I used to have a SMETS1 smart meter - it was brilliant until I switched suppliers. This was a few years ago, and the switch was to OVO from British Gas. So OVO fitted new smart meters - still SMET1 though, but back then they worked well, until I switched again.Several switches of supplier later (using meters that had become dumb, but I got used to it) I have come back to OVO. So I request more smart meter replacements and this is done very quickly and apparently efficiently by a fitter that I had great praise for at the time (well he knew more than me about smart meters, so he seemed like an expert).However, after over 6 weeks my SMETS2 meters are as dumb as any other meter that I had on my property, and in fact are worse, because not only are they NOT keeping me (and the National Grid) informed of my energy consumption, they won’t even allow me to input manual readings to my OVO account because the number is less than my previous meters number (obviously because the n

Hi, I’m relocate to the UK recently that I have never experienced on choosing an energy tariff from an energy provider here, so I have got some question regarding the energy tariff provided by OVO Energy provider. As I don’t have any billing history in the UK before, I’m not able to get a quote from the OVO official website or other platforms. In view of my current situation, I have no ideas on which tariff will be suitable to me and my partner. I have found that there is variable tariffs is offered by OVO, if possible, could you please let me know the current cost per unit of energy so that I can estimate the cost I need to pay for the energy? Ovo have stopped my switch to EDF for the second time. Have already called them once and they said they had sorted it and now it’s been blocked again. Does anyone know why they do this? 

Have a house with post code IV54*** and account number *edited by moderator* The electricity comes into the house but the wire to the house is not shielded making it impossible for work to be done on the roof. I would like this fixed please. Also we have an off peak meter which needs to be removed.

Hello, I have recently moved into a new flat and am having issues/confusion with my electric board set up. A new smart meter was installed in 2017 (outside the property) - but i still have many things which i believe are obsolete / not working. Whilst the new smart meter is outside, everything else is housed together inside. I was just wondering if anyone knew exactly what all these were, if they’re still needed and also who is able to come and remove/amend anything out of place? Hello.  I’ve heard people talk about off-peak electricity and so have been running the dishwasher and washing machine at night, but now I’m wondering if I just pay the same amount all the time.  I’m on a 2 Year Fixed Energy Plan - is that one price for electricity at any time of the day?  Is it just Economy 7 which costs less at night? Thanks.

Hi does anyone know that when you run out of emergency gas at night is it meant to stay connected until 9am? Mine has ran out and gone off 

Hi,  When a bill is paid using PayPoint, how long does it take to show against a customers account. We made the payment on 30.7.22, and were told it would take 3 working days to credit the account. The payment was made well inside the 14 days we have to make the payment, as stated on the bill. Now 5 working days later, a rep informs me, that they cannot provide a timescale for the payment being credited to the account and to ignore any letter OVO will send, chasing the payment. All I need is an answer for my pensioner dad, who is also suffering from I’ll health and all I’m getting is different answers and being told to ignore their letters?

Pardon my ignorance but is OVOs Simpler Energy (flexible, rolling contract) is this tariff under which OFGEM control the cost paid per unit etc which is called  The Default Tariff Cap?  

Back at the end of March I spotted that my smart meter swapped from the off peak cheap rate to peak rate just after 8am each morning, but did not disconnect my off-peak circuit until 30 minutes later.Every morning I have been charged the peak rate price for any power taken by my off-peak hot water storage tank to reheat after supplying hot water for my washing, showering, washing dishes, etc.Four months later, and OVO have still not sent the correct instructions to my smart meter.Am I the only person being consistently over-charged this way?

Hii have just moved into my first house and the previous occupier used OVO as their energy provider.I have tried to start as a new customer but the website says I can’t open an account and when I ring the options are for members only. what should I do? I’m just concerned of the electric and gas being cut off thanks

I am not a OVO customer.  I strongly suspect an OVO customer who is stealing electricity. This person is an electrician, and is quite capable of doing this.  I can not reveal who this person is, but he is  NOT struggling to pay his bill.  This person in my definition is quite wealthy.  Recently I saw a poor mother on TV with a disabled child, struggling to pay her energy bill, and was in tears!   Does anyone know what procedure OVO takes to make an investigation, and is the police involved. I'm trying to submit meter readings for May via the account management web app. Electric allowed me to submit as normal. However, the gas meter section suddenly thinks I have a smart meter installed, and won't let me submit readings via the browser (the iPhone app seems to let me submit, but then is overwriting any manual readings with fake smart meter readings). The previous manual meter reading history for gas has disappeared. I don't have a smart meter installed for either gas or electricity. An engineer did attend back in November, but had to abort the install on the day due to connectivity issues with the gas meter part. He reverted both gas and electric meters to the previous dumb units, and I've continued to take manual readings…. which has been working just fine up till now. Is there perhaps a general fault with the meter reading submission web service, currently…

why is it there isn't any where on the website to cancel  a switch to a 2 year rate by accident ? . i wanted to look at the tariff as i was on a variable rate and by accident i pressed the switch my tariff button . i have 14 days to cool off but the website doesn't facilitate that , why not ? A cynic would say that you do this on purpose .
