Is Ohme no longer going to be compatible with Charge Anytime?

I agree that this falling out between Ovo & Ohme is not great news.

Ohme stating that the decision was made by Ovo & is outside of Ohme’s control.

I’m somewhat fortunate to have an EV that is on the beta compatible list, altho being a beta, it  doesn’t fill me with confidence that it will charge my EV each & every time I plug it in.

Moving forward,
Linking the vehicle instead of my Ohme charger to CA is easily done, but how is the CA credit gathered? 
Not receiving a breakdown of charge credits, does CA run per calendar month or does it follow my billing cycle.

Will I lose any banked CA credit by unlinking my Ohme charger & starting afresh with a linked vehicle.

When in my billing cycle / calendar month, would be the best time to unlink my charger & link a vehicle without losing any earned credit

What’s happens if CA drops integration to a vehicle that is on it’s beta list?

Since purchasing a BEV & taking on a fixed term contract, Ovo have put a cap on any CA credit I might receive & now CA has moved the goalposts to eligibility. (not all Ovo’s doing)

I am also on a fixed term contract with Ovo, so interested on hearing if Ovo will insist on running any fixed term contract until the end of term to customers with a Ohme charger fitted.

I have just fixed a few weeks ago, and out of the cooling off period by a matter of days. I take it I will not have to pay exit fees to go with another supplier, due to OVO’s decision to rescind my access to Charge Anytime (I don’t have a compatible vehicle).

I just had this very conversation with OVO over the phone. OVO will move any affected customer onto a variable tariff without an exit fee to allow transfer to another provider.

The poor woman I spoke to said they have around 12.5K affected customers and are inundated with calls -  indicated that there's been a fall out between the two companies which led to OMHE sending the emails before OVO got ahead of it. (And us understandably angry!)

Really poor communication led to this mess. I only just had my charger installed 2 weeks ago as the OMHE PRO was recommended. Now having to switch to Octopus after being with OVO (in one name or another) for 15 years!

Yeah the options are if your car can set up with Charge Anytime app and charge through the car you are ok and if not you are on full price tariff as you cannot use CA - so like many of us we have to move elsewhere

With you on this one as feel totally shafted and let down after 15 years as the loyalty only appears to be one way. The notice period is short and feels time constrained to make a decision. Spoke to Octopus over the weekend and they were very honest in saying they could not stop laughing about how badly it had been handled. I would have expected an offer to change up your charger for a compatible one even if it meant a lock in fixed for says 2 years. It does seem Ovo on this one have the morals of a snake

I got a Cupra born in May this year before I had a charger and charge successfully using a 3 pin plug. Charge anytime worked because I had connected the car not a charger, that’s all I could do at the time. I had done lots of research and it seemed Ohme was the best charger for me and I checked it worked with charge anytime. It did… then.

When the charger was installed (cost over £1000) I continued without adding the charger to my chargeanytime account. May’s savings were displayed in the app but I had no credit on my bill at the end of the month. I continued charging in June and my June bill showed May’s charges (I think) but they were different to what was shown in the app. I am now eagerly waiting the next bill to see if there is a one month delay, otherwise I could be losing nearly £60. 
There are so many saving options with Ovo I am very confused; I think I have signed up for them all where I can. But I am now likely to go to another supplier because I don’t want to have sign up to different things to get savings, I just want cheaper bills! Chargeanytime isn’t a discount, it is a partial refund made after the bill is issued.

I understand your thinking here, 

It’s worth finding out if the savings made through multiple schemes with OVO amount to significantly more savings that moving to a supplier of your choice. If so, it would be worth staying with OVO.

A lot of our savings options are rewarding customers for choosing renewable options. 

For customers who need financial support with their bills, there is extra support available:
 

​@Treefanet As the Anytime credit is applied to your account at the start of each calendar month, its just that its effectively in arrears. Its still a discount because if you don’t sign-up to CA you’d be paying the full unit rate.

It depends on the monthly date of your bill as to how you see it. For example mine is the 12th, so I see the reduction from the last calendar month ok and its done before the bill is issued. I suppose if you happened to have your bill cycle on the 1st, it might look like its issued after the bill, but that’s just a timing thing.

As for the other savings scheme’s, they are all aimed at slightly different methods of getting customers to move usage or act on different schemes. But ultimately they are help to reduce your bill. It won’t be much different with any other supplier, you will still have to take action to benefit. They won’t just happen automatically.
