Charge Anytime won’t connect to BMW

Hi,

I’ve been trying to setup Charge Anytime to connect with my BMW X5 50e.

I don’t have a compatible charger but the car is listed as compatible.

Ive downloaded the Charge Anytime App and successfully logged in. It all works up until the point where I need to log into my BMW acccount to give permission. The App appears to direct me towards the BMW USA site (I’m in the UK). I’ve setup an account for the USA site to see if this helps but now just get an error.

Ive logged into my BMW UK account outside of the app to see if I can give permissions but can’t find anything.

Ive emailed the Charge Anytime team but the only response was to contact BMW. BMW customer services have no idea what I’m talking about. I emailed OVO back and explained that and I think the issue is probably to do with Kaluza or Enode and where the app is directing me.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hey @Chris03026132

I heard back from the Charge Anytime team and they’ve gave the following advice:

“We're aware of an issue that affected BMW and Mini customers, which redirected them to the USA site when trying to link with Charge Anytime. This has now been resolved and you should be able to sign up to Charge Anytime.I recommend deleting the app and the app's cached data, redownloading the app and trying again.”

Could you give this a try when you have the chance and let us know if it worked for you? You can also speak directly with a member of the Charge Anytime team by:

  • Calling 0330 175 9678 (Option 1 new customers/option 2 existing customers)

  • Email via chargeanytime@ovo.com

  • Webchat, click the link then the green chat icon at the bottom right of the page

I hope this helps!

Hi Chris,

Still doesn’t work. I tried all the steps you mentioned above a few times throughout the evening but I still get directed to the USA BMW site.

Just to double check, I used another device that is not linked to me in any way and installed the Charge Anytime app on that. Exactly the same issue unfortunately.

Regards,

Chris

Hey @Chris03026132

Let me take this away and follow up with the team to let them know it’s an ongoing issue. Thank you for also testing it with another device that’s really helpful to know! I’ll let you know as soon as I have an update for you.

Hey @Chris03026132,

The Charge Anytime team have asked if you could email them at chargeanytime@ovo.com and they’ll ask the software developers to take a look at it. You could add Forum - BMW CA issues as the subject line if you like and they’ll keep an eye out for this hitting the inbox.

Keep me updated on how things go 😊

This issue looks like it’s marked as solved but can I ask what the resolution was please? I’m having exactly the same issue which I’ve emailed OVO yesterday.

I get to the Kaluza page and then it routes me to BMWusa. It feels like this is the part of the process is broken.

Thanks

Natalie

Hi @LongleyN ,

The Charge Anytime wants to talk to you directly if you’re having this issue. Please call them on 0330 175 9678 and they’ll discuss further. It’s a fix they need to do on their end so there’s not much we can add to the marked answer here beyond what’s already posted.

We tried to re-add the car after it stopped working on Sunday which is how we ended up going through this.

Thank you for responding though! I’ll call tomorrow.

Team

I have also experienced the same problem. My BMW was also connected to the Charge Anytime app and it started giving trouble a few weeks ago in Jan 2025 (not charging in scheduled time) and decided to reconnect my car to the app only to be redirected to BMWUSA site when I tried to do that. So now my car is not connected any more. I have raised a problem ticket and your team has escalated for technology support. Sharing this in case more users encounter this problem.
