Is Ohme no longer going to be compatible with Charge Anytime?

Hi there,

On Thursday I done an install at a customers house and I asked him who his energy supplier was and he mentioned OVO, I said you will get the 7p tariff but he said it is going up to 14p is this true?

I’ve also been told ohme is no longer going to be compatible with charger anytime, is this true and what if you have a existing ohme charger?

From 15 July Ohme chargers will no longer be compatible with Charge Anytime. We’ve recently updated the technology behind Charge Anytime. This is so we can keep making improvements and create new products that reward customers for driving EVs.

It's not been possible to integrate Ohme with this new technology. If you have an Ohme charger you’ll still be able to sign up to Charge Anytime by connecting with an eligible vehicle. We’re constantly looking to open up the eligibility to more EV models so if you don’t see your EV here, keep an eye on our page.

You can see all eligibility details in our Charge Anytime page here.

Hey @ScottRux5,

I’ve left an article below that links to a recent change to our T&C’s but confirms that the charging rate is 7p.

I haven’t heard anywhere that Ohme will lose compatibility. We’ve actually been launching more chargers with Andersen and Hypervolt joining our lineup. I hope this helps!

Hey @HangNail999,

I don’t believe it’s got anything to do with Solar and from what I gather it’s more behind the scenes improvements. We’re always looking at ways of making our products and services better and I don’t think that Ohme couldn’t come with us on that journey.

You’ve made some good points though we’re seeing more and more customers with both Solar and EV’s/Charge Anytime and we’ve had feedback trials on what customers want to see going forward. If you ever have any ideas you can submit them through the Forum and we can put them in front of the right people who can consider them. I’ll leave the link below for anyone interested!

Welcome @ScottRux5 to the community! Thanks for your excellent first reply sharing your personal experience. If you already have an EV, send me a message and I'll add an EV badge to your profile, similar to Hangnail's. I didn't see any mention in your profile, so I wanted to check!

Hey @philgb & @mikes01666,

I’ve merged your other thread into this one as it’s the same question. There’s an official response from OVO on the best answer with the most up to date information that we currently have. If this changes we’ll update this and adjust the time stamp so you know when it was last done.

Any questions give me a message!

So this topic of conversation is currently generating a lot of noise on various social media groups related to Ovo Charge Anytime and Ohme Chargers with conflicting messages.

Ovo appear to be telling people (as per @Chris_OVO here) that there will be no change for existing customers/users.

Ohme appear to be telling people that on the 15th July, the Charge Anytime tariff addon will be removed from their chargers/accounts and charging managed through the Ohme will revert to full rate. Anytime will then be unavailable unless you are able to alter your setup to function via a compatible car.

It would be great to get a bit of formal communication from either company, as clearly behind the scenes things have happened, but the (lack of) public communications about it all are just creating confusion and worry.

If what Ohme are saying is true and existing customers will get shifted off the Charge Anytime platform on the 15th July, both companies are going to have a lot of unhappy customers on their hands.

Hi - I’m a new account user with an Ohme Home pro.

Can someone let me know which tariff I should select on the Ohme Charger App?

(Charge Anytime is not listed)

Thanks.

Hi @Skodarally ,

You won’t be able to select any tariff for that purpose I’m afraid - Ohme has pulled the plug on Charge Anytime for new customers. However, you may still have options yet via Direct 2 Vehicle mode in the Charge Anytime app if you have a compatible vehicle.

By your username, I’m guessing you’ve got a Skoda? If so, any of these should work:

  • CITIGOe iV (2019+)
  • Elroq (2024+)
  • Enyaq (2020+)
  • Kodiaq (2024+)
  • Octavia (2020+)
  • Superb (2019+)
  • Superb iV (2020+)

The problem I have it that it’s still got Octopus Intelligent loaded and I think I need to replace it with something to clear the Octopus settings.

I see - you should just be able to plug in a random OVO tariff with any random rates to get rid of that problem. I’d say input your “normal” OVO tariff for now.

This sounds like an issue with social media users giving out bad info. It seems even the Ohme AI Bot on the support chat is also giving out confusing information - I’ve reminded them of the need to fix that.

They aren’t being very… Forthcoming… With information either… I cannot verify the rumours either way because I’ve been unable to get solid information out of Ohme.

Best I can think of is to contact them directly as I can only assume that someone that side may have leaked something that’s causing the confusion.

What I do know is that OVO wants to make everything run via Enode which has the side benefit of it working with basically every supplier and not just specific ones. It is said that this is why the Indra stuff got moved over to the Charge Anytime app - it released the exclusive grip that OVO/Kaluza previously held over Indra setups.

Ohme has so far refused to integrate with Enode, so it could be argued that this is Ohme not playing ball rather than OVO.

I contacted ovo this morning and was put through to the charge anytime team.

I have a new Peugeot E3005 plus Ohme charge system, have been an ovo customer for a few years.

My charge credits have been immediately stopped, no more charge credits will be credited to my ovo account.

Ovo are blaming ohme. Ohme seem to blaming ovo.

Ovo will not accept my Peugeot E3008 or my ohme charger. My options are to leave ovo and my early termination fee will be waived or stay with ovo and pay the full kWh rate

I feel totally let down by Ovo and Ohme. The actions and communications from both companies are a disgrace

It looks like OVO just unleashed a few more EV brands - Lexus, Toyota and Xpeng - onto the Beta EVs list, as well as EVEC to the Beta Chargers list.

It’s possible that Peugeot might be added at some point. I can’t promise when, but it could happen.
