Recently bought and had supplied the new tarda thermostat but I’m finding it difficult to locate an electrical company who can fit it for me at the £60 charge that was advertised whilst taking out the offer

Hi There,As you can imagine i am looking to reduce my Elec bill and i have calculated 40% of my elec bill is due to charging my PHEV car at night, so i am keen to get on the Economy 7 Tariff and take advantage of the discount rate timings.I previously have managed to speak to Ovo customer service and was told this is not possible due to having a SMETS 1 smart meter which cannot do a dual tariff required for Eco 7 tariff. I asked if i can get the meter changed but was told this is not available at this time, even if i was willing to pay for the change...After doing a bit of digging on here and online to see if there is anything else i can do, i believe i have a SMETS 2 (Landis & Gyr E 470) meter but linked to a Trilliant SEAP-2001-V comms hub which is limiting the capabilities of the smart meter. I believe this is true after reading this.

Hi I have just moved into a house, there is no gas or electric I have been trying now for 3 days to get in touch with OVOi have been informed that the supply is with OVOon Saturday the lines said it was closed at 11am even though the website says you close at 2pm i have been trying to call since 9am I have been hung up or cut off 5 timesive tried calling trough the vunerable person number and options and again disconnected, I’m getting desperate, I have no electricity or gas and I’m freezing coldplease OVO let me set up an account no one seems to want to help

I have been using their webchat service but they are ignoring me 

Our account homepage says the smart meter isn’t sending a reading and could we help by submitting a reading. But clicking on ‘submit a reading’ leads to a page saying we have a smart meter and don’t need to submit a reading… There’s no email contact on the support page to submit a reading. What’s the solution please?

I've been considering getting a company to do a thermal survey of our house, to see where we could improve insulation and reduce heat loss. But having seen the photos that @hambrook took with his IR camera I'm wondering if it might be better to buy one and do it myself.Has anyone had a thermal survey done? Was it worth the money? Does anyone else have an IR camera and have used it to improve their home? Are there any other views on which is best?

I have read a similar query where it appeared there was a discrepancy between the smart meter and the display unit injtially I thought this might be my issue, but just now doing further investigation into my £20+ / day costs found my meter is showing the same rate as my display  I should only be paying 34p, even if that is + VAT I appear to being charged far too muchmy bills are scarily high, but it would appear they shouldn’t be as high as you are showing me.      

I’m wondering about the significance of the ‘supply address’ as opposed to the ‘billing address’ on my account.This is in part prompted by my smart meter’s stubborn refusal to be adopted by DCC. When I visit https://smartmetercheck.citizensadvice.org.uk, I’m consistently told that ‘we can’t find your meter.’ One possible explanation for this is that the ‘supply address’ is in a different postcode from the meter itself*, and postcodes seem to have some vital role to play in any aspect of energy supply. Is there a dichotomy between these two different conduits?    Blastoise’s link seems to lead to a page for making a complaint. Perhaps OVO don’t expect ever to see positive feedback, but they certainly won’t see any unless they provide a way of submitting it. It’s also possible that a user has helpful suggestions or perhaps has noticed a typo or other inconsistency at the website, but there’s no obvious vehicle for feedback like this. There is a Contact us link on the home page, but it only leads to the help centre. Why?I’m always confused when I see two different things with the same name.

Hi - I’ve just initiated my switch from SSE to Ovo 2-year fixed and I have a couple of questions as follows -  My SSE smart meter was installed several years ago so it remains to be seen whether it will work with the Ovo systems but, since Ovo and SSE are part of the same group of companies, I’m hoping it will be fine.  If the meter is unable to communicate with Ovo, will it still be able to communicate with the in-home display unit?  My meter is not very easy to access and so, if I have to give manual readings, it would be a lot easier to get them from the display unit rather than fighting my way through to the meter itself.  If my existing smart meter is incompatible, how soon will I be able to get a replacement meter installed?     Here is a picture of my meter ...

I am considering buying a house which has an ashp half installed. a huge amount of work/insulation has been done but not completed. The 3-layer radiators have been bought but not fitted. My question is whether the existing 15mm diameter pipework will be adequate? I read somewhere today that ideally it should be 22mm diameter or more.

I was wondering if there is any mechanism by which I could make a small contribution to the energy bill of someone who is vulnerable or struggling to make ends meet. I don’t think anyone would describe us as wealthy, but we have enough to live on and some left over most months and we could during the winter months possible contribute a bit to someone less fortunate. Does anyone know if this is possible through Ovo? Thanks for your attention. 

These meters are pretty ancient looking. Looks like they need replacing urgently !! Please advise. 

Right another query from me. :) I have noticed that my smart meter and my remote for my boiler read different room temperatures.. Any idea why? Had heating set for 13 overnight.. smart meter said it was 15 in the flat.. Turned heat up to 16 after I got up.. and smart meter says its currently 18.. No way in heck its 18 in here..  Why the discrepency???? Is this causing any issues with my usage?Any ideas welcome.  

I pay for gas and electric on a prepayment meter with a smart meter.  Yesterday the smart meter had £33 credit on the electricity and today it has £329. I know we are getting £67 a month for the £400 grant but this is way more. I’ve no idea where this credit has come from. I’ve had no email from Ova about it. Has anyone else suddenly ended up with a massive credit they weren’t expecting?

Hello,Sorry if this is a bit long-winded, but we are getting so frustrated with this matter.Earlier this month, the fitting day arrived for our new OVO electricity and gas smart meters. The engineer was brilliant and fitted our electricity smart meter in no time. However, he was unable to fit the gas smart meter, as the bracket on the old gas meter was broken.We live in a house owned by a housing association and, when we had an annual gas inspection in 2016, we and a neighbour required some work done and, in doing this, the contractor must have broken the bracket on the gas meter, but we never knew about it until we came to have a smart meter fitted. We have lived in the house since it was built and the gas meter was brand new and has been sitting in a meter box in a cupboard, clean and in excellent condition, until the bracket was broken. The OVO engineer also wasn’t sure about the regs regarding the plastic gas pipe coming from the gas meter, as the pip

Hi,My home flooded last week and I'm awaiting insurers decisions. Obviously, trying to heat up and dry out the area that's sodden is going to gobble up energy. Once dehumidifiers and industrial cleaning gets underway, it's going to get horrendous. I want to alert OVO as I'm already dropping £10 a day just heating the worst area on higher radiator setting. Who is best to contact? Is there anything they have in place for unprecedented and unforeseen energy surges usage and charges and would the insurers cover anything to also help?I'm a 70 year old, living with M.E. God knows what the stress of all this is going to do to that!!!!!
