Finding current OVO tariffs and plans from the online account?

When I'm logged on to myAccount, I can't seem to find any links to show me the currently available tariffs and plans (like the information I received when I had to renew). Am I missing something?

The lack of a search facility from myAccount doesn't help either (or is that something else I've missed)?

Hey @HexhamUser,

Thank you for that great question.

Great to see our community members giving you some tip-top advice here.

We’ve got some great news! We’ve recently re-opened up our Fixed tariffs to everyone on the market. You can find out all about our available tariffs here: https://www.ovoenergy.com/home-energy-plans.

Take a browse through and see what’ll work for you.

Hope this helps.

The first Plan (Simpler Energy 01/10/2024) - any idea why it has 7 entries - all of which look the same?

You need to cut both of the filter options down from ‘All’.

Also tick ‘Available for sale’ so that it doesn’t show old ones that may still be in use but no longer available.

eg. If I set it to both fuels, Standard meter, Direct Debit then it cuts it down to just the one Simpler Energy plan and then the Fixed rate plans.

However if I leave it for All meter types, or All payment methods, then it shows the multiple Simpler energy options for each meter type/payment method, with the type/method shown in the RH column.

It would be nice if there was a filter for “Smart Meter” (or is that covered by “Multi-rate”)?

Rates aren’t dependent on whether the meter is smart or not, although the tariff they apply to may be confined to smart meters only (although I can’t think of any that do just now).* Multi-rate just refers to a meter capable of recording consumption on more than one register, the typical one being the dedicated Economy 7 meter. The supply for these meters usually has a different Profile Class (02 instead of 01), which you’ll see as the first box in the top line of the MPAN you see on bills. Many smart meters are capable of being configured to handle more than one rate, e.g. peak and offpeak. Do you see any significant difference between the single-rates for multi-rate and standard meters? If not, the question is pretty academic!

*  OVO doesn’t (yet) have any of the ToU tariffs that other suppliers make available exclusively to customers with smart meters. Special tariffs - like those for EV charging or running heat pumps - are billed by means of bolt-ons that simply apply discounts.

My renewal is due next month. Checking online there is an Online exclusive 1yr tariff listed dated 07.09.25, but when I go into my account it is not mentioned. So how can I access the online exclusive tariff to sign up? Anyone know as I'd like to take advantage before it's withdrawn? Tried to phone but of course OVO office is closed till Monday!

Hi,

I always ring customer services when my tarrif is about to end or there is a major drop in the tarrif rate.

I have been on 2 years fixes for the last 5 years, my current fix runs out mid 2026,

Ovo has always looked after me and been very happy 😁,

Ring them, i`m sure they can find you a good deal 🤞

It might be an ‘app exclusive’ offer.

Download the ‘OVO’ app on your phone, log in and explore. :)

I found the Online Exclusive 1yr Tariff on plan.ovoenergy.com. Checked on my plan and renewals offers on the app but it's not mentioned so I guess I'll have to wait till Monday and probably have to spend half the morning on hold 😕 hoping that the offer is still available. Wish me luck 🙏.

Btw. I mistyped the date of the offer it's 09.07.2025 !

@Tricia

I looked into the Online Exclusive tariff when I first saw it on offer a month or so ago.

in the Terms and Conditions  for it Is :-
https://www.ovoenergy.com/terms/online-exclusive-terms

2. Eligibility

2.1 Our Online Exclusive plan is available to new and existing OVO Energy customers who sign up exclusively through a specific price comparison website only.

(It was fairly “simples” to find which comparision website had it available,)

I queried it backstage at that time because why would an existing OVO customer use a 3rd party price comparision website to change or renew their existing OVO tariff?

It was agreed that it was odd and someone was supposedly looking into it, but never came back with an answer. (Probably because that particular tariff was removed for a period).

I’ll give the forum moderators a dig again, please bear with us because it will probably be at least Monday before they can get any answers from the tafiffs team.

Thanks Nukecad. I'll check back here then before I call customer services on Monday.

As your plan is nearing its expiry, it’ll always show you the new plans available. Just open the app, tap on the little person icon in the top right corner, then hit “Plan details.” You’ll see your current plan along with a message saying “Your plan’s ending soon” and “Choose your new plan.” No need to call OVO; I’ve found some better plans from other providers, so I’m still deciding whether to switch or renew with OVO.

Except that the “Online Exclusive” isn’t shown with the other ones offered in ‘Choose your new plan’. (TBH it probably should be there. but it isn’t).

So unless you looked at the ‘Our Plans pages at https://plans.ovoenergy.com/ , or happened to see it on that specific comparision website, then you wouldn’t even know about it.
