Say hello to the new and improved OVO Forum Rewards & Recognition feature

As of 2026 we’ve rolled out a brand new Rewards and Recognition programme for our members. We want to shout about the great work carried out by our community that makes this Forum such a helpful source of knowledge for OVO customers and beyond.

We’ve introduced new profile badges, a revamped ranking structure and even the chance for members to win some exciting prizes for their efforts.

We’ve got a dedicated Forum space that describes the new badges and how to earn them, and how to move up through the ranks. You can access the space here.

Each month we’ll update this article to display the Forum members who’ve won awards, badges, or have just been amazingly helpful. This month, we’ve chosen 2025’s Forum Member of the Year, as well as the Forum Member of the Month for December. We’ve also given some shout outs to some other members that have done a lot to help the community over 2025.

Our December spotlight winners

We’re proud to name our 2025 Forum member of the year and our December member of the month:

Forum Member of the Year (2025): @Firedog

Throughout 2025 Firedog’s worked tirelessly to answer a huge amount of questions on the Forum. As usual, his answers have been really helpful, and he’s given a number of ‘best answers’. The article below gives an example of how clear and detailed Firedog’s best answers can be. A massive thanks for being such an asset to the community and to OVO Firedog!

Here’s a perfect example of Firedog in action:

Forum Member of the Month (December 2025): @Bendog

We’re awarding Bendog member of the month for December for her amazing level of engagement since joining the community very recently. She’s provided some great information and given ‘best answers’ that are of a really high standard. We’ve included an example of one of these below, thanks Bendog!

Check out some amazing contributions by Bendog here:

Bendog and Firedog have been awarded the Member of the Year / Month badges, and have been sent some Christmassy gifts!

2025 honourable mentions

We also want to give a huge thanks to the following Forum members for their amazing work in 2025. They’ve helped the community and OVO by answering loads of questions, given best answers, written handy articles, and taken part in beta tests:

  • @Peter E
  • @Blastoise186
  • @costeek
  • @waltyboy
  • @MikeWilliams

Good to see a few members acknoledged for their work on the forum. But who chooses those that have given the best answers and written handy articles? Are forum members involved? Hopefully with the new and improved forum rewards and recognition more people who take the time to contribute will be mentioned and rewarded too.

Well done to all those who have volunteered their time to help on the forum!

A lot of work goes into understanding how things work to be able to offer help.

Also a shout out to the ovo employees who support the volunteers

I haven't been around to help unfortunately for some time.

Thanks for the feedback @DavidWSR

Best answers have always been decided by the original poster who asked a question and the OVO Forum team. We make sure that the question is answered as best as possible for the user and for the wider community.

This way, we can also make sure the correct user in any thread is getting the credit for the support they’ve given.

And a big thank you to you @Jeffus. You fixed the first issue that I had with the app and then losing my half hour readings and that was about three years ago. It was because of that help that I came on here to help other people.

January’s Community Highlights: Celebrating our top contributors

Hello everyone! As we settle into the rhythm of 2026, the community has had a wonderfully steady start to the year.

It’s been great to see the thoughtful, helpful exchanges happening across the threads. While January can often feel like a bit of a slow climb, a few of you have really stood out by showing up for others. We wanted to take a moment to shine a light on the members who have been the backbone of our discussions this month.

🌟 Member of the Month:@costeek

We’re kicking off the year by celebrating @costeek.

Costeek’s approach has been the definition of "thoughtful." Whether they were sharing personal experiences to help a member feel less stressed about debt collection letters or helping people navigate the latest OVO Beyond rewards, they’ve been a constant, calming presence.

We particularly loved how they broke down the logic behind Direct Debit changes—taking a complex topic and making it simple for everyone.

The Reward: A shiny new Member of the Month badge is now live on their profile, plus we’ll be reaching out to see if we can send a little something special their way! 🎁

The High-Voltage Runners Up

Well done to these engaged community members and for their contributions to our community - We’ll also be reaching out to see if we can send a little something their way too.

  • @Nukecad : Nukecad has been a powerhouse of information, specifically helping members bridge the gap between complex energy rules and their day-to-day accounts. From explaining the 3G sunset and smart meters to providing a "Reality Check" on Ombudsman processes, their detailed guides remain an essential resource.
  • @stevec000 : Stevec000 has been a fantastic support for members navigating EV charging. He was right in the thick of a tricky technical discussion about app conflicts between Volvo and Charge Anytime, sharing his own findings to help the group solve the puzzle together.
  • @SarahEV : SarahEV earns her spot for the dedication she showed in the EVEC charger connection thread. Over several days, she meticulously documented her steps to resolve a connection loop, providing a perfect roadmap for other members facing the same issue.
  • @HangNail999 : Hangnail999 has been instrumental in ensuring our community advice remains accurate. They were quick to flag Ohme integration updates, ensuring that new members don't get stuck with outdated setup info. Their eye for detail keeps this forum a reliable place for everyone. This also confirms why they were accurately awarded our EV Enthusiast badge.

Making your mark in the community

Our new Rewards & Recognition system is officially in full swing. If you’ve been lurking in the wings, now is a great time to get involved. Our community rewards are designed to recognise exactly this kind of helpfulness—no matter how big or small the contribution.

How to get involved:

  1. Share the knowledge: Answering a question or sharing an experience earns you points toward your next community Rank.
  2. Get recognized: As you help others, you’ll unlock Profile Badges (like the one our winner got today!) that highlight your specific expertise.
  3. Earn real prizes: Active members who positively contribute can earn something special to thank them for their valuable contributions.

It’s not about how fast you post, but how helpful you are. Whether you’re a technical whiz or just have a great energy-saving tip, we’d love to see you in the threads this February.
