Charge Anytime - how can I switch cars, or connect Charge Anytime to multiple vendor accounts?

After a small number of charges with the Charge Anytime bolt-on I can see a credit on my OVO account so it seems to be working albeit with a few small issues.

The sign up process asked if I had one or more EVs so it would follow that the ability to add more should be available or if a manufacturer account which is connected to the Charge Anytime account has multiple cars within it there should be some mechanism to either manually select which vehicle is waiting to be charged or perhaps Charge Anytime should detect which is ready to charge automatically.

I need to charge a second car which is in my "My Renault" account but am still waiting for a reply regarding my situation and what I should expect to do to make this work.

Does anyone know how one can switch from one car to another or to connect Charge Anytine to multiple vendor accounts? (For example Renault and Vauxhall or two Renault accounts).

Any help much appreciated so I can charge at the reduced rare.

Thanks

You’re able to add more than one EV for Charge Anytime from within the Charge app. You can download the app here.

Hi @Scott EV , there are several people asking about this. If you have a compatible charger, you can connect any EV to it - just not at the same time.
If you’re going down the compatible EV route, then some have tried to use this but found problems at present

Hi there,

Is it possible to add a second car to the Charge anytime app. If not are there any workarounds for this.

cheers

@Scott EV

Yes, with the V2.0.0 Anytime app it’s working for both vehicles now. Thanks for sorting just in time for my second EV arriving Ovo!

Hi

My wife is about to get a Cupra Formentor PHEV and I’m thinking about swapping my car for a Polestar 2 in the near future. We don’t currently have a charger installed so can choose an OVO compatible model as the Polestar isn’t compatible itself, but could someone explain how the app and scheduling would work in that scenario?

Can you swap between cars in this way without issues? My wife would probably need to charge hers every 2-3 days and me hopefully not that often as I have access to chargers available at work, but I will want to charge the Polestar at home sometimes. If we both need to charge one after the other how does the app handle that scenario?

Many thanks

Last time this was mentioned, with a compatible charger it should work as that works with any EV. It might be worth checking with the team (edited by moderator)

I have an Indra Smart Pro linked to Charge Anytime.

Most of the time it's used to charge my Cupra Born, but every now and then a friend with a Merc EQA visits, and charges while she's here.  I just change the car model from mine to hers in the Indra App (so it 'knows' what it's dealing with), and it charges without any problem.

I can't see why that strategy wouldn't work on a daily basis if necessary, and it's easy enough (takes moments) to do.

Thanks both, I’ve pinged an email to support to check. It looks like one of the Ohme chargers would be the best to go for if it can do the same as it’s also fully supported by the tentacled energy company should we ever need to switch, just to keep future supplier options open as much as possible :)

One thing Indra gives you is solar PV as an option but if that’s not on the cards then the Ohme is probably a good bet

Thanks yep we’ve not got solar at the moment and although I’d like it at some point, there’s lots of other things the house needs before we invest in that so very unlikely in the next few years.

Evening all

Could I please ask for some help and guidance on how to use charge anytime in my situation please which is outlined as below:

  • I have an Ohme Home pro smart charger
  • I have previously had a different EV and benefited from charge anytime without using the dedicated Charge anytime app. I used the ohme app to manage charging and saw my credit in the standard OVO account app
  • I have just changed to a Skoda Enyaq and saw there was a dedicated charge anytime app so I downloaded this thinking it would be easier and connected it to the skoda successfully and can see the charging credits.
  • As of today we now also have a 2022 Vauxhall corsa-e - this is not listed in the charge anytime app so I cant add this vehicle.

I have  a few  questions please:

1) as I have a compatible smart charger will the vauxhall benefit from charge anytime?

2) will there be conflict with the charge anytime app if I plug the vauxhall in and it doesn't see its the skoda so wont charge or give credits? or will it work fine ?

3) am I better off getting rid of the charge anytime app and carrying on as I did before ?

4) if so will I have to change my vehicle everytime on the ohme app as it cant manage 2 vehicles (Ohme problem  I guess)

I'm getting a bit confused so apologies for my naivety and lack of understanding.

All help appreciated!
