power flex email is far to short notice

I know this has been said before about 7 months ago, but the email notice is much too short.
I’ve just received an email for today at 2pm. I’ve opted in but it’s a waste of time, as I have nothing to shift at this point.
It’s a shame, as I think it’s a good trial.

Our current trials are now closed, and we'd like to thank our users for their participation.

I wonder. I’m sure 24 hours’ notice would get much better participation than 2 hours, but is that ‘best overall’? It would be comforting for distributors to know, for example, that in an emergency 25% of customers would react given 2 hours notice by SMS, even though 90% would react given longer notice. The lower (‘less good’) response might be enough to mitigate the immediate problem and avoid having to take draconian measures like cutting everybody in the affected area off.

I hope when the trial data is analysed, the researchers take account of the lost opportunity cost. I’m not the only one saying it’s a good idea but a waste of good will. I’ve ‘saved’ 1p so far😁.
The nudge for me isn’t working, with a 2hour notice.
I agree that a text would probably be more useful for the short notice moves.
Ifind that my behaviour has changed a bit. I am more likely to leave the big use items like washing machines until the afternoon just in case. However, I won’t in the winter unless I know for sure.

Well it’s no good to me as l couldn’t use my free electric today as l am at work. so don’t what happens when you can’t use your free time. sometimes the emails come through late.

All feedback is very valuable @EnergyDee, this is a trial so we’re testing what works well & what could be improved 😊

Thanks for responding @Emmanuelle_OVO .
I appreciate it is a trial. I’m happy to be involved. I think it will probably prove to be useful for the company.

Keith  Lamb is correct

Why don’t they go back to the old system of notifying us the day before

Hi @violetgez @keithlamb ,

This is part of how the trial works, per the way its set up upstream with the CrowdFlex Project.

Some folks will get alerts the day before, others with shorter notice - it’s all about seeing what works best. You are probably in the cohort that gets the shorter notice. I’m afraid this cannot be modified at this time.

It may change in future runs.

Assume this thread relates to Power Move and the limited notification we get before an event. More notice would of course be helpful but the timing depends on usage on the grid and this often cannot be calculated earlier. Also this is a trial so no doubt it will develop in the future.

Yes you are right not enough time to do anything. but yesterday evening l kept getting emails for today don’t know if was an error or not about five or six for today thought it was strange. but might be able to do today’s one as l am not working today.

Hey everyone,

Just a reminder that Power Move Flex is a trial and part of Crowdflex. This means that we’re testing different communication methods and timescales to see what works best overall and we’re collating feedback from our users. As @Blastoise186 has said this can’t be changed once you’re in the group we’re using your feedback to help us build the future of Power Move Flex so the more indepth feedback you can give the more helpful it will be.

I encourage anyone participating to share constructive feedback on what works well for them and any challenges they encounter, along with the reasons behind those challenges. We all have different needs regarding how much notice we require, depending on our personal circumstances. I hope this information is helpful.
