New gas and electricity meters installed in London SW15 on Thursday but not commissioned. Phoned OVO on Thursday morning as requested by Lee (the installer) and was told I would be phoned back in 24 hours, but this hasn’t happened. Have tried to fill in the form for smart meter problems on the app and put in the serial numbers but it responds by saying these aren’t recognised and that I should phone. This means waiting until Monday. I am really disappointed by the lack of response to my request which is made worse by my not being able to get through now. The serial numbers are 22L4******7 and G4F2212******0. Please advise on the best way of getting this problem solved.

Have been on Smart Gas and Electric meters for some time now but in the last month the Gas meter has failed to send any readings to OVO so at the weekend I did a manual read by pressing '9' on the Gas meter and sent these in. Anyone have any ideas why this would suddenly stop working? is there some magic sequence of buttons to press to get this working again? The smart display shows figures for Electric but nothing at all for Gas. 

Ok wonder if anyone is having same issiei have had my Indra pro for 6 months. Always been on Ovo anytime. Have 2 EVs. And charge them both when needed generally using a schedule of 8am for which ever is plugged on however for the last week or so, one car will charge fine , and receive a full 7kw at Ovos discretion and be charged in the morning the other will not. It sits at 1kw charging. If I manually override the schedule it will go immediately to 7kw. So that proves the car and charger are working fine in  unison. But switching back to schedule and leave it overnight it’s just not charged in the morning and I have to charge on public chargers on that car while out and about. But the other car works fine this only started around ten days ago any thoughts 

I think I have a Smets 1 smart meter, fitted over 2 years ago. The IHD I received with it, never worked. Since then I've asked many times, if I can have a replacement. I get told that there is a problem obtaining new units (over 2 years!?) The last conversation said I was on a list to get one. I also  got promised an update, which I never got.  I've heard now that I might not get an IHD until I get an upgraded smart meter? Anybody in the same boat as me? Anybody from OVO care to comment?

Back when SSE were the supplier before OVO took over from them,i agreed to changed my gas from fixed rate to pay as you go and pay of the remaining debt ,i have confirmation letters saying welcome to pay as you go but since summer 2018 no one has came out to change my gas over, same thing november 2018 sent out letters after i agreed again on phone to change it to pay as you go its now febuary 2024 and still no one has came out to change the gas over to pay as you go and now im in quite abit of debt close to 3k now im being passed over to debt collection agency's this whole process has been a nightmare , personely i think they should clear the debt as i agreed to pay as you go and they are the ones at fauly for agreeing to switch me over but not actually doing anything. 

How do you escalate a complaint to stage 2?I have no final statement for gas after 7 weeks. No one is allocated to produce the final statement so Customer services say that the complaints department won’t speak to me. I wait on hold for 50 mins. They put the phone down without speaking when I finally get through. How do you get through to this company? 

We are having a 3 phase meter being installed for an electric boiler. I wanted to know if the meter is a smart meter and will it be compatible with our solar panelsfor the export readings ? 

Hi there,The previous occupants, as OVO customers themselves, left their smart meter for my use. My heating bill is astronomical. Is there any way the smart meter could be contributing? It's a Trio 11? Am I entitled to ask for a new smart meter of my own to ensure it is performing accurately?Thanks!

Currently with British Gas.Had solar panels installed on 19th Jan 2023.Immediately after that date the meter readings INCREASED by approx 50%Br Gas *Edited by Mod* helpdesks were adamant that the meter readings were correct.Now having a conversation via email with a Br Gas agent in the UK who takes the same stance.Subsequent to my complaints the meter readings appeared to correct themselves on 19th February.I am still having difficulty getting Br Gas to accept they overcharged me for the intervening period.In my letter to them I asked for my Smet1 meter to be replaced with a Smet2 - they tell me that I have a Smet2 meter (picture attached)*Edited by Mod* - when checking - it states it’s a Smet1. How can I tell if it has been upgraded remotely and if so when ?Any help would be appreciated.ThanksLes Booth 

A month ago I tried to sign up for fixed rate energy but accidentally opened a new account, no problem I thought, I'll just contact customer support explain what happened and get them to close this accidentally opened account.Support assistant assured me it was all fine and the account was closed, yet a week later I have money unlawfully deducted from my bank as they had not closed it at all. Repeatedly complained telling them this was an issue and have been given nothing but lies, lies and more lies regarding the missing money (in one case they even replied to the wrong customer complaint and gave me someone else's account details). If there is no other way to resolve what should have been a really simple matter it seems like there is no other choice but to take the matter to claims court and sue OVO for the money, but I thought I might post my experiences here to see if anyone else has had similar issues and if there are any other available resolutions available?

Hi there,Obviously this electricity set-up looks pretty old. If at all possible to get an indication from photos, I'd like to know if it'd probably be straightforward to swap over the older style meter to a smart meter. This current set up works fine, no problem, but I'm concerned that the age of it all might mean further works have to be done before an install can take place, adding time and cost.I'm also concerned that older materials can contain asbestos. The area is surrounded by a painted, paper-lined plasterboard. The main fuse & meter are mounted on to a dark coloured board (not sure what it is) and the fuse box (switches) is fixed onto a light coloured board of unknown material. Then behind all of that is a light coloured surface which appears porous...again, can't tell what that is.Does any of this look like it might be an issue or does it look likely that it's ok to proceed with meter replacement?I'd really welcome some help please. I understand that the Ovo API is not intended for non-Ovo use, and any use is not supported by Ovo.  However, the Home Assistant Ovo integration looks useful, so I thought I’d try it.The integration has loaded in HA, but fails to initialize, claiming an issue with the JSON returned by the API.  I suspect that I’m hitting a security lockout that HA is trying to treat as JSON and therefore not understanding.Does anyone know if the HA integration does still work? Is there anything I need to configure to get it to initialise?Thanks!

