Audi Q4 not charging with Charge Anytime app

Ok so this seems to be a problem with Audis after doing some research. I have a project ev charger and after doing through all the options I can’t get the app to charge via the smart charge. So annoying. You connect it to the car, the app says it’s connected you tell it when you want it charged by and it does nothing all night. Even when you press for an urgent charge it doesn’t work. Contacted the support email, not much help to be honest. Anyone sorted this problem out?

Not sure how I can test that.

all works fine if I delete the anytime app and just plug it in direct.

If you mean via the charger, that suggests that the charger is working ok. Presumably you’ve looked at the guide
As you mention, there have been other reports of Audi being problematic with Charge Anytime recently. Have you had a response from the support team chargeanytime@ovoenergy.com ?

What time was your charge set for? I set my times for one during the day and then one at night so say one at 10am to 5pm then 5pm right through the night till 10am again. So it knows to smart charge at night.

The charge was set to run 11pm to 5.30am, seemed to kick in briefly at some point but didn’t last very long. So short my Project EV app didn’t pick it up but the charge anytime app did.

Makes sense though what you have said, covering a full 24hr period. I’ll do the same.

Do you get this message saying there’s a period with no power?

Not sure if that message comes up. I will check tonight.

I would set the finish time to 1am, then if you plug it in around say 6pm it should start charging about 7 ish maybe 7.30 then go off at 8 and back on again later but the majority of the charge is being done early to late evening.  That way you get some charge before the morning so you can actually use the car to go to work etc.

Okay, thanks mate.

I’ve set it to 00:00-00:00, think that’s correct?

Had a charge scheduled last night and got 1.4kWh… although I Hadn’t made the changes you suggested then so hopefully some more luck tonight.

thanks for you help

FYI - just in case anyone else is still struggling and reading this. I had no success last night despite the setting changes on the Project EV app and the confirmation from OVO that Audi issues have been resolved.

I’ll keep tweaking my settings to see if there’s a sweet spot and pass the info on in case it’s of use to anyone else else

O dear that’s a shame, I checked the project ev app and I don’t get that message you got. Although when I looked at the smart settings in the app they were not enabled which was weird.

Do you get that green dot or is it yellow? This means the car and app are talking to each other. It should update fairly regularly.

Yeah, it’s green most of the time (actually not sure if I’ve ever seen it yellow). The car is away and not plugged in and it’s last updated roughly 45mins ago.

I’ve asked OVO for some more support as it seems everything should be working

Hey @GcGibson,

I’m sorry to hear you’re still having issues,

If you’re able to pop back with an update once chargeanytime@ovoenergy.com replies that might be really helpful to other community members on this topic thread.
