Could anyone advise who or which department I need to e-mail at OVO to ask about a one-off discount.I should explain that about this time of year I do the laundry for the local “coats for kids” program, which is where old children's coats that they have outgrown get recycled to children that don't have or can't afford them.  I fund this out of my own pocket because I went to school in Sheffield in the mid 1980s  (All Saint’s, Granville Road) that had a pretty mixed demographic including some of the poorest areas and quite honestly watching your friends freeze in winter in the north of England isn't pleasant and if It's something you remember vividly 35+ years back it was pretty bad.  Past few years it's been around a 100 laundry loads, but with the cost of living crisis I suspect it's going to be more this year.I hate asking, but between the hikes in the cost of living (Brexit the gift that keeps on giving) and the tripling of my electricity costs it's something I don'

Anyone know why my account is substantially in credit. It’s far too much to be anything but an error! anyone else had the same? 

I'd like to view my usage in £ not kWh that doesn't help me see what I'm spending 

I keep a careful eye on my energy usage every month and calculate what my charges should be for the forthcoming year by factoring in price increases. This has worked well for the past couple of years and I finished last year £19 in credit. When we started this current year OVO calculated no increase needed, but my calculations for the coming year indicated that I should increase my payments by £10-£11 per month, but now OVO will not allow me to increase by less than £21 per month. This figure has increased since last month and is probably due to a heavier than expected gas (heating) usage during May/June. OVO have applied this increase to estimate for June/July and the coming year. It has been 33C this afternoon and the heating is off so I don't expect such an increase in heating for the coming month. OK, we can't predict the weather, but since my year runs from May -> April, we are in credit for almost all of the year. If necessary, I would prefer a further increase later in

Hold on. So if Ovo provide “100% renewable electricity as standard for everyone”……then why has it suddenly gotten so expensive?🤷‍♂️

We renewed our OVO energy contract just 2 months ago to the 2 yr fixed price plan. Having been customers of OVO for several years they had lots of info on our energy consumption. The offer of a two year fix at £118 per month seemed too good to be true since we had been paying £140 per month. I queried the amount several times when we signed up but was assured that £118 would cover our costs. Today, just two months into our contract we have been advised to increase our monthly payment to £128. Whilst we have probably used more gas in the last 2 months than last year due to the cold winter, it seems incredibly quick to make us start to pay more. A good summer could soon reduce our gas bills! I fear it's as we thought - a low offer to tempt us to renew our contract and then bump up our monthly payment. Has this happened to anyone else? And how did you deal with it? Sit it out hoping your consumption would even out over the year, or increase your payments?

I’ve been charged £30 exit fee after accidentally picking a new plan while checking my bill /usage.  Called OVO straight away but closed.  Emailed 15 mins later to advise it was an error then called the next day.   I was told I wouldn’t be charged for anything ie exit fee and electric would be charged at my normal rate.  Just logged into my account and I’ve been charged the £30 exit fee and electric at the new plan rate.  Why is this when they clearly said there would be no charges.  Anybody else had the same thing happen? 

I was moved from OVO to Boost, and a prepayment meter, years ago. How do I now switch back to OVO ?

My usage graph on the web site is showing electricity usage of between 0.7 and 0.11 kwh per half hour overnight between 10.30 pm and 6.30 am.  During the day, my usage is as expected, but there are lots of 30 minute times when my usage is zero, so the overnight cannot be appliances that are continually turned on?I then looked at a time when I was on holiday, and virtually everything in the house was turned off - this was in the summer, so no heating, immersion heater, all pcs and tvs turned off.  In this case, I had between 0.5 and 0.7 kwh between 9pm and 5.30 am, and virtually zero during the day?What could I have that uses electricity overnight but not during the day, or is this not a true reading?

My Aclara Smart Meter SGM1411-B is displaying the “Reverse Run” Symbol. Is this OK? We have some solar panels.  

