Volvo C40 Not Charging - Anyone Experienced Similar?

I have a 2024 Volvo C40 Recharge and I have the Charge Anytime plan.

My charger is an Indra Smart Pro.

During the last month, OVO said they have not received any comms from the car to say how many units of electricity I have used to charge the car and, therefore, I have been charged the full rate.

Within the last week, when I connect my charger, no charge takes place. Normally, the car would start charging automatically and be fully charged by the departure time I set.

Within the car settings on the Charge section, I do not have a schedule set, this is disabled, but recently I have noticed that when I connect my charger, the schedule option automatically overrides and implements a start / finish time of 30 minutes which would not be sufficient to charge the vehicle.

This is hugely frustrating as I cannot charge my car unless I override the option to receive off-peak charging which then costs a lot more.

On previous instruction from OVO, I do not used the Indra app to set schedules as I’m told that everything now is managed via the Volvo app which send usage data to OVO (it used to!).

Also, I’m told not to use the Charge Anytime app as it is not required.

I have reset the Volvo infotainment system, the TCAM, and performed a force reset by plugging and unplugging the charger into the vehicle multiple times in quick succession.

None of this has resolved the issue and I’m at my wits end.

I’m in contact with the Charge Anytime team, but I don’t feel anyone knows how to resolve this.

Hey @Bazza20,

I reached out to the Charge Anytime team this morning to see if they’re aware of your situation. They remembered your previous conversation and let me know that they’ve escalated your case to Kaluza. They're currently waiting for Kaluza to take a look at it. As soon as they have any updates, they'll get in touch with you directly to share the resolution.

Hopefully they’ll have an update to share with you soon!

@Chris_OVO Hi Chris.

I’ve been in daily contact with the CA team and they have been very efficient in responding.

The frustrating thing is that Indra say there HAS to be a schedule set within their app to allow a charge to take place, but OVO advise not to use the Indra app or have any schedule applied as this will conflict with the data being sent from the Volvo app to OVO.

This morning, I did set a schedule within the Indra app to charge at Anytime and As Full As Possible.

As soon as I did so, and connected the charger to my car, charging began immediately.

I have informed the CA team of this and they say in doing so, I may not receive the discounted charge rate which defeats the object of having a Charge Anytime plan.

What is perplexing is why this has changed within the last month as prior to that, it was working fine. Something changed and I’d like to know what.

I have changed nothing my side.

Hey @Bazza20!

I’m really glad to hear they’ve been quick to get back to you! I can imagine how frustrating this must be for you as tech issues can be such a headache.

One thing we know about technology is that there’s always another software or firmware update around the corner. Sometimes, when something gets fixed, it can unexpectedly mess with something else that was working just fine. I really believe this isn’t anything you did but more likely, it’s something with the software that we just need to sort out together.

I love that you’re diving into troubleshooting and looking for a workaround! The more info we can gather, the better we can tackle this issue.

Please keep me updated on your progress, and remember I’m here to help whenever you need advice. 😊

If so, do you have a schedule set within the Indra app such as:

Charge As Full As Possible

Anytime

Monday - Sunday

If you do not have a schedule set within the Indra app, do you enable a schedule within the vehicle Charge menu settings or have you disabled this?

My car will not charge unless I enable a schedule within the Indra app, but OVO say I should not be doing this as the usage data must come from the vehicle / Volvo app.

It used to work, but now doesn’t and I am trying to establish from others with a similar vehicle and charger set-up how it’s configured.

Thanks.
