Say hello to the new and improved OVO Forum Rewards & Recognition feature

As of 2026 we’ve rolled out a brand new Rewards and Recognition programme for our members. We want to shout about the great work carried out by our community that makes this Forum such a helpful source of knowledge for OVO customers and beyond.

We’ve introduced new profile badges, a revamped ranking structure and even the chance for members to win some exciting prizes for their efforts.

We’ve got a dedicated Forum space that describes the new badges and how to earn them, and how to move up through the ranks. You can access the space here.

Each month we’ll update this article to display the Forum members who’ve won awards, badges, or have just been amazingly helpful. This month, we’ve chosen 2025’s Forum Member of the Year, as well as the Forum Member of the Month for December. We’ve also given some shout outs to some other members that have done a lot to help the community over 2025.

August’s Community Highlights: Celebrating our top contributors

Hi again everyone ,

As we enter September I’ve got the nice job of letting you all know about our favourite contributors to the OVO Forum community last month. We’ve seen some amazing engagement across the platform in August, so it’s been hard to choose our winners.

As always, we on the Forum team, along with the wider OVO business, really appreciate what you do as a community. Here’s our top picks for August:

🌟 Member of the Month: @janie

We’re awarding @janie Member of the Month for August for the great advice she gave on this post around the best ways to use Dimplex storage heaters:

Thanks @janie for your help with this one. It’s great to have posts like this, as the information is incredibly helpful to many others who may not know the best ways to use these storage heaters. They can be hard to use, and also expensive if used incorrectly, so any good material we can get on this is always welcome, especially as we head towards Winter. I’ve added the Member of the Month and Helpful hero badges to your Forum profile.

I think it’s worth mentioning as well that @janie first came to the Forum because of a complex metering issue that took months to fix. She was really patient throughout the long time it took to be resolved, and the community gave some really helpful advice on the issue. @janie - we really appreciate you remaining as an active, helpful member of the Forum despite the initial difficulties you went through.

🥈 Runner-up: @Firedog

We’re shouting out @Firedog for August, for this fantastic thread he’s started about the new online account format (currently still in beta):

One thing the wider OVO business really values about the Forum is first-hand insight from our customers about products and services, and @Firedog’s thread (started off his own back) has provided some really useful feedback for our Product teams in charge of the online account changes.

There’s already a good handful of members leaving feedback about the new online account beta on Firedog’s post, and we’d really appreciate it if anyone else would let us know their thoughts on it. You can log into your online account here.

Thanks again @janie and @Firedog - prizes on their way to you both 😎.

How nice for the recognition, it's nice to be able to add some input, a lot of the topics on here go right over my head but this one was old fashioned (like myself) so I am pleased to have contributed

@janie

Even having knowledge of older equipment is useful. Do just need to make a contribution which is what you did so well done to you.

Reducing my yearly fossil fuel usage with an EV (-900 litres petrol saving about £950/year), A2AHP (-8,700 kWh gas, cost neutral) and Timed Immersion heater (-1,500 kWh gas, £20/year more expensive but reducing as the gas price goes up)

September’s Community Highlights: Celebrating our top contributors

Happy Friday, everyone,

Can you believe it's already October? It feels like this year has flown by, and soon we'll be digging out our Halloween decorations and enjoying the scent of pumpkin spice all around us. I've the fun task of recognising the community members who have been actively participating on the forum during September in our community spotlight.

We're grateful for our engaging community and truly appreciate all the posts and replies. Choosing our Member of the Month has been challenging with so many great contenders!

🌟 Member of the Month: Simon550

Congratulations to @Simon550 for being named our Member of the Month for September. They initially joined the forum seeking assistance, but ended up giving a valuable resolution and outlining the steps to achieve it.

You can read more about their contribution in the post below:

🥈 Runner-ups:

It was a difficult decision to choose an overall winner for the month, so we'd like to recognise three other community members for their outstanding efforts as well.

Firstly, it's no surprise that @Peter E is on our list for creating helpful and engaging content for our community. Below, you can find his article that includes valuable information on how to protect your EV and charger from electric surges:

Next, we have @juliamc, who provided a very helpful response to a discussion about the most efficient way to use a heat pump. Follow the link below to learn more:

Lastly, we have @Tomicity, who has shared an ongoing thread about a challenging meter installation in a tight space. They've provided a wealth of useful information along with images that showcase the before and after. You can check it out for yourself at the following link:

I'll reach out to all our winners to send you a small thank-you prize from the OVO Forum.
