We are changing our car and therefore will be removing our Ovo V2G charger. Who do we contact at Ova (I’ve not had a response from the smarthome email address) and do we have to give notice before removing? Do you know do you know if the original Ovo installer submitted a G99 application to the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) prior to installation?
We are getting an EV charger via Motability and have been advised by OHME that we need an isolation switch fitted. Having looked at similar post on this forum regarding the charges for this, does anyone know if this charge would be covered by Motability or is there a different route to getting this installed due to being through Motability.
Does anyone know if a BMW iX1 M Sport 30 is compatible with Charging Anytime? The website says iX1 30 is compatible so to me sounds like it is, but when I called up OVO to check they could not give me any clarification, because as a model, there is no iX1 30, only variants like xLine 30 or Sport 30 or M Sport 30. The charger I am getting is not compatible so I need to be sure my car will be.
My car has not charged at home since overnight last 3 days, anytime charge has worked fine for months and I just charge overnight. I have not done anything other than plug it in as normal the previous evening, expecting it to be charged by 07.30 next morning and it’s not charged. It shows on main dashboard on Ovo charge anytime phone app ‘car unplugged, plug in at home to smart charge’ but it is plugged in, It also does not allow me to charge immediately and when i try it just says pause. many one have similar issues? We’ve seen this a few times and have some tips on how to solve it. You’ll need to be logged in to a specific Volkswagen (VW) app on your phone, and register your vehicle correctly to the right VW login through the Charge Anytime app. Not sure which VW app to use? Check the following:For ID vehicles, the correct app name is now "Volkswagen" For non-ID vehicles the correct app is "We Connect". Please note: the "We Connect" app says you need an ID vehicle to be logged in, this is incorrect, and you can continue without one. If you’re still getting an error message such as, 'Unable to locate your vehicle" - Charge Anytime needs your vehicle to have GPS reactive and location sharing enabled. Please contact your vehicle manufacturer for more help with this.
On the front page of the Charge Anytime app (for Android here, for Apple here), you’ll be able to see when the car manufacturer last updated us with your charging data. There’s normally an update when something changes, like the vehicle location or the charger being plugged in/unplugged. If the Charge Anytime app hasn’t updated since moving or charging, it may be that something has changed. This could be the manufacturer doing a software update, or you’ve changed your password. To refresh the vehicle details just delete and re-add the car from the Charge Anytime app. Go to the Account tab. Click the icon next to the vehicle. Delete the car. Click ‘Add a new electric vehicle’. Follow the instructions on screen. Any issues, reach out to the Charge Anytime team via email: chargeanytime@ovo.com
We have a ford kuga 2022 phev, we have signed up for the charge anytime, however when we try to charge the car it doesn't ever charge properly and causes the vehicle to not power up fully in the morning until left for a while, we have tried to uninstall and reinstall the charge anytime but it still doesn't charge properly.Car charges fine without the charge anytime app. We have a pod point charger and smart meter. Does anyone have any ideas please?
Hi everyone I am trying to connect my VW ID3 to the Charge Anytime app.It passes all the various sections right up until I have to hit the “complete“ button. After that, it says “cannot find your car” “try again or sign out”. When I click, try again, the app freezes and I have to start all over again.Any help. Much appreciated
HiI have been on Charge Anytime now since September. I am seeing credits come through on my bill but they are not close to the savings for the month being shown on the Charge Anytime app. I have tried contacting the various helpdesks but have not got a sensible answer yet….See data below… any help gratefully received!

