You can view all compatible smart chargers and EVs here. See more about Charge Anytime on the dedicated homepage.

Hey @Robert N

I’m glad to see you’ve been able to get some helpful advice here, Blastoise186 has left some further helpful advice about the different between Charge Anytime and most other cheap EV charging offers.

You can add Charge Anytime to ANY OVO credit tariff, and also isn’t limited to a specific timeframe each day, you get to charge any time, when the grid is greenest and we’ll make sure your charged by the time you set it. See more about Charge Anytime on the webpage here.

Hi thanks,

The issue is that OVO no longer have agreement with Ohme to apply the anytime low rate tariff my vehicle, so I have to make a change. New charger or new power supplier. its cheaper to change provider than remove my existing Ohme charger and install a new OVO compatible one.

Just about to order a charger, should I go tethered or untethered ?

I can see untethered is much neater but is it a faff and will I regret it?

what do you have?  Pics please if possible.
I’m thinking of possibly building a wooden box with a door on the front to hide it if it’s too ugly.  We live in a white cottage and a modern black box in clear view might be a bit much.

Tethered any day to avoid the faf. Indra Smsrt Pro works for me and appears to be universally accepted if you shift supplier and require the cheaper EV rate.

Hypervolt is always a good bet - those are tethered and you can get them in black, grey or white.

However, please don’t box it in - electrical safety isn’t too keen on that.

Gotcha - the OVO Forum Community does not currently recommend Ohme at this time due to too many issues with them. I’d recommend you seek other Charger options instead if you’re able to.

Please consider getting one from the list at https://www.ovoenergy.com/electric-cars/charge-anytime-cars-and-chargers

Oh no, I really don’t have a choice, Ohme is all they offer.  The deal with the car was £99 for a charger installed.

should I ditch that and pay for something better?

Yes, there’s far better options than Ohme out there. Check out the link I gave you - all of those work fine with Charge Anytime.

Morning @bnewsom,

I hope you’re well. I can see @Blastoise186 and @BobTom have come through with some really helpful replies here, thanks both.

To give a bit more background on the advice you’ve been given, the integration between Charge Anytime and Ohme is no longer what it used to be, in that Ohme chargers can no longer be connected directly to Charge Anytime. You can find all information about this in this Forum topic:

If you wish to use Charge Anytime direct through your charger then you’ll need a compatible charger. However, you do also have the option of going direct through the vehicle for Charge Anytime, but going through the charger is a more popular option that has seen the better results. This is not to say that it doesn’t work when going through the vehicle, and Cupra is one of the compatible EV’s.

You’ll see from @Blastoise186’s link the compatible chargers and EV’s, and you can view our charger installation offers here. Having the Ohme charger installed for £99 would be a huge saving, so if you do go for that charger than you’ll need to set up Charge Anytime direct through your EV. You can find the steps for this here:

I hope this helps when making your decision. Any other questions please give us a shout - always here to help.
