I have the Charge Anytime app all set up and working with my Tesla.

Everything is fine, if I just leave it to do it’s thing, but I have a problem when using the ‘Urgent Charge’ function. Basically it will just stop charging randomly.

I hit the Urgent Charge button in the app and after waiting a bit the car sometimes starts charging without doing anything, and sometimes I have to go to the car app and hit the ‘Start Charge’ button. Either way it will stop charging sometimes after a few minutes, and I’ll have to do it all again. This means that any time I need to charge I basically have to keep checking the car app, which is useless.

Anyone else have this problem, or a solution?

I did wonder if it was anything to do with my partner also having the app. When I set it up on their phone I used their Tesla account credentials (for access to the car), so I wondered if the two might be competing in some way? Both apps will show the urgent charge status when it’s switched on with either of them.

Thanks for flagging this one, @cahrgemeseymour

If you have a compatible electric vehicle (EV), you’re able to use Kaluza’s Charge Anytime app to arrange for your Tesla’s ready by time and charge %. It sounds like that’s what you’re doing.

Please can you flag the issue with the Urgent Charge option to OVO’s Smart home team via email: smarthome@ovoenergy.com? They’ll be able to raise this with the team. We’d love to hear back from you when you get an update!

I’ll do that. Thanks for the pointer 👍

tldr, don’t have two Charge Anytime apps with different Tesla credentials. Remove the excess apps by going to the account page, clicking the user icon and choosing ‘delete account’.

This is the full response I got from the Smart Home team. I also asked how I could remove Kaluza’s access to my car:

"The issue here is that the customer has two separate credentials associated with a single EV. This will cause problems as we are duplicating potentially conflicting commands sent to the vehicle.

Please can the customer delete one of their two accounts (see steps below). If the customer would like to access their app on two separate devices they will need to sign in using the same credentials.

If the customer wishes to remove Kaluza permission to access their car, this can also be achieved by deleting their accounts via the account page in the app. This will remove all Kaluza control.

Instructions for deleting your account:

Go to the account page of the app, click on the user icon on the top right and click delete account."
