Have been on Smart Gas and Electric meters for some time now but in the last month the Gas meter has failed to send any readings to OVO so at the weekend I did a manual read by pressing '9' on the Gas meter and sent these in. Anyone have any ideas why this would suddenly stop working? is there some magic sequence of buttons to press to get this working again? The smart display shows figures for Electric but nothing at all for Gas. 

I appreciate that the rate had reduced from 10p per kWh to 7p per kwh back in Nov 2023, but given further reductions in wholesale elec prices since then as reflected in the lower price cap on 1st April, with another reduction forecast for 1st July will we see a corresponding decrease to the ovo charge anytime rate??

Hello everyone, please I need clarification on my Landis gyr E470 Electricity meter and Landis gyr G370 Gas meter. I was sent a health check questions for the meters (Electricity and Gas) with questions that requires me to press 0,9 or 6 for feedback but I can't identify any numbers buttons/keyboard on them. What can I do in this situation?Thank you all in anticipation of your responses. 

Currently with British Gas.Had solar panels installed on 19th Jan 2023.Immediately after that date the meter readings INCREASED by approx 50%Br Gas *Edited by Mod* helpdesks were adamant that the meter readings were correct.Now having a conversation via email with a Br Gas agent in the UK who takes the same stance.Subsequent to my complaints the meter readings appeared to correct themselves on 19th February.I am still having difficulty getting Br Gas to accept they overcharged me for the intervening period.In my letter to them I asked for my Smet1 meter to be replaced with a Smet2 - they tell me that I have a Smet2 meter (picture attached)*Edited by Mod* - when checking - it states it’s a Smet1. How can I tell if it has been upgraded remotely and if so when ?Any help would be appreciated.ThanksLes Booth

I recently depleted the large credit balance on my account following the end of the Interest Reward scheme. Since the start of April 2024, there has been a warning on my Home page like this:    Now, I’m well aware that I can’t go on paying only £5 a month for long, but the current balance is high enough to keep me in credit into the summer. I plan to increase the monthly payment to a realistic sum before the account goes into debt.Can anyone with experience of warnings like this and what they lead to explain ‘what happens next’? Hello,I want to switch my electricity & gas supplier to ovo.Currently with E & on credit but after an emergency smart meter installation,  my current company are refusing to put me back on payg unless I have the gas turned to a smart meter. Which I do not want. I'm disabled & non verbal. Every time I talk to live chat, they tell me to phone.Facebook messenger, they refer me to live chat. I want to join as a payg customer. Relay UK doesn't work either. I don't know what to do.I have no way to phone. Any tips? Advice please?

Hi i have had my case at the ops dept since February  i had a new smart meter installed january as the readings didnt match the ones ovo had despite numerous photos been sent and the engineer confirming the readings didnt match im still showing a huge bill on my account im constantly in touch getting holds put on my account so they dont change my direct debit to unaffordable amounts its increasingly stressful i just cannot understand why it isnt sorted i feel as im not being believed despite the evidence to support me has anyone else had a similair experience or know how much longer it will take to resolve sorry for the big rant  

Back when SSE were the supplier before OVO took over from them,i agreed to changed my gas from fixed rate to pay as you go and pay of the remaining debt ,i have confirmation letters saying welcome to pay as you go but since summer 2018 no one has came out to change my gas over, same thing november 2018 sent out letters after i agreed again on phone to change it to pay as you go its now febuary 2024 and still no one has came out to change the gas over to pay as you go and now im in quite abit of debt close to 3k now im being passed over to debt collection agency's this whole process has been a nightmare , personely i think they should clear the debt as i agreed to pay as you go and they are the ones at fauly for agreeing to switch me over but not actually doing anything. 

In 2014 SSE converted our 3 single phase meters to one 3-phase meter. This meant that of the original 3 MPANS, two should be deleted. However SSE did not delete the redundant MPANs. This only became apparent when SSE sold its retail business to OVO. At this point OVO created new accounts for the two redundant MPANS and Ovo have been pestering us for payment for the bills generated for the two accounts.The DNO (SSE) can see that the two redundant supplies do not exist but say that it is OVO's responsibility to get the redundant MPANS removed. I have sent several emails to hello@ovoenergy.com but have had no response.What should I do next?