At the end of November last year OVO Energy's metering equipment in my home failed and had to be replaced. In April this year OVO Energy performed a Direct Debit check-in of my account following the renewal of my contract in March. This produced an estimate of my annual consumption which was 48% greater than for the same period last year! OVO Energy then demanded that I increase my Direct Debit accordingly.Within three days I messaged OVO Energy Customer Services pointing out the error. This was ignored, with the result that a further seven days later OVO Energy sent a message advising that they would be compulsorily increasing my Direct Debit, despite me having earlier obtained an verbal assurance that they would not. As a result of my persistence the threat was eventually lifted. Despite this, as late as mid-May, OVO Energy were trying to show that the original estimate was correct.It seems that the reason for OVO Energy's

Our fixed rate ends on 21st October and we’re being moved onto OVO’s variable ‘Simpler’ tariff. Seems we have no choice about this - they’re not offering any fixed rates.  We have c. £350 credit on our account. Does anyone know if this will automatically be used towards (lol, “towards”…) our first bill after we move to the variable tariff? Or do we have to contact and instruct them specifically to put it towards the bill?

HiI'm just recovering from the shock of my new renewal quote and feel it has greatly improved the economics of solar cells.  My main house roof is east/west but i have a well  placed flat garage roof. Has anyone  experience of installing pannels on a garage roof? What sort of area do I need for a typical three bed bungalow with retired occupants? Thanks

my smart meter is very simple it is made by secure the display is very simple and so is the menu there are no buttons or arrows the display is monochrome  andthe information is very limited can I upgrade it 

HiMy latest bill has the wrong opening reading for my gas as the reading does not correspond to the closing reading shown on my last bill. How is this possible and what do I do about this as it means I will be paying for some of my gas twice?Thanks

We have tried to have a smart meter installed (by Bulb, our current supplier) but the installation failed because the mobile signal on EE where we live is too weak. We do have reasonable signal on other networks (Vodafone, O2). My first question is, do all companies use the EE network for installation?  Assuming we are stuck with the EE network, would a signal booster help to make the installation viable? I am not exactly sure what needs to be boosted - is it 2G, 3G or 4G? We live in Bedfordshire, in a village. So we are not isolated and otherwise have reasonable connectivity!

Why is OVO saying my plan ends on October 1st when it doesn't need renewing till the 10th? Is it advisable to submit meter readings on September 30th for everyone, though and what will this do? Thanks!

Hi all I will be getting an EV in a couple of weeks.I do not have a charge point for it, because it can run off standard mains sockets (trickle charge, and I can fast charge at work or round the corner at a dealership for free)Question:Do OVO have a tariff that doesnt require a compatible charging point?If they do, do you know what the tariff standing charges/price per kWh and the overnight prices/hours for it are please? I tried calling, but as you can imagine today, there are many people in the queue!Thank you in advance for an information you can send :)

Hello,I have a smart meter and a IHD but my on-line account whilst showing the KW/H for both gas and electric shows no values (unavailable) for all subsequent months since April 2020 - only March 2021 has any £ values  - why is this?thanks

We have just had an air source heat pump installed. I am concerned about the insulation and found your forum very helpful. 10m of pipe work from ASHP to house. 13mm insulation. See photos. Would be interested in your opinion. Thank you 

I don't know what to do for the best - we've always used fixed rate deals but they are coming in very high..Which of these offers the best deal? Both are over £100 more than the variable we will drop onto in mid-Sept but is a variable a really bad idea at the minute?

I recently got a new card  gas meter installed but how long does it take to get it registered so I can get my card to put money in , it has been in a week now but OVO does not have any info on it even though it was them that ordered sign to install it 

Will a ovo engineer come out to check if there is a fault with economy 7 working the electric hot water heater as it keeps tripping the thermostat so we have to reset it.Plumber as checked it & says it could be electrical fault  

I am currently dog sitting for my son at the moment, up until i went to his house my daily usage was generally abour £1.60 a day. Since arriving at my sons house on the 6th of Augast my daily rate has increased to £2.60 a day, this when no one is in my flat. Any one shed any ligh6on this please. Thanks.
