Split phase supply- Does OVO supply these?

Hello, I have been quoted by SSEN for an upgrade to my current supply. I am currently using a single phase to an 100 amp. They have offered a split phase supply 40kva to a 100amp. However I would obviously need a new meter. OVO don't seem to support a split phase supply? Could this be used on a 3 phase meter?

Yes we absolutely do polyphase smart metering if the installation meets eligible smart criteria, if it doesn't it would go to our contractor to fit a heritage polyphase meter.

 

I would try again with customer services or email in.

This is great Lukepeniket_ovo. My recent dealings with the customer service led me to belive that this wasn't an option. 

See correspondence below. 

"Upon reviewing your email regrettably OVO does not offer a split phase supply. We are only able to offer a single phase and three phrase meter.

I would advise going back to the connects quoter requesting if its a three phrase you are needing, if this is the case we can look to see about getting this booked in for you."

 

So just to confirm a 3 phase meter would be the meter I need for a split phase supply?

Sorry for the wait!!! I’ve been out on Fire Service Volunteer duties all day and only just got back.

In that case, please contact OVO again during the week and use Live Chat​​​​​https://ovoenergy.com/help to put this back through - it’s faster and FAR more reliable than Emails are, trust me!

When you get through, give the agent a link to this thread and ask them to read it. Please also tell the agent you’ve spoken to the OVO Forum Volunteer known as Blastoise186 and Luke Peniket who is one of OVO’s Polyphase trained Smart Meter Engineers who is also the resident Forum Engineer who is authorised to help out on the OVO Forum. Make sure to mention that we’ve both advised what you’re after IS possible with a Three-Phase Meter. If the agent is not sure, they need to raise an escalation to get it looked at more deeply.

That should get the ball rolling without you doing tons of typing. If it doesn’t work out, let us know here!
