My Skoda Enyaq keeps losing the connection to Charge Anytime

My Skoda Enyaq keeps losing the connection to Charge Anytime.  Skoda servers are working and the car is sharing its location in an area of strong wifi next to the Hypervolt charger. How can I make it connect so I can get the cheaper charging?

Hi @jackiecamb , the best overview I think I’ve seen is here - assuming that your smart meter is sending half-hour readings and you are not using the car app settings

You may have already gone through this of course. If you still have problems, try the team ovocharge@ovo.com

Hi @jackiecamb

Not sure if we have the same issue or not. I got my Skoda Enyaq in July last year and have had a couple of random issues but 99% of the time it's been fine until Monday 15th Jan.

My Charge Anytime app said my car last sent comms at 10.52am. My Skoda App is working perfectly, my charger is working perfectly. I called the Charge anytime team and they said they think its an issue at Skoda side. Skoda say there's no issue their side.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the Skoda connect app and the Charge anytime app. I've also deleted both accounts and re-registered both.

When I try to connect the skoda to Charge anytime through Kaluza I get confirmation of the below, then the screen goes white when I press complete then I get the "unable to connect " screen.

Both parties blaming each other and it just stopped working. In the meantime I'm charging my car at £0.29 per kwh rather than £0.07 and if not fixed quickly it'll cost me an extra £40-£50 a week.

Hoping someone else on here has had the same issue and can give me a resolution??

Cheers

Hey @Robbo2716,

I’m sorry to hear this,

It sounds like you’ve taken all the right steps, my advice would be to re-raise this to chargeanytime@ovoenergy.com so they can escalate to Kaluza.

This is most likely fixed now. My car is connecting in.

Yes it's working again now. None the wiser as to what the issue was but at least its working 👍

Yes seems to be working again. I heard that if you look at https://status.enode.io the current status can be seen. Enode sits between OVO and Skoda apparently. Info courtesy of Andy Wood on FBk.

I’ve got a charge running which is something at least.

So glad to hear everything is now running as it should! Pop back if any further issues arise.

I have an ohme charger and a skoda enyaq iv 80. Charge Anytime is connected to car not charger.

Before charging at home, the car's "send location data" setting is "true". CA detects I am home smart charges at the EV rate.

However, after a successful smart charge,  the car's "send location data" setting has been mysteriously changed to "off". In this state, the charge anytime app thinks the car is away from home even though it is not so I get charged the full unit rate rather than the cheap EV rate.

This is very frustrating as unless I manually switch "send location data" back on after every charge I don't get any benefit from CA.

Especially annoying given connecting via the charger - before ohme support was dropped - worked flawlessly and at that point I'd of recommended CA to everyone.

Howdy @milton_mansions ,

This doesn’t sound like something OVO is turning off - it’s more likely a vehicle issue.

I’d suggest having a word with Skoda about this.