I am just about to buy a Hyubdai Kona I want to make sure it is compatible with charge anytime and also that the charger is also compatible I have been told that the Kona needs to be 2019 or later- but not told why.also the charger should be an indra also not told why. Can anyone help ensure I get the right car and right charger.  

So you overtook bonnet to get a app for public chargers, which i was excited about until I read that to get a discount I have to pay £8 for 15%… and I am a ovo customer were is the loyalty in that.. Its starting to make me rethink my supplyer, espcially as octopus gives its customers on ev tarrifs charging discounts at public charger via the octoverse app…. mmmmmm

I appreciate that the rate had reduced from 10p per kWh to 7p per kwh back in Nov 2023, but given further reductions in wholesale elec prices since then as reflected in the lower price cap on 1st April, with another reduction forecast for 1st July will we see a corresponding decrease to the ovo charge anytime rate??

Hello everyone, please I need clarification on my Landis gyr E470 Electricity meter and Landis gyr G370 Gas meter. I was sent a health check questions for the meters (Electricity and Gas) with questions that requires me to press 0,9 or 6 for feedback but I can't identify any numbers buttons/keyboard on them. I recently depleted the large credit balance on my account following the end of the Interest Reward scheme. Since the start of April 2024, there has been a warning on my Home page like this:    Now, I’m well aware that I can’t go on paying only £5 a month for long, but the current balance is high enough to keep me in credit into the summer. I plan to increase the monthly payment to a realistic sum before the account goes into debt.Can anyone with experience of warnings like this and what they lead to explain ‘what happens next’? How soon can I expect to be told that I have to increase my Direct Debit? How soon after that is an increase imposed? I’m asking because the Future Annual Consumption figure for my account is far too high, but falling. With any luck, it will meet my actual annual consumption in August or September, but until it does, the recommended DD will be too high. I’d like to pre-empt any OVO-mandated increase. I've recently had solar panel and battery installed but the local Welsh Dno imposed a limit of 2k on the export, which sounds very low. Can they do that I thought they could only impose a limit from 3.6 upwards?

Hello,I want to switch my electricity & gas supplier to ovo.Currently with E & on credit but after an emergency smart meter installation,  my current company are refusing to put me back on payg unless I have the gas turned to a smart meter. Which I do not want. I'm disabled & non verbal. Every time I talk to live chat, they tell me to phone.Facebook messenger, they refer me to live chat. I want to join as a payg customer. Relay UK doesn't work either. I don't know what to do.I have no way to phone. Any tips? Advice please?

Hi i have had my case at the ops dept since February  i had a new smart meter installed january as the readings didnt match the ones ovo had despite numerous photos been sent and the engineer confirming the readings didnt match im still showing a huge bill on my account im constantly in touch getting holds put on my account so they dont change my direct debit to unaffordable amounts its increasingly stressful i just cannot understand why it isnt sorted i feel as im not being believed despite the evidence to support me has anyone else had a similair experience or know how much longer it will take to resolve sorry for the big rant  

Hi, first post.I had a smart meter fitted by EDF a couple of years ago.  It’s definitely SMETS2.  It interfered with my wifi network, but it did work well, for a few days.I complained to EDF about my wifi and they came out and turned the meters dumb - they’ve been like that since.I’m now being told by my current supplier that meters in dumb mode cannot be switched back to smart mode and they need to be replaced.  The meters can’t be replaced as nobody can get hold of them apparently so they won’t come out.Trouble is, I’m absolutely desperate to get them back to being smart again - I have an EV and want to get on a dual rate tariff, otherwise the car will cost more than petrol to run soon!I’m not buying the answer that it’s impossible to make ‘dumb’ meters smart again - so is it true?!Thanks!

Hopefully, someone can shed some light on it, I can’t be the only one affected by it.Hello, With regards to the Power Move...when the clocks went forward on March 31, the system wasn't caught up and still records my usage an hour earlier. Therefore, the current Power Move times are between 6pm-9pm which I have been adhering to. However, as the system is still 1 hour out, it means that my Power Move times are unknown and possibly between 7pm and 10pm. Are you able to confirm please if I am on target to get the Power Move reward, I shouldn't be penalised because of a system fault at OVO's end. If I should treat the Power Move hours as 7-10pm, I am struggling with that. It's a big leap from the previous 4-7pm which was entirely doable. 7-10pm is not though for me, as I need to take nutrition with my medication

Wondering if it would make my heat pump more effective if I built an enclosure around it and had fresh air fed into the enclosure by a tunnel that will essentially pull warmer air into my heat pump?

In 2014 SSE converted our 3 single phase meters to one 3-phase meter. This meant that of the original 3 MPANS, two should be deleted. However SSE did not delete the redundant MPANs. This only became apparent when SSE sold its retail business to OVO. At this point OVO created new accounts for the two redundant MPANS and Ovo have been pestering us for payment for the bills generated for the two accounts.The DNO (SSE) can see that the two redundant supplies do not exist but say that it is OVO's responsibility to get the redundant MPANS removed. I have sent several emails to hello@ovoenergy.com but have had no response.What should I do next?
