update to energy insights on app for studio flats

Just to point out that the Insights profile has no bearing at all on Power Move. Insights just uses the various entries (e.g. one fridge or two?) (a) to be able to make educated guesses about what is using power, and (b) to make comparisons with similar homes, which is where the number of bedrooms comes into play along with the number of occupants. 

Power Move doesn’t care at all about the customer’s circumstances. It only looks at the proportion of total weekday usage that is consumed in the target period. 

That said, I would think ‘one bedroomed flat’ would include studio flats. I wouldn’t expect there to be be much overall difference between those that have a separate bedroom and those that don’t. Can you point to any statistics that suggest otherwise?

 3 times since I joined I've lost out on any credit I could of got  n I work when power move is on between 6 pm and 9 pm. I'm at work until the next morning I sleep for at least 10 hours work 10 hrs  at work ( including commuting time)which  leaves 4 hours that I'm using electric. I'm of the old school only use what you need. Bedrooms come into the question as far as the heating of the property ( which in my case a 2 KW heater and a small fan in the bathroom to keep frost away) for the winter months. Also asks how many people live there in the questions, so if 1 person lives in said flat of course your going to use less electric than say 2 or 3 people and also it asks how long would someone be in the property so if you're sleeping your not using electric except for your refrigerator or anything else that is on. I get the point of the energy insights bit but for it to be more realistic for people . I've been a customer of OVO and before that SSE and before that the north of Scotland hydro electric n they were great companies ( North of Scotland hydro electric even taught people how to work out your electric bills back in the day) . The smaller the property and the occupancy  and how long the people are at home using electric can come into play

@Firedog is one of our passionate Power Move members and has provided some really useful insights. 

“This is calculated using your half-hourly readings (measured by your smart meter) each weekday during each month. To work out the percentage, we look at how much electricity you use during the peak hours (specific to that Power Move challenge) and compare this to your total use for that day”. This was taken from our Power Move FAQ that gives more information on how the calculations are made and you’ll find more information on the link. It’s not dependant on how many bedrooms your property may or may not have. 

I’ll raise your suggestion about adding studio flats into the energy insights area of the app as it’s a great point! I’ll come back to you when I hear back from them. If you have any other questions then please let us know.
