Just so you know, most insurers will allow you to dispose of ruined food without needing to keep it for the duration of such claims. Definitely check the terms of your policy to be sure, but most of them would be OK with it.

This is often covered by home insurance. Check your policy, or call the insurer.

A half-full freezer should keep food at a sufficient temperature for 24 hours with the door closed. I'm surprised it thawed so quickly. What sort of freezer is it, or is it an ice compartment in a fridge?

Hey @Lubyloo

Sorry to hear about this.

As a few of our volunteers have already mentioned, this isn’t the responsibility of your supplier, but may be covered by a home insurance policy in some cases. It’ll be best to check your own policy for details.
