How to set up your smart charger to use it with Charge Anytime

Updated on 23/05/25 by Emmanuelle_OVO

If you have a compatible charger then you need to link the charger to your OVO online account. You don’t need the additional Charge Anytime app.

We recommend opening your OVO online account in Google Chrome, and following these steps: (If this doesn’t work the first time please try this using a new ‘Incognito’ window)

  1. Go to the Offers and Upgrades section.
  2. Click on the Charge Anytime banner.
  3. Select the compatible charger that you have
  4. It’ll ask you for the username and password to log in to your charger manufacturers’ app.
  5. This will link your charger to your OVO account and you’ll get a new heading in your OVO account called ‘Your EV’.
  6. You’ll still need to schedule the charging in your charger manufacturers' app. And after you’ve charged, the savings will show in the Your EV section of your online account.

NOTE - If you ‘Boost’ or ‘Max Charge’ on the charger to charge immediately, this will bypass Charge Anytime and charge the car at your normal unit rate. See this topic for more details:

To link your Indra charger to your OVO account you’ll need your Indra Web Portal Username and Password

Indra has more than one platform to manage their chargers, and their own app doesn’t support Charge Anytime yet. They’ll need to move your charger over to the platform that does support Charge Anytime.

If you have an Indra charger and you don’t have a username and password you’ll need to contact Indra directly and they can set this up for you.

You can reach out to Indra via 01684 770 631 or by emailing support@indra.co.uk.

The app should guide you through. If you get stuck though, you can ask for advice here or call 0330 175 9678.

I had my Ohme charger fitted in September which I set up to my anytime account or at least I thought I had. After two phone calls to Ovo EV department with concerns regarding charge data not showing on account and no credit on statements. I was assured it was all connected properly and I would be credited. I’d like to add that this is my first experience of electric vehicle charging. It turns out after a third phone call today I am in fact not synced with the Ohme charger therefore have been charged at standard rate and that I needed to speak to Ohme. Ohme were helpful and advised me to get the ev charge anytime removed and start again. Which I have done however the data still not showing on my Ovo account and also the anytime tariff isn’t showing an option on my Ohme app. This is all very frustrating and by my reckoning I’ve paid at least £70 extra so far due to being on wrong trariff 🙄

Hey @Vmoody

I’m really sorry to hear about this.

Have you been back in touch with the Charge Anytime team since then?

They should be able to see on the account if it’s been linked and help you do so if not.

It could also be a case that it takes a couple of scheduled charges to get things fully synced up once you reconnect. Give that a try first and if that doesn’t help, definitely let the team know!

Electric car is a Skoda Enyaq

Home charger is a Ohme Home Pro

What do I need to do?

Hi,

I’ve recently had the Indra pro charger installed through OVO and it has been linked to the charge anytime tariff.

I understand how the boost button works and that may result in not getting the reduced tariff.

Just wondering how the off peak tariff works as I work a variety of different shifts so setting the schedule for the car to charge overnight every night and be ready for a certain time doesn’t always work for me.

If I remove the time schedules and just plug my vehicle in when parked up, will it automatically charge when the off peak tariff is available and the car requires charging?

Yes that’s right. Don’t set any times for charging. Just plug it in and Charge Anytime will do its work overnight.

Have you set up the Kaluza web based app? You should notice charging taking place during the evening albeit at the rate of 1.4 Kw. Then, later on and into the early hours it will pick up speed and charge at 7.4 Kw which is what you want. Job done by breakfast time. Don’t touch that boost button unless you have to.
