What’s the process if any would I need to follow if I get a new inverter and battery storage in relation to my FIT payment, I’m not changing my panels so the solar generation will not change from the original install expectations from that point of view, any advice would be appreciated.

Hi @SpeckleD , you need to advise your FIT provider with full details of the changes. There is a central register that is operated by Ofgem and as long as the new system specification doesn’t move you out of the original certification, that should be that. With batteries, you might find that your generation meter will need to be changed so make sure you keep an eye on any final and initial readings which would be needed

Howdy @SpeckleD ,

What’s the reason you were looking to swap out components of your system? If you can answer that for me, I’ll be able to ask a Forum Moderator to check with the right team.

Thanks!

I am going to get a battery storage solution installed that requires a new hybrid inverter, to manage both the batteries and the solar.

Morning @SpeckleD and welcome to the OVO Forum!

I’ve added the Solar PV badge to your account so that other Forum members recognise which kit you have, and we can add the battery badge as well once you’ve got it installed.

Is your FiT / SEG with OVO? If so you can contact the relevant team:

Feed in Tariffs (FIT)
Email: fits@ovoenergy.com

0330 102 7421

Smart Export Guarantee (SEG)

Email: seg@ovoenergy.com
0330 102 7421

If your Solar panels have been installed by OVO, you might also consider Battery Boost. You can find out more about this on our website here and in this Forum article:

As @Blastoise186 said and everything I've seen so far, you can replace like-for-like and then the FIT applies to replacement equipment. This is important for solar capacity, and inverter power. Anything else means the FIT no longer applies.

Here's a snapshot answer for connecting batteries but there seems to be more than one solution.
