Say hello to the new and improved OVO Forum Rewards & Recognition feature

As of 2026 we’ve rolled out a brand new Rewards and Recognition programme for our members. We want to shout about the great work carried out by our community that makes this Forum such a helpful source of knowledge for OVO customers and beyond.

We’ve introduced new profile badges, a revamped ranking structure and even the chance for members to win some exciting prizes for their efforts.

We’ve got a dedicated Forum space that describes the new badges and how to earn them, and how to move up through the ranks. You can access the space here.

Each month we’ll update this article to display the Forum members who’ve won awards, badges, or have just been amazingly helpful. This month, we’ve chosen 2025’s Forum Member of the Year, as well as the Forum Member of the Month for December. We’ve also given some shout outs to some other members that have done a lot to help the community over 2025.

Our December spotlight winners

We’re proud to name our 2025 Forum member of the year and our December member of the month:

Due recognition for showing how these things work in a practical sense. Well done for the effort you put in.

If you’re off supply heading into this planned maintenance period, and you need to top up to get back on supply while it's taking place, you’ll be able to add credit to your meters via a Payzone or Paypoint or post office

It's really useful to have these alternative top-up options confirmed for the maintenance windows. Knowing that Payzone and the Post Office remain available helps ensure no one is left stuck if they miss the window to top up beforehand.

April’s Community Highlights: Celebrating our top contributors

Hey everyone! I hope you all had an amazing bank holiday weekend. I just got back from a fantastic camping trip at the foot of Ben Nevis, and I'm really looking forward to celebrating our wonderful community together.

We’re so lucky to have such a vibrant and active community. As your community managers, we're excited to acknowledge the incredible support you give to our members every month. It truly means a lot, and we want you to know that it doesn't go unnoticed.

🌟 Member of the Month: @juliamc

Julia has been a fantastic member of the OVO Forum, and many of us have come to know her well since I joined! She recently celebrated her five-year anniversary with us, which is an amazing milestone. You can find some of her helpful responses in our discussions about solar energy, Charge Anytime, and various tariff and billing topics.

This April, we’ve seen Julia really shine as she’s been active across so many conversations. One particular response truly highlights why we want to recognise her contributions. She provided clear, friendly advice along with helpful visuals that made understanding this complex industry so much easier for everyone. Thanks, Julia, for all you do!

We're excited to celebrate Julia as our Member of the Month, she truly deserves this recognition. We'll be reaching out to arrange a special thank you prize from all of us here on the Forum and a new badge for your profile. Congratulations, Julia! 🎉

🥈 The Runners Up: @HangNail999 & @janie

  • @HangNail999 has been such a fantastic contributor in our EV discussions lately. Their thoughtful responses have made a big difference. A great example is when they received a "Best Answer" award for sharing their personal experience as an EV owner. They helped another user who was having trouble with their charger and compatibility with Charge Anytime. Thanks to their advice, that user might be able to install a new charger without paying the full installation cost, which is a wonderful way to save money both now and down the road. Check out the full thread below to see all the helpful details.

We’re excited to announce that Hangnail has been recognised as a 'helpful hero' in our community! As a thank you for all their wonderful efforts, we're thrilled to present them with this badge. Keep up the great work.

  • @janie We're excited to share that Janie has been recognised as a runner-up by our community managers. She faced quite a few challenges with her complicated RTS (radio teleswitch service) meter installation. Over the last year, Janie has been an active member of our Forum, sharing her journey and keeping us updated along the way.

Even when things got tough, Janie's patience and willingness to work with us as a community really stood out. We're thrilled to say that we recently made a breakthrough and finally got a new meter installed on Janie’s wall. It was such a joy to celebrate this milestone together after all the ups and downs. Janie's story is a shining example of how, by working together, we can overcome challenges as a community.

How nice from @Chris_OVO , I think you and the entire team are the ones who deserve an award 👏 am sure a lot of people take the forum for granted without realising the amount of work behind it, 😀

Ooh, thank you for that !! That’s very kind of you.

Five years… I came here to share my experience and get help with the air source heat pump which was installed five years ago as part of the government trial (administered by OVO) to gain data about this ‘new’ type of heating. It was new to me and a bit of a gamble as the trial participants had to have their existing heating replaced by this new-fangled electric unknown system. As it turned out heat pumps weren’t a new thing at all and with a lot of advice from other trial participants I got mine working very well.
Five years ago it was Kwasi Kwateng and BEIS we had to thank for the trial, long before his short lived time of being chancellor. A lot’s happened since then !!

May’s Community Highlights: Celebrating our top contributors

Hi again everyone 👋.

It’s that time again - we’ve chosen our monthly award winners, and there’s been some really great content to shout about in May 😍.

Last month also marked my 9th year working for OVO, which has made me reflect on some great interactions with customers over the years that have been so helpful to us as a business. Your contributions on the Forum are valued not just by our team, but by the wider company as a whole, not to mention by the thousands of people who visit the Forum each week to have their questions answered.

Without further ado, here are our prize winners for May:

🌟 Member of the Month: @Peter E

We’re awarding @Peter E Forum Member of the Month for May, and the Member of the Month profile badge has been added to his already-huge collection of badges.

We’ve chosen Peter because, over the last month, he’s engaged on numerous threads to help others. He’s given some invaluable information, like on this EV-related thread, as well as providing ‘best answers’, like on this thread about GivEnergy entering administration.

A massive thanks once again @Peter E for your help, and for always being so patient and approachable in the community 🤝.

🥈 The Runner Up: @Sparky64

We’re really happy to be shouting out @Sparky64  for their amazing contributions to the community in May. We’re highlighting two great threads @Sparky64  posted in our EV section:

The first post gives some great, positive feedback about the Charge Anytime package as a whole, and contains some really handy info for any EV owners who might be toying with the idea of signing up to OVO and Charge Anytime.

The second post is a fantastic account of @Sparky64’s recent road trip in France in an EV. We love to see this sort of post, as it really embodies what this Forum is all about. We’d recommend giving the thread a read - it’s really interesting even if you don’t have an EV, and it’s generated some very good discussion. For any EV owners who are planning a trip into Europe, there’s some really invaluable info to be read.

A massive thanks for taking the time to provide this great insight @Sparky64  - we really do appreciate it. As usual, we’ll be sending out a prize to you and to @Peter E - keep your eyes open for a private message from me 😎.
