I don’t have a choice of brand it will be an Ohme, that’s the deal with Cupra.

Gotcha - the OVO Forum Community does not currently recommend Ohme at this time due to too many issues with them. I’d recommend you seek other Charger options instead if you’re able to.

Please consider getting one from the list at https://www.ovoenergy.com/electric-cars/charge-anytime-cars-and-chargers

Oh no, I really don’t have a choice, Ohme is all they offer.  The deal with the car was £99 for a charger installed.

should I ditch that and pay for something better?

Yes, there’s far better options than Ohme out there. Check out the link I gave you - all of those work fine with Charge Anytime.

Morning @bnewsom,

I hope you’re well. I can see @Blastoise186 and @BobTom have come through with some really helpful replies here, thanks both.

To give a bit more background on the advice you’ve been given, the integration between Charge Anytime and Ohme is no longer what it used to be, in that Ohme chargers can no longer be connected directly to Charge Anytime. You can find all information about this in this Forum topic:

If you wish to use Charge Anytime direct through your charger then you’ll need a compatible charger. However, you do also have the option of going direct through the vehicle for Charge Anytime, but going through the charger is a more popular option that has seen the better results. This is not to say that it doesn’t work when going through the vehicle, and Cupra is one of the compatible EV’s.

You’ll see from @Blastoise186’s link the compatible chargers and EV’s, and you can view our charger installation offers here. Having the Ohme charger installed for £99 would be a huge saving, so if you do go for that charger than you’ll need to set up Charge Anytime direct through your EV. You can find the steps for this here:

I hope this helps when making your decision. Any other questions please give us a shout - always here to help.

Thanks @bnewsom. Just to be clear - it’s not all doom and gloom at all - you’re getting a great deal on a charger and you’ll still be able to go direct through your Cupra if it’s one of the compatible models:

  • Born (2021+)

  • Formentor (2021+)

  • Leon (2021+)

  • Tavascan (2024+)

  • Terramar (2025+)
