Hi there,

On Thursday I done an install at a customers house and I asked him who his energy supplier was and he mentioned OVO, I said you will get the 7p tariff but he said it is going up to 14p is this true?

I’ve also been told ohme is no longer going to be compatible with charger anytime, is this true and what if you have a existing ohme charger?

From 15 July Ohme chargers will no longer be compatible with Charge Anytime. We’ve recently updated the technology behind Charge Anytime. This is so we can keep making improvements and create new products that reward customers for driving EVs.

It's not been possible to integrate Ohme with this new technology. If you have an Ohme charger you’ll still be able to sign up to Charge Anytime by connecting with an eligible vehicle. We’re constantly looking to open up the eligibility to more EV models so if you don’t see your EV here, keep an eye on our page.

You can see all eligibility details in our Charge Anytime page here.

Hey @ScottRux5,

I’ve left an article below that links to a recent change to our T&C’s but confirms that the charging rate is 7p.

I haven’t heard anywhere that Ohme will lose compatibility. We’ve actually been launching more chargers with Andersen and Hypervolt joining our lineup. I hope this helps!

According to the OVO Charge Anytime website, the Ohme charge point is not being shown as supported.

Hey @HangNail999,

I've updated the best answer in this thread. Our EV customers can no longer onboard to Charge Anytime with their chargers and will need to onboard with a compatible EV. We are updating affected threads, so thank you for flagging this one.

I’m guessing that Ohme have been dropped because it’s the only one that’s not solar-compatible?
Do OVO have any preference between Anderson, Hypervolt and Indra?

Between those three, OVO has no known preference.

In terms of what we see on the Forum though, Hypervolt hardly ever seems to have issues - but we rarely see Andersen discussed here.

Yeah ohme are not solar compatible so that’s why they are getting dropped. As long as you have good WiFi at the CP position. Since Indra done their update the connection to the WiFi have been loads better. Hypervolt nothing wrong with them and come in a few colours.

I heard Ovo and Ohme are parting ways!

Anyone else heard about this?

Any clue as to what options are available?

As far as I’m aware, this only affects NEW setups - existing users won’t be disconnected at this time.

If your EV is compatible, you can go down that route instead and still use the system.

Any more information on this?

I thought the EV charger market was converging and agreeing standards to reduce the minefield that the consumer is faced with.

Is this software or hardware based?

Does this mean 'older' users being abandoned in a couple of years and being left with dumb terminals at best or doorstops at worst,

AFAIK the whole idea is that OVO does want to use a more standardised method (that’s why Enode exists!), but Ohme doesn’t seem interested in doing so.

The tech moves on eventually - both hardware and software - but it’s up to all parties to play nice to keep it working. If one party refuses, the entire game crashes out. That appears to be Ohme in this case - they were the last remaining integration that didn’t run on the standard system.

I’m not aware of any plans to disable existing setups - only new signups are blocked.
