Since using the charge anytime all I'm finding the car is now not charged when I wake up.

Constant notifications from our car that it's stopped charging, the way previously is it would slow down the charge to 6amps with trickle charing, a much better approach in my mind.

I'm finding as a house with 2 cars I'm often not able to charge both, unless the charge is left unplugged for hours it simply doesn't create a schedule charge when we swap them, I also can't add on extra charge if we realise we do need a full charge after just doing 80% with the car.

Please bring at least the same functionality as the Web app gave us, this app has been out for ages I can't fathom how it is so bad, if there is some ting my end I can do to sort it I would love to know but all I did was follow the instructions and I've used boost more times in the last 3 weeks than I have in the last 3 years!

I meant to add in I'd actually be happier paying more than the 7p say 10p/12pkwh to keep using the legacy system that has worked mostly perfectly for me for the last few years. Or just flat % off the tariff rate, I understand I've been very fortunate to benifit from anytime but now it's actually costing money as I'm having to use a rapid charger finding the car is not charged.

This new system simply doesn’t work, Kaluza charged our 2 cars no trouble this app struggles to charge one!

My car is plugged in and charging after much messing around but the charge anytime app has no clue it is!

Yesterday it recorded half of the charge and when set to be ready for 7 was still charging at 7:30!

This needs fixing before the Kaluza web app goes otherwise customers are going to be frustrated and ripped off paying full cost as the app doesn’t log charges properly.

Why change something that works and replace it with one that doesn’t is beyond me.

Out of interest does anyone know if other suppliers continue to use Kaluza or is everyone switching to their own apps? Because right now I’m leaning to switching to a supplier that continues to use Kaluza to manage the charges. Sure its had a few moments with servers going down but at least it reverted to dumb charge mode, I even tried turning off the charger, unplugging it from the network, after an hour it still doesn’t revert to dumb charge it just sits waiting for a schedule it seems. I know you shouldn’t do that but when your car isn’t charging you go to desperate measures.

Honestly I’ve been with OVO for years and always been happy, even when the energy prices went mental and the tariffs went crazy with direct debits soaring even when they shouldn’t, but that could be fixed retrospectively, was happy to wait whilst it got sorted, it was a mess for everyone involved, but not having a car your able to use is a bit different, especially when its only due to software changes.

AFAIK the Kaluza Web App method is going away across the board.

I would advise against relying on it regardless of supplier.

Thanks, that is a real shame though!

In my mind cheap car charging won't be around forever, I'm trying to decide if I'd just rarther it always work and pay the regular rate or gamble with being able to actually charge.

The teams at OVO and Indra are working like mad to get the platform stable at the moment. However, there’s a lot of migrations going on at once which are hammering the systems and bogging things down. It’s… Not easy to try and deploy fixes while the entire system is struggling to cope with the load.

They are working on it with high priority though - it’s likely these teething issues that are the root cause.

I hope so, but from what I've seen so far it looks the reverting to a slower speed is gone and the ability to charge your car once the app has decided your car is charged.

The anyone can press the boost button and now your paying more seems madness to me before you could manually boost and manually stop now if someone presses it going to unplug the car replug then pray the schedule let's you charge is a bit much. On the flip side I guess we could abuse it as pressing it then stopping it also let us keep trickle charging our cars until the grid was greener.

I can understand the issue with scheduling but the actual functionality seems reduced overall to me.

Still have a few months till my contract ends and will monitor how other companies are managing smart charging!

I do hope it improves.

Thanks for the responses, sometimes just feeling like your being heard is enough to calm your emotions a bit 🤣 I'm assuming I won't hear back from my ranty complaint via email to the anytime team last week but I'll wait a bit before getting in touch with support and see if it smooth out prior.

Hey @jpnufc

The team respnded:

Thanks again for your feedback and I’m sorry your experience of the mobile apps hasn’t been good so far. I’ve shared this with the team to make sure that we’re making the right improvements for our customers in future.Once you’ve moved over to the Indra and Charge Anytime mobile apps, you’re no longer able to use the legacy Indra web app. All customers will also start losing access to the web app from 8 May, and will need to use the mobile apps going forward. Now that your charger operates with the Charge Anytime app, some of the features will be different. For example, the scheduling optimiser (which is still powered by Kaluza) needs to reset between charging sessions. Otherwise a new schedule won't be loaded and your vehicle won't charge. So once you’ve charged one vehicle, unplug it and wait around an hour to allow the optimiser to reset. After that, you can plug in your next vehicle, set your desired “ready by” time, and the app will take care of the rest.I hope that helps - and let me know if there’s anything else I can help with.

It's seems a lot more stable as the week goes on, shame this wasn't managed in waves to move over! Feel maybe a lot of frustration was down to the sheer numbers moving over and not much explanation on the changes to the way it works.

I'm hoping that this time delay comes down between swapping but so far it has worked for us this week. Accepted I have to use boost to precondition the car whilst plugged in, which isn't the end of the world but be useful it this is mentioned when switching over 👍 it's something we use pretty much daily

Be good to add some extra things to the faq, I notice our indra now flashes the lights green. Nothing is mentioned on the indra faq I could find, but was told on another forum the racing green is to show it's charging from solar which we don't have.

Definitely should mention you need to boost to draw from the wall to precondition the car!
