We've just moved in to a house you supply, how do I change the name on the OVO Energy account?

Hi,

We just moved into a property in Wembley and the last tenants had OVO Energy as the supplier. Now we have to change the names. What we should do?

Welcome to your new home and to OVO!


Once you’ve got the keys to the new property you’ll need to let us know you’ve moved in and set up an account with us here. You can also find a guide for this process on our website here.

 

Once you’ve put in your new address details the website will recognise we already supply your new home and give you a quote based on the usage figures we have for the property. If you’d prefer, you can also contact our Support Team who can do this process for you.

 

 

Even if you’re planning on switching suppliers - we’ll need a temporary account created in order to cover the period before your switch. When we create your account we’ll check the date you moved in and the meter readings on this date (unless you’ve got a Smart meter!) and create you an account starting from this point. There’s a full run-down of this process on the great guide below.

 

 

Once you’re all set-up, the easiest way to keep an eye on your new account is by logging in to your online account or downloading our app (available for iOS and Android)

You need to set up an account urgently, before it goes into debt collection. Please do so via https://switch.ovoenergy.com preferably immediately and use DD just to get things going. You can always change your mind later and switch to paying on-demand once you’ve cleared the arrears.

Recently I moved to a new house which is supplied by ovo energy. I tried calling to get the account number.

Hiya!

Please use https://switch.ovoenergy.com for this. You don’t need the existing account number. You’ll get a new one via that tool instead.

Can I get monthly payment option other than direct debit

You have to phone up for that and set up the account over the phone. It’s much faster to just go Direct Debit and is around £200 a year cheaper on average.

I tried calling since 2 week's nobody responded. Kindly do the needful to get account number.
