I recently switched from Eon to Ovo. According to Ovo, they started supplying my gas and electricity on 27th March. However, Eon claim they are still supplying my gas and have told me that I need to contact you. Please can Ovo and Eon sort this out. I am currently being charged for gas by 2 suppliers. Let me know what further details you require from me. Thanks
Updated on 11/04/22 by Jess_OVO Switching suppliers can seem complicated so we’ve explained the full switching process on this great guide. Once you’ve made the decision to switch, the next important thing to remember is to submit some opening meter readings when your new supplier asks. If that new supplier is OVO you can submit these on your online account or OVO app (download for Android or iOS). You may be wondering, what happens if you forget to submit the meter readings in time? As with your monthly summary, if we haven’t received an opening meter reading (either submitted manually or sent automatically by your smart meter) we’ll use an estimated reading. This estimated reading will be based on the history of your meter readings held by the energy industry and will be agreed with your previous supplier to use on your final statement with them.If it’s been a while since you’ve submitted readings to a previous supplier, you might notice that the opening reading doesn’t line up to

Hello all, I signed up in April for a two-year duel fuel fixed plan, all good so far. We now unexpectedly find ourselves planning on moving house. Not usually a problem as I understand it’s easy to take OVO with me, but! The village we are hoping to move to doesn’t have gas, it is all oil-fired. Does anyone know if I will have to pay any penalties for ending my gas contract but continuing with the electricity? Thank you.
After endless problems with Scottish Power I'm looking to switch and am really interested in OVO (I've been a previous customer and should never have left!). However I currently have a twin rate meter (Economy 7) and would like to move to a single rate. My current meter shows the single rate as well as the two E7 rates. Am I able to join OVO and use the single rate reading or submit the two rates? And if not I understand I would need a meter change. Do OVO charge for this and if so how much? Thank you for your help.
Hello , I have just moved into a property supplied by OVO with a smart meter installed.I have registered online with the moving home option and selected Simpler energy monthly tarrif.I have registered my details online however it doesn't show me any option to view my smart meter online. I would like to find out details of my smart meter usages online to see what we are spending and if its correct. Also, if we spend less on the smart meter, will this be deducted by the monthly tarrif, or will it show as credit? Thanks .
Hi, I've moved out of a rented house and forgot to read the meters :( I'm now living away from the property and it's been more or less unoccupied for the most part for the last couple of months so I've got a feeling any estimated readings are going to be way too high. If the estimates are too high (ie higher than the next readings taken when landlord gets property back) how will I get the difference back?? Thanks!!
I haven't been with ovo since late march early April and my credit is still not been refunded and I'm already a customer to a different supplier and have been for a whole month now. How much longer must I wait for my money to be given back to me
Why has the existing energy supplier of my new house objected to switching me OVO? - I don't have a contract with them!
Hello there, I've just purchased a new house and I'm trying to join OVO. I keep getting emails from OVO about a objection. This is from the existing energy provider which I do not have a contact with nore do I even know which company it is. Can someone from OVO give me a call and confirm the existing energy provider + contact details? Thanks, Jack
Updated on 11/04/22 by Jess_OVO Hey Landlords Got a property that’s being supplied by OVO? Here’s everything you need to know for when tenants change or your property’s empty. I’ve got new tenants moving in soon - How can I help them set-up an account? Great to hear there’s someone new moving into your rented property. As your new tenants will be responsible for covering the energy bills from the date their tenancy agreement starts, they’ll need to get in touch with us directly at this point. We can let them know what plans are available and get things up and running. Whilst we can’t setup an account on their behalf, it’s always worth letting them know that we’re the supplier so they can get things set-up as soon as they move in. They can even do this online here (if you wanted to pass this link on to them!) My tenants have moved out - Do I need to let you know? As your previous tenants will need to let us know they’re moving out in order for us to close their account, you won’t need
Swithed to OVO as Landlord, I told them at switching that I am renervating and would have new tenents soon)I was put on a 2 fixed tarif but what happens when new tennants move in. If they stay with OVO will I be charged £30. What if they wish to go elswhere say Bulb?I could ask them to stay with OVO in my name or should I change to a new supplier who pays my exit fee and then leave for them to go wherever? All in OVO does not appear landlord friendly in these situations.
