How to reschedule smart meter appointment on a weekend?


Why is there no option to change my smart meter installation date online? Despite their text massage saying I would be able to change it online. It’s Saturday and I want to change my appointment from Monday to Tuesday, but if the only option is to phone them then I can’t do that until Monday morning since the phone lines are closed at weekends, which is less than 24 hours notice, and hence a  £30 fine.

There should be an option to-reschedule online but there isn’t.  The screenshot I gave is from https://smart-booking.ovoenergy.com/   

Here is the whole page. The ONLY option is to reschedule by phone, but of course the lines are closed over the weekend.

Since the phone number is the ordinary support one, you should be able to get in touch with the same team via Twitter or Facebook, and they should be there today:

Send a DM with your account no., name, address, postcode and date of birth so they know who they’re dealing with, and then post in their feed to say you’ve sent a DM.

 

Have just installed the OVO app, and found this .. if you’re ill you can cancel within 24 hours without penalty… provided you know how to call [object Object] lol.

That app issue is definitely something we can flag via the forum. We’ll let the forum moderators know. We’re only volunteers on the forum, so we’ll need to get their help to raise this. I’m always testing the app to destruction, so it kinda helps that the app team knows this forum well.

Please can you tell us what phone you use, and the OS version? Also, please go to Account > App Info and tell us the App and CodePush Versions you see there. This helps a lot when the moderators reach out to the team.

@Blastoise186 - Sure .. my phone is a Moto G62 with Android version 12. The App version is 16.7.0 and the CodePush version is v413.

It’s a shame they never mentioned that in any of their texts or emails, or on their website or on their app. It’s less than 24 hours before the installation now so I suspect it can’t be postponed without incurring a penalty.

tbh with the recent chaos that Elon Musk is causing on Twitter, I probably wouldn’t recommend going down that route anyway. Especially if Elon is just going to lock down Twitter again.
