EcoDan flow temp dropping over night at coldest time

I have noticed that over night the flow temp drops a lot and our upstairs temps fall quickly.

Downstairs is very nice and warm.

Could anyone help explain what might be happening here?

My curve is 45@0 and 20@20. As you can see in the graph the flow temp was at its coldest when the temp outside was coldest. Graph is a 24 hour period.

Hmm. As I feared your installer had little interest in the running costs of your heat pump. That insulation is poor. You can improve matters and it won’t cost a huge amount. Screwfix, B&Q etc sell that grey foam pipe insulation. Your pipes there will be 28mm and poss 22mm. Every pipe that feels hot should be properly covered, as any gap will mean a little bit of heat loss.

It’s easy to cut with a bread knife or similar, cut at angles to fit it tightly together and round bends so there are no gaps. I used the little clips to hold it together as I found tape didn’t stick.

Make sure you keep a note of what it looked like before you make improvements and keep receipts if you’re going to demand reparations from your builder!!!

@razor you could try asking an installer who is guaranteed by HeatGeek to look over your system and list what’s wrong with it. There’s one I’ve found that covers your area though I don’t know if they’d offer this kind of auditing service. They’d charge I’m sure but it would be money well spent. Try https://earthnrg.co.uk

I never contacted them as the looked very far away. I did contact another 3 local Heat Geek affiliated companies and all of the said yes on the phone and never got back to me after sending details in email.
