Are OVO obliged to replace non functioning IHD (pipit 500) and if so who do I contact as they don’t seem to answer emails?

So, some people are lucky enough, or unlucky enough depending on your lifestyle choices, to live in a house with a Dual-Rate meter. You probably didn't know you had one when you moved in. You checked the area, the schools, the bus-routes etc, but it didn't cross your mind to count the registers on your electricity meter. Of course not... No-one does that...Dual-Rate meters have TWO registers, Peak and Off-Peak, sometimes labelled Normal and Low, or even a cheerful little Sun and Moon. Off-Peak electricity is charged at close to HALF the unit rate.Lemme say that again. HALF. Half price electricity...Usually there are 7 hours of off-peak timing, which is why it's sometimes called Economy 7. Some people think it means Economy After 7pm. It doesn't...But are you Sure you know exactly WHEN your seven hours are? Many of them are Midnight til 7am, or 00:30 to 07:30... Hi, does electricity use on the weekends, count towards total usage for the month in the Power Move challenge? The FAQs and articles on the website aren't very clear, and I’ve seen conflicting opinions from community members on this forum.

We have an asbestos fuse, which needs to be replaced before a smart meter can be installed.  First the engineer (who was meant to install the smart meter) said he’d request it from the UK Power Networks, who need a D0135 from the energy provider in order to arrange for the works. Nothing happened for a good few, months,  so I contacted customer services. Three customer service agents assured me that the D0135 has been sent, but the UK Power Networks haven’t received anything. Not sure where to go from here. Can anybody help?

Hello my parents who are in there 80’s has just had to have a pay as you go smart meter fitted to replace a key meter as the screen stopped working anyway the meter is a Aclara SGM 1416-B … the issue is that it’s so complicated to use as all we really want to see on the screen is how much money is in there yet I’ve been pushing buttons A and B and I can’t find it anywhere? I have downloaded the ovo top up app so I can top it up for them and I can see the balance on my phone usually 24 hours behind… but does anyone know how I get the balance on the screen so my parents can see for themselves … I’ve looked high and low but can’t find anything? many thanks 

I am at my wits end. I have spent several hours and complained several times about this. I do not know what else I am meant to do.Around October 2021, the accounts “were updated”. This kicked me out of my account and every time I try to log in it states “oops! Something is wrong”. I was assured in December that the case was a priority and would be sorted in 45 days and I would be kept informed. Obviously that was nonsense and I discovered through yet another call to ovo that no such case had been raised. I am also not receiving any bills. Seriously, how long does it take to fix such a simple issue? On top of this, not one of my formal complaints has been responded to. Absolute farce.  

Two not particularly related questions:I recently had my old smart meter exchanged for a new SMETS2 model. The main fuse was removed before this happened, of course. However, I had had an eye-wateringly expensive electric shower just before the engineer arrived and got to work. Checking my half-hourly usage data afterwards, I saw that the data for the half hour immediately preceding the power cut as well as up to the moment he reconnected it were missing. I take it that the usage data for that half hour just didn’t make it to DCC, so I won’t be billed for it. But OVO are sure to be billed for it by the DNO - so do OVO just absorb the cost? Or can I expect an adjustment at some stage?    My meter is set up for E7, although currently the peak and offpeak rates are the same. How do we order a new key for the prepayment meter. This one is causing problems and doesn't always top up at the counter when prompted. Suspect it's just an age thing and we need a new key.

I tried to top up my gas meter but no credit has been added. I have since realised that the account number I was given when I set up the account does not match the one associated with the meter. What can be do about this? Can I retrieve my £35?

I have an EV and I monitor the energy that the car uses. I created a spreadsheet with the date down the side and half hour periods across the top and colour coded the energy usage with conditional formatting to show high energy usage at red and low as blue. I then noticed that  the data for the first two half hour periods is displaced one day earlier than it should be.The two screenshots show the data as supplied and then how it should look. None of the timers on the car start or finish at 01:00. Generally the timers are set for 22:00 to 03:30 which is 5.5 hours of charging. The text messages I get from Renault do not show charging stopping or starting at 1am (02:00 CET). They show continuous charging from 23:00 (CET) to 04:30 (CET).There is also at least one example where even the displaced charging data (1 hour) is completely missing.  If the billing accurately reflects the data then I’m also not being charged for that.I didn’t set out to check the accuracy of the data. Hi there, I am getting regular txt messaging and even CALLS on my mobile number from “OVO” THEY SAY THERE ARE regarding my final bill, is this real Ovo ? if not how do they have my number, my name and knows that I just recently closed the account ?

OVO have doubbled the daily standing charge, this is noyhing to do with the wholesale price rise, which is why the unit price has risen. I have phoned, long story short- one and a half hours, most on hold then cut off.Cannot email their system is down!!!!!HOW DO I LEAVE?

Hi I'm just wanting to cancel my SEG contract but haven't had any luck getting through to the right people at Ovo. I sent an email asking to cancel on 1st September and have sent follow up emails with no reply. I called last week and was told someone would call me back that week but no one did. I've moved from Ovo to Octopus and want to join Octopus Agile for my export of electricity which pays much more than Ovo do 🐙 

I used to be able to enter new rates for my Economy 7 tariff into the Kaluza app on my Windows computer, but the app fails when I try now - I can bring up the page showing two time periods, but the app will not allow me to edit the “start time” field, neither on Chrome nor on Firefox.  The same problem on my Android phone.  However, I find that if I use my (rather old) iPad and try using the Safari browser, then a clock-shape widget pops up when I tap on the “start time” field, and it works!Is it some peculiarity of my systems, or do other people see the same problem? 

I moved out of my house recently, I provided final meter readings on line and rang and spoke to a OVO employee to confirm that we moved out on the date of the final meter readings. Why does my final bill include several days after the date of moving?

Hi there,  I have an MG ZS and I’m looking to have a home EV charger installed.  I can’t do it via OVO as the installer would have to use a ladder to access my electric board, which seems bizarre!  Anyway I’m looking to install a charger and then use OVO EV tariff.  I’m very new to this and have a few questions.  Firstly, OVO bolt on appears to be not available on the web?  Can I use any EV charger or just Indra or Ohme?   If so, does anyone have a view on which is better Indra or Ohme?  Does anyone recommend an installer for Ipswich? 

Hi, has anyone managed to use charge anytime with their Polestar 2. It doesn’t seem to be a choice for me?

I reported my Smart Meter was not working in July last year. Nothing has been done about it, though every month I get an email message about the need to supply readings, which is kind of annoying. The screen on the meter is dead so not even manual readings are possible. When chasing some action on this I received a reply in November saying there was a queue for meters to be fixed, but I would be notified as soon as an engineer was available. As it is now April, it must be some long queue.

Hello all, looking for some advice - the app and website keep taking me round in a loop when I try to tell them I’m moving next week- just round and round the help page and another page saying to click contact us… which takes you back to the help page with no way of contacting them online. Any ideas?

Hi, Will OVO "open the HAN" to allow use of a CAD (consumer access device) such that I can access the data from the Liberty electricity/gas meters? Specifically this CAD. Alternatively is there any other means to retrieve "live" meter data in a less useless way than screen-scraping the Ovo website or a webcam on the IHD? It's an R&D project on combi boiler efficiency. "Real time" heat use is easy using heat/electricity sub-meters with open M-Bs protocols. "Real time" gas use is tricksy. Thanks, M

For some reason, just today my IHD has Emergency Credit on the main screen with a line and green dot saying selected next to it, even though we have plenty of credit for both gas and electric, never shown this before, or is this a new thing, as a I’ve not touched any settings on it?See photos..
