Say hello to the new and improved OVO Forum Rewards & Recognition feature

As of 2026 we’ve rolled out a brand new Rewards and Recognition programme for our members. We want to shout about the great work carried out by our community that makes this Forum such a helpful source of knowledge for OVO customers and beyond.

We’ve introduced new profile badges, a revamped ranking structure and even the chance for members to win some exciting prizes for their efforts.

We’ve got a dedicated Forum space that describes the new badges and how to earn them, and how to move up through the ranks. You can access the space here.

Each month we’ll update this article to display the Forum members who’ve won awards, badges, or have just been amazingly helpful. This month, we’ve chosen 2025’s Forum Member of the Year, as well as the Forum Member of the Month for December. We’ve also given some shout outs to some other members that have done a lot to help the community over 2025.

Our December spotlight winners

We’re proud to name our 2025 Forum member of the year and our December member of the month:

Forum Member of the Year (2025): @Firedog

Throughout 2025 Firedog’s worked tirelessly to answer a huge amount of questions on the Forum. As usual, his answers have been really helpful, and he’s given a number of ‘best answers’. The article below gives an example of how clear and detailed Firedog’s best answers can be. A massive thanks for being such an asset to the community and to OVO Firedog!

Here’s a perfect example of Firedog in action:

Forum Member of the Month (December 2025): @Bendog

We’re awarding Bendog member of the month for December for her amazing level of engagement since joining the community very recently. She’s provided some great information and given ‘best answers’ that are of a really high standard. We’ve included an example of one of these below, thanks Bendog!

Check out some amazing contributions by Bendog here:

Bendog and Firedog have been awarded the Member of the Year / Month badges, and have been sent some Christmassy gifts!

2025 honourable mentions

We also want to give a huge thanks to the following Forum members for their amazing work in 2025. They’ve helped the community and OVO by answering loads of questions, given best answers, written handy articles, and taken part in beta tests:

Looks like that might have been a different Sparky! :)

Hey @Sparky64 , looks like you got rewarded! Come and stop by to say hi! :D

Thank you very much for the recognition this month. It's really appreciated. As I've said before it not so much about the points or the rewards, although Jenny says it's the only reason she puts up with me, it's the satisfaction of solving issues by managing to hit the nail on the head instead of my thumb which I can also do.

Reducing my yearly fossil fuel usage with an EV (-900 litres petrol), A2AHP (-8,700 kWh gas) and Timed Immersion heater (-1,500 kWh gas)

Thanks guys. My wife and I have made it down to the South of Spain with our EV. We'll be back in the second half of June, and will report on the whole experience, especially the public charging.

Can’t wait to hear (and possibly see) all about it @HangNail999

Think it would be a really valuable personal user experience for all of us to hear about 😎

June’s Community Highlights: Celebrating our top contributors

It’s that time again - we’re celebrating our favourite contributions to the OVO Forum this month. We’ve been running this new Rewards and Recognition since January 2026 now and, as we head into the second half of the year, it’s been great to look back on all the Members of the Month, and badge / award winners in such a short period of time! Great stuff 😁.

This month’s been a really good one in terms of new and useful content being added, and great engagement across threads and topics. @Abby_OVO, @Bradley_OVO, @Chris_OVO and myself have genuinely struggled to decide who to give awards to this time around, which just goes to show how important a community we have here 😍.

And without further ado….

🌟 Member of the Month: @HangNail999

We’ve shouted out @HangNail999 in our monthly recognitions before, but this time Member of the Month was the obvious choice. We’ve seen some fantastic EV experience blogs being posted, and @HangNail999’s two part Our EV adventure in Spain was incredibly well received by our team, and our EV teams too.

I’ve included the links to @HangNail999’s blog posts below, and we’d highly recommend them to anyone, whether they own an EV or not - they’re a cracking read. There’s some incredibly helpful info there for anyone thinking about a European road trip in their EV, and there’s also some great content that might help assuage any worries people might have about buying their first EV.

Thanks again @HangNail999 for your efforts. I’ve added the Forum Member of the Month badge to your profile, and also the ‘Scholar’ badge as well. @Bradley_OVO will be in touch to discuss your prize 😎.

🥈 The runner up: @ConfusedJim

This month we’re really happy to put the spotlight on @ConfusedJim, and award them the ‘Helpful Hero badge’ for the time and effort they’ve put into their first ever topic, not to mention the level of patience they’ve displayed whilst waiting for a complex metering issue to be ironed out.

The topic in question was actually started by @ConfusedJim when they reached out to the community for advice on an RTS-related issue affecting their Economy 7 supply. The level of engagement on the thread has been fantastic, and a special mention should be given to @Firedog for being so handy with this one, and earning the ‘Helpful hero’ badge himself.

@ConfusedJim kept their topic going, and always came back with new info and photos when required, and the topic is now an invaluable source of information for anyone going through the same issue. Thanks @ConfusedJim - @Bradley_OVO will be in touch to discuss your prize - well deserved 🤝.

You can have a read of the thread here:

💬 Honourable mentions

This month we’d also like to recognise @juliamc, who we’ve awarded the ‘Eco Innovator’ badge for her invaluable help with all things Air Source Heat Pump, like in this topic:

We’re also shouting out @Nealeb for this great topic covering the ways in which excess Solar energy can be used when charging your EV:

🎮 How did they do it? (And how can you?)

Our Rewards & Recognition system is designed to celebrate everyone who makes this forum a better place. You don’t need to be a technical genius to climb the leaderboard; you just need to be helpful!

Earn points by:

  • Providing the "Best Answer": When your reply solves a problem, your points skyrocket.
  • Receiving "Likes": High-quality, empathetic advice earns you reputation from your peers.