How can I measure home efficiency ?. ( I know I have, and can get another, EPC rating, but I’ve not got much trust in them. )However, I have got thermometer gadgets around the house. These record every 5 minutes to a database somewhere. I can then view graphs going back upto a year.Using these I can see how, say, the livingroom temperature drops when the CH turns off, or rises as the sun shines in. I am sure that the rate of change could be useful, somehow.I’m sure I’ve got enough data to actually calculate something useful, but I haven’t got a clue how to do it.Probably it needs room volumes, wall and windows areas, etc., as well as the records of temperatures.Does anyone know of a website or app that can take all this info and generate something useful ?Or, failing that, point me to the required calculations so I can program an Excel thingy myself ?Cheers,Buzby

I asked the electrician if I double the battery, and he's saying the battery may charge itself with the grid, so it's best to monitor the usage.We use the dryer and washing machine a lot in the house, and we have just installed underfloor electric heating. We also have a big server drawing a lot of power, which we had to power down for a year due to electricity costs.As the battery is modular, we are thinking of doubling up, but it does not make sense to charge the battery from the grid.Any tips and opinions would be much appreciated.

For the last  nearly 3 years I have been unable to access my account in line. My account is being migrated from SSE to Ovo. Every month I’m told they are working on it and every successive month ,still an issue. My contract ends soon and there is no way I’m staying with this company.

I’ve got an ongoing battle happening with OVO and to cap it all now my thread complaining about these issues has been deleted !!! I’ve also just spent another hour and a half on the phone to OVO being passed around and getting nowhere Still I have raised another two complaints for what they are worth ….. Good luck to anybody trying to do business with these people 

New charges 3 tariff Superdeal. The charges issued for January 2024 are most unfair as all the increase is put onto the night storage which increases bills unfairly. Am not pleased.

I have a Center room thermostat control which is not working so my boiler keeps turning on and off

I knew standing charges were raising  ridiculously  but I thought KW prices were dropping?I am paying the same KW for both gas and electric which will mean even though I use very little energy my bills will raise

It may just be that I’ve never noticed before, but on my OVO Account Home Page in the box where it confirms that my smart meter is sending readings automatically, I’ve now noticed that it shows the last reading date.   Your smart meter is sending them to us automatically. Nice one!Last reading: 01 Apr 2024You don't need to do anything. This is such a welcome and useful bit of information (as a visible pointer to estimated readings, for example) that I’m sure I should have noticed it previously? Hello.  I want to install a 5KW battery and have contracted with supplier. Iam now tokld ther is an up to 3 month delay in the approval of G99  applications even for fast track and approved systems.comments please!

I’ve recently started using Home Assistant to monitor my home. I’ve got 5 Aqara temperature and humidity sensors feeding in data via a ConBee II usb device, I’ve got a Hive integration, and I’ve got an Ovo integration. But I don’t understand what the Ovo integration is showing me. The documentation saysSensorsThis integration provides a few sensors for OVO Energy:Last Electricity Reading - Last meter reading consumption in kWh. Last Gas Reading - Last meter reading consumption in kWh. Last Electricity Cost - Last meter reading electricity cost. Last Gas Cost - Last meter reading gas cost.But it doesn’t explain whether these are half hourly readings, or daily or something else. I’m also very suspicious of an electricity reading that’s decreased over the last 48 hours.Has anyone on here used this Home Assistant integration, and if so what do they make of it?     

HelloTrying to find a way I can download all my past usage to a spreadsheet but I cannot find any way to do this.  I know I can copy/paste into Excel but it would be better if I could download a year at a time. Even better would be API access.  I see in the chat this was discussed about 5 years ago, did it take off? Thanks in advance.  

Updated on 08/10/24 by Shads_OVOI’ve had solar panels for some time and added batteries more recently - which I’ve now added extra capacity to also.  Over the last few weeks, I noticed a few changes to my inverter control options, the latest of which offered a ‘Battery Conditioning’ set up. Not knowing what this did exactly, I asked my installer but they were non the wiser, so I contacted the inverter manufacturer and got a mini manual update with a suggestion that this could help to extend battery life. Now having used it successfully, I thought it might be useful to pass on the information. There are different battery chemistries so you need to check your own set up but mine (and many others