Switched away with a Smart Meter on Economy 7 and are now having issues with our meter. How can this be resolved?
Hi, we have an issue that hopefully someone can advise on. We are (or should be) on an E7 tariff, and got an OVO smart meter installed towards the end of last year. Last month we actually switched to Bulb, and since the switch we have been cut off from our off-peak supply in spite of the fact that we are still in theory on an E7 tariff with Bulb. This is causing some real issues as we're in a new flat with a separate off-peak circuit for hot water and storage heaters. It's also apparent now that our new meter is only showing a single rate as opposed to the usual 2 on- and off-peak rates we'd get with an E7 tariff. Having raised this with them, Bulb insist that it will have been an installation error (possibly a single rate smart meter was installed by OVO instead of an E7?), and that they aren't in a position to do anything about it. Bulb say we have to switch back to OVO for it to be rectified. I've also spoken to an adviser at OVO on the phone, who said that Bulb should
Unable to switch because my electricity meter has been registered on the national data base as an industrial meter?
I've manged to find a more competitive rate and daily charge so applied to change supplier, unfortunately my electricity meter has been registered on the national data base as an industrial meter rather than a house hold domestic meter, which means I can't transfer. I've sent a mail to OVO tonight to request that they update the national data base with immediate effect, let's see how long it takes them shall we. I work in the energy industry so know how long it should take, unfortunately I can't resolve it myself, I'm in the hands of OVO. Will keep this thread updated with progress on a daily basis.
Hello We have just moved house and took the opportunity to change to OVO (we were with EDF but the new home was with EON) We have now discovered we have two meters with different usage from the final EoN bill, although from what I can see only one MPAN. Can ovo pick this up as is - is this a different requirement to the one we have signed up for? thanks
I have moved house and Ovo have received details and my account is showing that the final reading has been taken. It looks like I am in debit, and so owe Ovo money. Will this be taken as a final direct debit, or will I get another correspondence asking for money? I'm not disputing the money owed, I just want to understand how it will be taken. I am in temporary accommodation so haven't been able to take Ovo with me as a supplier ie the money does need to be paid.
Hi everyone, hope you're all doing well! I'm looking to move, and most of the houses in the area I'm looking to move to have solar panels preinstalled. Do I need to know about anything before I move into one? Another quick question that has always intrigued me - if you profit from solar panels by feeding back into the grid, will that count as income the same as a job, or will it just reduce energy bills and that's all. I've looked at sites like this tax calculator but really can't find much about it. It's not a hugely important question, just me being curious :8 Thanks in advance to any replies :)
Why have I been sent an estimated final bill from my old supplier when I was assured OVO would take care of the switch?
I switched to OVO in late Feb and submitted meter readings as requested. It was my understanding that OVO would close everything with my old supplier, Southern Electric, but we have received a final bill from SE this week (an estimate) for £100 for electricity (last bill was only a month ago so this seems crazy!). What should my next step be?
Switching to OVO but can't take my opening meter readings as the screen's blank on Ampy 5235A Single phase watt hour meter - Help!
Just had the go ahead for the switch from Co-Op to OVO . Went to record readings from the above electric meter and the screen is blank . I have phoned around supply companies without success to resolve problem . At this point I can't give final reading to Co-Op or first reading to OVO . Has anybody got advice please .
I switched supplier and now my smart meter readings are much higher - have I read it wrong previously?
I left OVO at the end of February, my closing smart meter reading was 0000230.0kwh. That was the total used from June 2nd 2016 to February 28th 2017. just shy of 9 months. I switched to Scottish power, and gave them my first manual reading on May the 2nd. This reading from the smart meter was 0002182.0. So in 2 months with SP, I had used around 9x as much as I did in 9 months with OVO. Clearly incorrect, as I am not aware of supplying the Blackpool Illuminations with power... Now, I contacted Scottish Power, who have basically said either the closing reading from OVO was wrong (although it is consistent with each Smart reading throughout the 9 months) or I am reading my meter wrong. I just want to clarify the correct way in which to read an OVO smart meter manually? I press 9, the imp kwh shows up, and the number I am getting is the number supplied to SP. Today's reading is 0002657.1. So that's 500kwh in 2 months... still twice what I used throughout my whole time with OVO. Anyone had
