My meters are on the outside of my house with the garage between us. The ' in home display' constantly says ' lost connection '. Is it because its more than 2 metres from the meter or is it faulty?
Please can you go into System Status on the IHD and post a photo of what you see there.
Hi @Ljb67 the status code 26-0 is the network down or lost. From what you described in above it sounds like you have lost the network. When the IHD first looses the network it will re-try for around 30 minutes before saying the network is down. If it then manages to pick up the network again it will show the normal energy screens. Should it loose the network it will go through the process above.
I am assuming it does occasionally pick the smart meter network.
The two meter codes 28-2 and 29-2 can be ignored for now, as the IHD has lost the network.
You should never need to reset the device to get it to connect. Occasionally switching it off and then on again may be needed.
It could be the IHD is at the edge of its range, based on your description above. When it does connect how many bars does it show in the banner? Range is less about how far from your meters, rather what is between the meters and IHD that may impact the signal.
The icon is the top-left of the banner bar and looks like a mobile signal strength indicator. If it is down at one, then it is at the edge of its range.
You can try moving the IHD to the meters (you will need 3x AAA batteries), I would expect the IHD to show all the bars.
Let me know how you get on and I can see what else we can do.
If you were a customer of OVO I’d be telling you to check your online account to see if smart meter reads were coming through automatically. If they’re not, then the problem will be with the smart meter. However, if the reads are coming through, then the problem will be with your In Home Display. If it’s a problem with the smart meter(s) then they may need to be replaced. However, if it’s a problem with the IHD, then your supplier may be able to run what’s called an ‘XJOIN’ as @Blastoise186 has mentioned, which is a remote request sent to the IHD to get it showing data again.
Eventually got a response from EDF best they can do is offer me to buy a new ihd unit costing over 50 pounds which Im not going to pay so looks like I won't have a ihd anymore
Hi Guys sorry took so long to reply and update. Im still in the same posistion I was since my origionall communication.
Despite spending over 6 hours with OVO ENERGYin online chat support!
I have come to the conclusion nobody can tell me what the problem is despite being given various reasons, They say they are recieving info from my smart meter and so i guess thats all they care about.
My Landis & Gyr E470 Type 5394 electric meter with comms hub directly above SKU1 Cellular has 5 led lights SW/WAN/MESH/HAN/GAS. Four of these flash together green every 5seconds or so.
The ONLY led that does not light up ATALL is HAN
And so my GEO TRIO 11 is constant METER NETWORK PROBLEM NOT CONNECTED TO METER NETWORK ? CONNECTION LOST
If you can grab us the Status Codes from the IHD, that’d help a ton - it’ll tell me exactly what’s going on. I already have an idea, but I want to be sure.
Thanks
