Hiya!

 

It varies a bit, but on average the readings get collected between midnight and 7am - this is the same for both Daily and Half-Hourly mode.

 

For Monthly mode, it’s the same timeframe but only once a month.

 

Smart meter readings can be sent monthly, daily or half-hourly. We’d highly recommend half-hourly, as this’ll mean your bills will be as accurate as possible, and you’ll also have the most detailed usage breakdown shown on your online account and app.

Thanks Blastoise. Only had a smart meter for 3 weeks (didn’t want one). Yesterday’s reading wasn’t submitted. Is this a so-called teething problem with smart meters?

Most likely reason is it might not have processed yet - they usually show up by 5pm but sometimes a temporary issue might block the odd day.

Don’t panic - the next reading will resolve things anyway.

Blastoise186 has already left some helpful advice here, I’m glad you found that useful.

 

If the smart meters are newly installed 3 weeks ago, they may still be settling and as Blastoise mentions, they miss the odd one but the next reading would always catch it up anyway. 

 

If you spot quite a few missing after 6 weeks, I would get in touch with the Support Team but it sounds like a one off.
