washing machine or electric shower I can't understand how I'm using so much electricity.  I have been away for work from Monday to Wednesday evening this week and used 29kwh. Is this normal usage for just a fridge, a router and 2 smoke alarms? I'm too scared to put my heating on. I have not lived in an electric only property before so don't really know what is normal monthly expenditure for a one bedroom property? Any help would be appreciated.

I have lived in this apartment for over 3 years now and in that time I have never had a visit from a representative from OVO to read or check the meter despite numerous emails and phone calls to OVO doubting the accuracy of the meter.Over a year ago I booked for a smart meter to be installed thinking this would sort the matter out, I booked a morning off work and the engineer turned up with a meter which wouldn’t fit, He took photos and said he would report back and get another appointment sorted.I sent numerous emails since then, some I got a reply to saying that OVO couldn’t fit a meter at the present time and some emails I never got a reply to !!!A few weeks ago I got a letter from OVO saying they were ready to fit a new smart meter and to make an appointment which I did, I explained on the notes that I didn’t want an engineer turning up with the wrong meter again as I was having to book unpaid time off work, I sent photos of the meter enclosure which had num

I had x12 440w panels and a 9.5 & 5.4kwh GivEnergy batteries fitted earlier this year and I am really pleased with performance. This will be my first winter using Battery Boost and to date I am not sure about it especially when the heating will be on fully (electric only with no heat pump). I find it to be too intermittent, I would prefer to wake up with a minimum of 50% in the battery.Those of you that have had battery boost for a while are you happy with it? Many thanks.
