Why can't I see the new Beyond, free 2 hours heating offer?

Earlier this week the App was showing a headline in Beyond Rewards inferring that Free Hours was returning.  It has now disappeared - is there a prospect of Free Hours coming back or did it appear in error ?

Rebooted my iPad and it has magically appeared !  Must have been something to do with caches or some such technospeak. 

 

Please ensure your OVO app is up to date in the app store if you’re still having issues after trying both of these steps, do let us know below.

Its there for me as free heating - and it has intentionally returned as a new offer.

I can see offers concerning Solar Panels, EVs  and Heat  Pumps but nothing similar  to the Free Hours scheme that ran in Spring and early Summer.

Worth noting, though, that this free offer is different from the previous one in certain respects: mainly in that this one relates to smart meter usage gas consumption as ​@Blastoise186 points out, up to a maximum of 5 free kWh for each hour of the weekly 2 hour slot (for those on dual fuel or gas only tariffs) or, for electricity only subscribers, an imputed gas-equivalent credit of the maximum weekly 10 kWh amount (about £0.63p per weekly slot).  And there’s only one 2 hour slot available per week to claim.

 

So, long story short, I think I’m right in saying the monthly maximum possible money amount of this winter’s gas free hours is roughly equivalent to the previous free hours weekly electricity maximum, between £2 and £3 per month for the next few months.

As with everything you have to read the Terms and Conditons.

In this case to save wera on everyones’ brain cells b I already translated the main points into more understandable language:

It’s called “A little help with your heating” and is a scheme based on your GAS usage.

It is free Gas - NOT free electricity.

If you are an electricity only customer you can still take part, and get an equivalent credit each month. (not bad for just tapping a fewbuttons each week).

Nope - screen looks identical to yours but top item "A Little Help With Your Heating" is missing.  

I wonder if it is missing for all electricity only customers?

Yep, and I’m already signed up for the first week’s bonanza:

 

 

It may be a case of trying the good old remedies - remove the app and re-install it, clear its data and so on. You know more about that sort of thing than this dinosaur does.

Deleted App and reinstalled but it made no difference. Still can’t see A Little Help With Your Heating.

Unless someone from OVO is reading this, not sure how I can get any further.

I had an email saying there was a new question so came on here to find out about it.

After scrolling through the App, I found the relevant page and have signed up even though I am only an electricity user.

It will be interesting to see whether the slot/s available will be of any advantage to me as I have solar panels too.  But no harm in having a look!

As you’re Electric Only, there’s no slots for you this time around - just remember to bash the button in the app every week and you’ll get the credit automatically.

It resets every Monday around midnight, so I’d say do it every Monday morning.

I am a dual user. Ive logged out and back in. Ive deleted the app and reinstalled it. I still havent got the A Little Help With Your Heating showing on the app. Help please.

If you have joined ‘Beyond’, I found it under ‘Offers’ at the bottom of the App; you need to scroll down a bit and should appear with a ‘NEW’ against it.

No, not there either. I'm only getting Power Move, see your latest progress under Beyond Rewards and no New offers.

Ok so now Ive found it, it wont let me sign up. Clicking on the button but nothing happening. Checked back on the home page and it's still not showing under Beyond Rewards section.

You still pick a slot, but as an electricity only customer it doesn’t matter which slot it is as long as you do remember to pick one each week.

@Belinda5 are you still unable to sign up? If so please delete your app and reinstall it so that you’re on the latest version, then try again.

 

Once you’ve done this please let us know if its working.