Good morning, be gentle first post here and looking for some advice…. i am an OVO Customer of many years. i have an EV car on order and its arriving 1st week of March 2023 looking to fit a home charger. ive been reading up about chargers and seen there is lots of talk about Zappi 2 chargers seem to be the best one in the market currently. can the forum give advice on the chargers OVO do and can i use a Zappi 2 with the OVO Anytime and Anytime + rates please ? any help on this would be appreciated thanks
Newbie question: want to use Charge Anytime. Planning to buy Indra Smart Pro charger, since this is on OVO list for suitable chargers. Need to connect to Internet via an ethernet cable, as mobile signal where car is stabled is poor. The ethernet cable comes back to my domestic router. Is this route to connect charger to OVO’s Charge Anytime OK? I ask because other chargers, e.g. Ohme Home Pro, seem to connect via multinet SIM in charger, rather than being hardwired.Advice appreciated. Keith
I’ve a serious issue with the EV charger (OHME) installed by Ovo in June. It’s tripped out three times recently, and when I stood and watched it do it last night (after a few moments charging), there was a very significant smell of electrical burning from the mini fuse box it's attached to. Clearly a potential fire risk. I’ve tripped out the box again, but obviously it’s still physically connected.I initially speak with Ohme as recommended on the Ovo Charge anytime site. They back-heel it saying originally they can’t find my installation details (ovo mustn’t have sent them to Ohme). I provide them and the pictures requested. Ohme then back-heel it a second time saying that it’s actually the job of the installer (Ovo) to come out.I speak to Ovo charger team who try to back-heel it saying it’s a Omhe issue.(i.e both companies passing the buck)To me it’s clearly an Ovo issue as they provided the equipment AND installed it and until it’s looked it ..I’ve raised a complaint which can
Hi,I’m in the process of purchasing an EV. Before the charger install I’ve been advised to have the meter tails uprated and an isolator switch fitted before my electrician fits a new consumer unit and installs the charger.I have been charged £264.25 for OVO to carry out the work in the meter cupboard. Thinking this seemed a bit much I did some research and came across this price list by OVO. DP isolator says £158.25 but has no mention of the meter tails. I called my DNO and they said the tails are normally updated during any work carried out by the supplier like a new meter. My smart meter was installed last year and the old tails were left in place. So my question is, why have I been charged £264 for an isolator normally costing £158 and the DNO says meter tails are normally updated during any work carried out as they are not my responsibility and down to the supplier to ensure they are safe and sized according to the demand required.Many thanks.
Ive been using the Charge Anytime app with Podpoint/Audi Q4 Etron successfully for the past month with no issues. Last 4 days the car is charging immediately or not responding to the Charge Anytime schedule (ie not charging) and Im getting NO savings. What has changed?? Its literally a month (22 March) since I installed and stopped working 22 April?
Ive just gone onto the OVO drive tariff and want the Anytime Plan But I already have a Pod Point charger at home. Will the Anytime work with Podpoint or will I need to change the charger? I have a SMET2 smart meter.
Hi, I am hoping to pick up my first EV this weekend and have a few questions. I've spent hours researching but still have a few questions! The car is a VW e-Golf which is not compatible with OVO charge anytime so will have to get a compatible charger.Ohme pro was my first choice as it's compatible with OVO and IO and also it's seems very popular. But unfortunately I don't like the look of it especially the cable bracket and holster. So I am now looking at the Indra smart Pro - Is the app compatible with OVO or do I have to use the Indra web app? I am aware of how Charge anytime works as it uses the greenist time to charge the car. Are there any restrictions on how quick it can charge? For example, I come home with 20% battery and I need it to be 80% within 4 hours. Will it charge to 80% within this very short time? And lastly, with the VW I believe there is an option to preheat the car before driving off, does this feature still work with OVO anytime? Thank you
I bought a house in Perthshire a few years ago with THTC installed so have 2 meters. I now have an electric vehicle, but it would appear that I can’t get the low charging rate advertised (and sent by email to me) by OVO to allow overnight charging. At the moment, I have to pay standard rate to charge my car when it would be cheaper to find an on street charger (not easily found in my area). Surely that is not right?
I picked up a new Subaru SolTerra yesterday.I altered the car on the Kalzo app, altered car on My OVO anytime.I plugged in last night, no charge this morning, all timings remained the same as old car. Kalzo recognised car, still saying waiting for suitable time but time set 7.0am has passes. No juice at all put in. Please can anyone suggest anything as today is Sunday, dealer closed. Thank you.
Hi Guys, brand new customer just switched today. I have added the Ovo charge anytime to my account and downloaded the app.I have logged in my VW ID4 with software 3.0 or above. I have set the correct location for my vehicle and all I get it the following screen saying trying to locate your Volkswagen. The VW app shows the correct location of the car. I have tried unplugging and replugging the car in. I have deleted the Ovo anytime account and set it all back up to no joy. does anybody have any advise please?
