Hi @Postoffice

Sorry to hear about the trouble you’re having with your asbestos backboard, they’re always quite a tricky subject.

As Blastoise186 has mentioned, it’s not the responsibility of the supplier, so EON wouldn’t take anything to do with the removal.

Our advice to our customers would be to contact your DNO, they may help in replacing the backboard, but ultimately it is the customer’s responsibility.

I did find this discussion which may also help confirm this.

Hi all, how do I get this removing the pic, should I or housing assistance be responsible

Hi @Alexander.F ,

Apologies, but your image is unclear and we can’t read it. Please upload a replacement in your next reply and we’ll advise.

Thanks

Hi @Alexander.F

Your title does say ‘second’ so can you confirm that this is not the main gas meter that belongs to the supplier?
Instead it is a meter that you own and might have been used for measuring what a annex or flat is/was using?

That looks like a Durecom meter, they are still sold: https://www.metersuppliers.co.uk/durecom-wizit-diaphragm-gas-meters

Hey @Alexander.F

I’m glad to see a couple of our volunteers have already stopped by to help out, I hope Nukecad’s advice was helpful. Blastoise is correct, a clearer photo might be helpful if that would be possible?

As for responsibility of arranging removal, if you’re currently the energy account holder then you would be responsible for this. We’ve got some topics on the Forum which may be helpful:

I hope this helps, do keep us updated with how you get on.
