Hey @bigchaoticgood

We don’t have access to accounts here at the Forum, so checking refunds isn’t something we’re able to do. These are common and have been confirmed as genuine comms from OVO, but if you’re ever unsure you can always contact the Support Team who’d be able to see if a refund has been processed on the account.

Please do let us know how you get on with this.

£185.  I wonder if it's because I moved in 2024 and have a different account number???

Morning @GarlicAndWool and a warm welcome to the Forum to you and @JessS01.

Thanks as well for your help here @JessS01 and @Nukecad.

@GarlicAndWool I don’t have access to customer accounts, so I want to be very careful about telling you if the email address is genuine or not. I will ask internally and will let you know if I hear back, but the best thing for you to do is contact our Support Team, and ask them about this. Give them your old account number of you have it, or your old address and postcode if you don’t. They’ll be able to locate the old account to see if there was any compensation attached to it, and there should be a note about it on the old account.

Please do keep us updated as to how you get on, and what they say. It sounds as if this may be genuine compensation similar to @JessS01’s experience, but I’d recommend speaking to Support just to make absolutely sure before clicking on anything.

Hi again @GarlicAndWool,

I’ve spoken to our back office, and I can confirm that the comms you’ve received, and the refund for £185, are both genuine.

Apologies for any alarm caused, and thanks for raising this on the Forum - it’s really useful for others to see who might have had the same email or letter.

Thanks for looking into that.  I did manage to speak to someone at OVO and they also confirmed that the payment and email were legit.  Thanks again!

Ignore - Post  made in error.

(Due to the new post threading system only showing me the OP rather than the latest reply. Note to self - be careful because it's not that obvious that there are already replies to the  OP when viewing on a phone).

I said, Hey - Watts going on.

I’m finding it confusing as well. I have to go down all the threads to open up the replies to make sure I haven’t missed anything that’s relevant only to find, on most occasions but not all, that I’ve already read them. It’s getting a bit tedious. That’s the reason I chose not to have ‘nested’ comments on my other forum.

Agreed. This nesting thing is not working for me!! Particularly now the green highlighted number, which used to link to unread posts, is now linking to the first post. It’s pretty meaningless.
