I have seen that a number of users have storage batteries installed. Given that winter often brings minimal charging via solar PV and most batteries have a cut off level (Li-ion around 10%) how do you manage your system over the winter months?I began by raising the lower threshold above 10% but have recently been charging overnight about once every week but we’re still trying to understand the best way to make use of and maintain it all. 

I’ve recently (15/10/2023) Tado smart thermostat from OVO. The bridge unit is faulty, I have discussed with Tado and they will replace the bridge but I need a copy of the invoice as proof of purchase. Lots of searching and email checks I cannot find any invoice.  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Feeling pretty demoralised as I feel like it is being made deliberately awkward to resolve!

Can OVO tell us what email address the notifications will come from so we can flag them as urgent and see them promptly? A text would be better!

Are OVO obliged to replace non functioning IHD (pipit 500) and if so who do I contact as they don’t seem to answer emails?

We have an asbestos fuse, which needs to be replaced before a smart meter can be installed.  First the engineer (who was meant to install the smart meter) said he’d request it from the UK Power Networks, who need a D0135 from the energy provider in order to arrange for the works. Nothing happened for a good few, months,  so I contacted customer services. Three customer service agents assured me that the D0135 has been sent, but the UK Power Networks haven’t received anything. Not sure where to go from here. Can anybody help? 

I am at my wits end. I have spent several hours and complained several times about this. I do not know what else I am meant to do.Around October 2021, the accounts “were updated”. This kicked me out of my account and every time I try to log in it states “oops! Something is wrong”. I was assured in December that the case was a priority and would be sorted in 45 days and I would be kept informed. Obviously that was nonsense and I discovered through yet another call to ovo that no such case had been raised. I am also not receiving any bills. Seriously, how long does it take to fix such a simple issue? On top of this, not one of my formal complaints has been responded to. Absolute farce.  

Two not particularly related questions:I recently had my old smart meter exchanged for a new SMETS2 model. The main fuse was removed before this happened, of course. However, I had had an eye-wateringly expensive electric shower just before the engineer arrived and got to work. Checking my half-hourly usage data afterwards, I saw that the data for the half hour immediately preceding the power cut as well as up to the moment he reconnected it were missing. I take it that the usage data for that half hour just didn’t make it to DCC, so I won’t be billed for it. But OVO are sure to be billed for it by the DNO - so do OVO just absorb the cost? Or can I expect an adjustment at some stage?    My meter is set up for E7, although currently the peak and offpeak rates are the same. I have been comparing daily meter readings with what I would expect them to be based on the half-hourly usage data, nicely recorded to the nearest whole Wh. Four weeks on, these are the r

When will Kia cars become an acceptable  vehicle brand for cheap EV charging .

I have an EV and I monitor the energy that the car uses. I created a spreadsheet with the date down the side and half hour periods across the top and colour coded the energy usage with conditional formatting to show high energy usage at red and low as blue. I then noticed that  the data for the first two half hour periods is displaced one day earlier than it should be.The two screenshots show the data as supplied and then how it should look. None of the timers on the car start or finish at 01:00. Generally the timers are set for 22:00 to 03:30 which is 5.5 hours of charging. The text messages I get from Renault do not show charging stopping or starting at 1am (02:00 CET). They show continuous charging from 23:00 (CET) to 04:30 (CET).There is also at least one example where even the displaced charging data (1 hour) is completely missing.  If the billing accurately reflects the data then I’m also not being charged for that.I didn’t set out to check the accu

I used to be able to enter new rates for my Economy 7 tariff into the Kaluza app on my Windows computer, but the app fails when I try now - I can bring up the page showing two time periods, but the app will not allow me to edit the “start time” field, neither on Chrome nor on Firefox.  The same problem on my Android phone.  However, I find that if I use my (rather old) iPad and try using the Safari browser, then a clock-shape widget pops up when I tap on the “start time” field, and it works!Is it some peculiarity of my systems, or do other people see the same problem? 

Hi there,  I have an MG ZS and I’m looking to have a home EV charger installed.  I can’t do it via OVO as the installer would have to use a ladder to access my electric board, which seems bizarre!  Anyway I’m looking to install a charger and then use OVO EV tariff.  I’m very new to this and have a few questions.  Firstly, OVO bolt on appears to be not available on the web?  Can I use any EV charger or just Indra or Ohme?   If so, does anyone have a view on which is better Indra or Ohme?  Does anyone recommend an installer for Ipswich? 

Hi allI am having a nightmare.Just had a 'smart metet' installed to make things easier topping up etc but each time I try and top up l get the full messages  Rejected Old Token Press A to continue.  Any ideas why this has happening as l then have to phone OVO and get them to add.  Due to my circumstances l can only top up small amounts and can't then spend hours on the phone trying to get through.  Really regretting this now. Would really appreciate any help or advice. Many thanks for your time. Regards 

I have had the quote through for an EV charger to be installed at my house.Struggling to find any information on payment options ( All upfront or added to bill)  or what happens once you confirm quote.Any help appreciated. 

Good evening,I just received my Sep bill and this time, being concerned about the amount I did some digging.I compared to last year bill when my metered volume was 30 and the kWh units 346This year for a 29 metered volume I have been charged 948 kWhIs this possible? My direct debit have gone up 3times since a year ago.My calculation: 29x40(CV) x 1.02264 / 3.6 = 329kWh.I have opened a query with OVO still waiting for a response.Anyone else in the same situation? ThanksAlice

I’ve just received an email with my autumn update. It says that I’m not on track to reach my target of using less than 13.5% of energy between the set hours, then tells me that I’m using 12.78%. Which in my mind is less than 13.5%. What am I not understanding?

I moved out of my house recently, I provided final meter readings on line and rang and spoke to a OVO employee to confirm that we moved out on the date of the final meter readings. Why does my final bill include several days after the date of moving?

I noticed that I was charged electricity during the 5 days outage as the smart meter sent the same data daily as the last day we had power, so I ended up paying almost £2 a day for a service I did not receive, SSE paid compensation for the inconvenience, and the girl I spoke to seemed to indicate that the compensation also included and payment we would have made for electricity not supplied  - this seems wrong and separate issues as this means folks with smart meters paid a daily rate for the electricity they did not receive and those without smart meters didn’t. seems wrong - OVO must have received tens of thousands from lots of customers for a service not provided - I want to take this up with Ofgem and it is not a fair practice 

My mother is presently in hospital and unlikely to return home. All electrics are switched off & unplugged (fridge/freezer, tv, phones etc). I take her readings but the off-peak reading is still increasing albeit minimal. Why is that?

Ive had both new smart meters fitted today (I'm on payg) the engineer said the set up will take around 30mins after a couple of hours the hand held still shows nothing at all and ive looked at the meters and theyre not showing any credit either! I dont know how much I have on either meter and I can't get the meters to show me? Do I still top up using the same  Ovo App I used before on my old meters?

Hello,I recently asked about not having all my credit reapplied after migrating from SSE to OVO.  I spoke to a gentleman called Sebu.  He said a small minority of customers didn't get all their credit reapplied because of a technical failure.  The migration team are working to get this fixed.  It seems I was one of the few  that didn't get all their credit back.  I hope it gets fixed soon and he advised me to keep Topping Up in the mean time.

I had no issues with the app and a previous EV. I have a pod point charger so use the Charge Anytime app to control when the vehicle charges. ive tried to connect my new Porsche Panamera and can find my car when logging in to my Porsche Account via the Charge Anytime app, but it fails at the final hurdle having said that connections was successful initially. Any tips?
