Great work for taking your meter readings - if you haven’t got Smart Meters, you’ll need to check the readings and send them over to us monthly.

The easiest way to submit these is via the app (available for Android and iOS).

On the homepage, you’ll find a box labelled ‘It’s time to send a meter reading’. Here you’ll find when to submit your next reading(s).

Exact appearance may vary

Click ‘Submit a meter reading’ to take you to the ‘Meters’ page, where you can submit your readings. You can also ‘Turn on meter reading reminders’ which will mean you’ll get monthly emails a week before the reading is due.

Exact appearance may vary

Here you’ll see the meter serial number for each of your meters as well as the last meter reading that was submitted and the date this reading was received. If you’ve got a traditional meter, you can view a full rundown of all the meter readings you’ve previously sent us by clicking ‘view reading history’.

Exact appearance may vary

We’ve got a really great topic guide dedicated to this which may also be helpful:

How about a way to submit meter readings online that doesn’t always respond “Oops, there’s a problem… “.  Now that would be progress !

Hi @AErwood ,

Sorry but as an account specific issue, this isn’t a valid Idea. Please try https://ovoenergy.com/help for this one in the morning - the Support Team can help you out.

I’ve moved your topic over to an area dedicated to this account stuff, @AErwood. I’d be interested to know, does this error message show when you try and submit a reading across multiple dates? Or is it just today? Is the reading inline with previous?

It has occurred over the last month.  Each time I click on submit after typing in the standard and off peak readings.  Our pattern of usage has not changed and the readings are correct for the date I am trying to enter.  I have jpeg photo files as evidence and jpeg files include the date and time in the header block of the file.

Which browser are you using?

Some browsers have changed their default security settings, which can then block some pages/parts of pages that you used to go to. The pages then give those ‘Oops….’ or similar messages because they are being blocked.

Usually just changing the browser security setting from ‘Strict’ to ‘Standard’ fixes it.

Does Nukecads advice help solve the issue @AErwood

How do I send Ovo a reading from the smart meter when I need to send rate 1 and rate 2 readings and there’s only space for one on the online meter reading submission form?

Hey @Brian N,

Our volunteer @Blastoise186 has you off to a good start. Did you manage to speak with our Support Team to submit your readings?

You can also submit them to our Social Media teams at:

It does it automatically doesn't it? If not how do they know much energy you've used? Or is OVO telling customers different things as usual

Hey @PP27,

Smart meters will send automatic meter readings as long as they are in communication.

As Brian asked for the process to send these manually, we want to make sure that he has access to the information that he needs, as it could also be helpful to other visitors to the thread.

I hope this clears things up!
