Has anyone ever heard of gas trickling out to appliances when it's turned off at the meter? Or a drip, (ie "sometimes the amount that drips through is too small to charge, so these charges only appear every so often when a certain amount of gas has dripped. Gas lines are like water lines, they will send gas to the appliance even if they are turned off. ")? These are 2 of the, to us, very strange reasons we've been given by Ovo staff for charges on our online gas account being added when our gas is turned off at the meter and all appliances turned off. 2 days ago, for example, there was over 4kWh of such trickles or drips in a one hour period when the gas was off, all appliances were off & we were out of the house (out if a total of 6.5kWh for the whole day!) We are at our wits end with this, we've been trying to get Ovo to sort this out for around 4 weeks now. We are pensioners, and, to be honest, it's making us ill & we really don't know what to do next. All we want is for som

I have solar panels and a battery, and a smart meter. I don’t have an EV. I’m on a simpler energy tariff with OVO which costs 25.86p a kwh. I’ve seen tariffs elsewhere which offer a cheaper rate to allow me to recharge my battery for a few hours a night; and thereby maximise use of my battery, and increase my savings. Does OVO provide such a tariff? If not, then why not? Especially since they appear to offer such a tariff for ev owners. I’d rather stay with OVO but if there is a better deal elsewhere, then I’ll jump! 

Well I avoided using anything but television between 4pm and 7pm all September.  They have told me my meter wzsnt sending readings so they couldnt assess if I had reached the target.  Yet they have my daily usage readings online. Im beginning to thinknthis is all one big hoax

If successful when is the power move credit added to  (subtracted from)  the bill? I was invited to sign up part way through August and got notification that I had achieved the target but should my (pro rata) power move credit come off August's bill or is it off September’s bill? (I did phone Ovo to clarify but sadly the very nice man I spoke to was not aware of power move at all ….  @Tim_OVO as power move has been around for nearly a year it did surprise me that he was unaware.My apologies if this has been asked and answered elsewhere - just point me in the right direction - thank you. 

I signed up October 3rd for power move to save energy between 4 and 7pm.The problem is my smart meter was sending daily readings up until October 3rd when i switched to the meter sending half hourly readings. How will ovo know if im saving energy between 4 and 7pm?  

I believe I am entitled to a £200 payment made directly to my electricity account, as I have no gas supply and use heating oil. Does anyone know when this payment will be credited 

Hi.  I am trying to see the ‘Energy to User’ data so that I can download it together with the ‘Energy from Grid’ data and then can calculate the energy provided by the panels and inverter.   Does anyone know why I can’t see the Energy to user data please?thank you in advance for the help.    

Finally got through to OVO support this morning - and (not entirely unexpectedly) have now been told my account is NOT flagged to receive the £200 Alternative Fuel Payment automatically … I know that there WILL eventually be a process to apply manually - although heaven knows how much longer that means we’ll be waiting to receive funds originally promised last October … but I’m at a loss to know why our account hasn’t been automatically flagged as eligible and wonder how many others are in the same boat.We have lived at the same address for almost 30 yearsOur supply was moved to OVO from SSE last summer - we had been with SSE for many years - therefore we clearly have a relationship with an energy provider.There is no main gas to the village - this is confirmed by the inclusion of our postcode on the list of off-gas-postcodes compiled by X0serve (Link to Xoserver provided in this government document:https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_d

So I had a smart meter installed on Wednesday. Now it’s Saturday and it’s jumped from £0 to over £90!!! There is no way this can be right as that’s almost my direct debit amount and I’ve never had issues with dramatic under payments. Energy consumption over the last 3 days hasn’t been higher than normal, if anything it’s been lower! The gas reading seems accurate but the electric usage is way too high! Any suggestions as to what may be causing this?

Hi , I wondered if anyone else had come across this problem. I’ve repeatedly contacted customer service to ask for a smart meter as the online booking won’t let me. Each time they have told me there is an issue. But they can’t tell me what the issue is. They first asked if I’d ordered one before then not allowed access or something - I pointed out no,  I’d only just bought the house and never had an account with them before. Next time they told me it was a problem with all smart meter installations. Next time when pressed and pressed they admitted it was just mine. But each time they say they don’t know what the problem is and will pass it on to be sorted  and someone willget back to me - which they never do. Last time they told me that the request for it to be sorted had simply been cancelled. Do I need to change suppliers to get a smart meter? 

Issue with 0330 175 9669???I have been on hold for 50 minutes. Before that 25 minutes but the line was cut off. Is something big going on??? Really odd. Should I stay on line???

Most of the data I download from the on line monitor for my Luxpower Hybrid inverter makes sense. The data includes total figures for the day for solar production, power imported from and exported to the grid etc. but not a total self-consumption figure. When I log onto the monitor there is a headline display of some daily totals. These DO include consumption for the day up to the point in time at which I am looking at the monitor. That’s fine as far as it goes but I don’t wish to stay up until 11.55pm every day to check how much I have used. There is a “PLoad” column in the data. It shows non-cumulative figures at 5 minute intervals eg around 150 to 250 for background use like lights, fridge etc and about 2500 when something like the oven is on, so it looks like watts. However yesterday, for example, the total for that column was 95414. By comparison at 9.19 pm when I looked at the monitor the total consumption was 8.1 KWH. So what is PLoad showing? What units is it in? and how can I

Need to buy a new cooker,  should I choose all electric or dual fuel 

Recently tried installing Tado v3+ wireless starter kit but left me with no power to boiler worked out the cable asked to replace in instructions was power to boiler so put both Tado and boiler L and N cables in the relivant ports in boiler and had powerhowever when it came to test, boiler didn’t fire. was previously using Salus RT520 thermostat, unsure whether this is wired or wireless to boiler tried the Tado support with no luck, they didn’t seem to understand.

I was in the previous Power Move that ended in March or April (whenever the winter one ended  😋) but never got an invite back until yesterday September 6th!

Hello ,I have purchased a new Secure pipit 500 IHD and would like to know how to pair it with my meters .I am on Payg gas and electric and have been waiting about 6 months for Ovo to deliver a new display but they keep saying they dont have any stock so i bought one myself it took three days to get a brand new one .i have contacted 3 different advisers who keep asking for various numbers off the device… mac number ,install number etc but after about 40mins of either live chat or phone calls they just disconnect the call so obviously they dont know how to pair the meters with the devices .doe anyone  have any ideas because the app is next to useless for keeping track of the amount of credit i have and the displays on the meters are really hard to read when i eventually squeeze into the tiny cupboard where the meters are thanks in advance for any help

Reading these threads has been very helpful, and I found an issue that almost exactly matched mine at:I contacted OVO customer service via the chat to see if they could take me on as a customer with my profile (domestic residence with a 200amp 3-phase CT meter and a kVA of 135). After 30 minutes I finally got someone’s attention and was told by the agent that they could not talk to me until they had a copy of my title deed with my signature. I sent them an export of the title register from the land registry and was told this “proved nothing”. I also offered to send a copy of my passport and council tax and was told that would not suffice. It is unclear to me if agent even read my question. They said they worked in the “Pay go” department. While I am sure I can get a hold of this document, it may take several days to request an official copy, and it seems very strange to not even be able to answer a customer service question without it. Hi, I’m hoping for some help in finding a system that allows me to monitor and adjust house temperature remotely. The house is heated via an Ecodan air source heat pump with underfloor heating downstairs and radiators upstairs. Currently we have one wireless thermostat which allows us to set programmes as well as measure the temperature for a target in whichever room we leave it.  I don’t think we need anything complicated, but want to be able to adjust the target temperature and programmes remotely. Even being able to initiate a hold temperature remotely and then cancel it again to engage the programmed settings would be fine.  I’ve had a look at various smart thermostats but compatibility seems to be an issue and the in-house app by Mitsubishi gets aweful reviews.  Any help or advice very gratefully received! Thanks in advance!

HiThe FIT meter for my solar panels have stopped working. It is showing the same reading since June 2023 which is 3 months ago.Who do you contact? Is it OVO or do I need to get in touch with an electrician?ThanksB Burnett

Hello I have had a new IHD installed and no data of gas showing just electric and the new IHD is same place ware old one was getting both data. Then engineer restarted the electric computer hub but not the gas hub.
