My query is whether I can buy a top up card for my daughter’s pay as you go meter for her electricity to give to her to use ? She lives in another town and i hoped to see if it were possible for me to buy a card to give to her when i see her.
From what I gather, it might be the case that she would need to use her card and that would mean that I would need to be with her when she tops up to pay. Is that correct ?

If it’s a Traditional Meter then I’m afraid you can only use the active Key/Card and only one can be active at a time. Activating another one boots the existing device out for security reasons. So to top-up for your daughter, you’d need to borrow her key for a bit. You are, of course, absolutely 100% allowed to do this as long as you remember to return the device afterwards and understand that there’s no going back once the transaction is complete.
On the off-chance it’s a Smart Meter though… You can do a guest mode top-up via https://ovoenergypayments.paypoint.com - you just need the card number and can fire a top-up at the meter whenever you want, wherever you want. :)

I’d recommend that she gets a smart meter installed free of charge, as this will mean that she can top up and view her balance on our PAYG top up app, and won’t need to go to the PayPoint:
