OVO think I have an RTS meter, is this correct?

I can take another picture when I get home. 

I don't recall seeing any other box or radio labels. 

It's just a small locked cupboard with meters for 2 apartments in it. 

This is all I can see 

The black box under the meter is labelled protected multiple earth

No tele switch box and nothing labelled radio 🙁

The RTS determines when there is power to heating equipment, and makes sure that it’s recorded as offpeak usage. It’s not just the switching bit, turning heaters on and off when the DNO says so, but also the recording bit. That involves the RTS unit sending a signal to the meter to start or stop recording offpeak on the ‘low’ register. There’s no sign of the cable that would carry this signal to your meter, so we can safely say that this is not an RTS-controlled system (I take it you checked the consumer unit and anything near it).

Yes I checked everything I could see in that cupboard.

This apartment has a few electric heaters each of which  have a switch on the wall. And an electric hot water tank. I can't see anything else obvious and I can't see anything labeled anywhere.

The consumer unit is the meter itself?

I pressed the button and it cycles from on peak to off peak readings and a digital clock. The clock doesn't seem to change for daylight savings either.

‘Consumer unit’ (CU) is the current name for what used to be called a fuse box. It doesn’t normally contain any fuses these days, just a load of circuit breakers. RTS units are often placed near the CU rather than near the meter.

Any help identifying this would be great! My OVO account doesn't seem to think I have an RTS meter but I have no idea what this is attached to my meter. An engineer came around five months ago after the landlord asked us to fit smart meters, but he informed me the overall meter set up wasn't safe enough for him to do anything with (an unpinned floating block etc). Although the landlord and agency were duly informed they since haven't done anything, and now the radio shut off date is approaching I'm so worried that the landlord's laziness will essentially mean my power is cut off.

Doesn’t look RTS to me - this very much looks like a local timeswitch so won’t be affected by the RTS Shutdown.

Please post more photos and details of your situation though. If we can offer advice on it, we will happily do so.

No. It’s a good old fashioned electro-mechanical timeswitch with two jobs: turn the power on and off to storage- and water heaters, and switch the tariff between Normal/Day/Peak and Low/Night/Offpeak rates. Have you checked whether it’s still showing the right time? They do have a habit of drifting over the years, and that one looks to be a bit long in the tooth … It’s a pity the photos aren’t a bit sharper, because it’s not easy to decipher the markings.

At any rate, this isn’t radio-controlled and it won’t be affected by the RTS shut-down.
